If the griefer does a significant amount of damage just to be a jerk, then it's unacceptable.
If the griefer does very minor damage, and is well meaning, then it's excusable. Things like, say: breaking a single block without thinking about it first.
You have no idea how many servers I have been permanently banned from just for breaking one block, many times without thinking first. Now THAT is unacceptable!

1.Actually the black particle thingies are just rifts, if you have 2 of them closer together than 5 blocks a rift scar (a line of black particles) begins to connect them, this causes them to do stuff like eat blocks or spread. The blue portals that spawn naturally are dungeon gates, they are like single use doors, but if you exit trough it an actuall door will spawn, rifts inside doors (or portals) are dormant and can't do anything
2. I said if you have one pair of rifts form a rift scar it will create new rifts nearby, but more rifts that are nearby the slower it will spread, so usually it will virtually stop when it becomes a 10 block size cluster of rifts. It could in theory grow even bigger, but it would take actuall months.
3. Yeah that's just a rumor, it's just a small punishment for dieing in a pocket.
4. You misunderstood me, the fabric doesn't spread, the Limbo ages blocks inside it and Unraveled fabric just happens to be the final form of all mater.
Ok thanks for the advice, it helped a lot.

1. I'm not shure you understand what rift scars are, rifts spawn naturally in a world, when you load new chunks. Rift scars is an intangible connection between two rifts that are closer than 5 blocks, this causes them to eat blicks in a 4 block radius, drop world thread and occasionally spread.
2.They spread very slowly, and only if they are part of a rift scar, it is theoretically infinite, but each adjacent rift slows it down by around 20%, in practice this means you could end up wit clusters about 10x10 blocks.
3. No, but if you stand in front of a Monolith for too long you will be teleported to a random spot in Limbo
4.That's not because of unraveled fabric but Limbo itself. Because of it's chaotic nature anny matter inside will slowlly deteriorate into unraveled fabric, the block itself is a harmless cheap creepy building material.
And yes it is similar to inception, but with infinite paralel dreams you can enter... mostly empty.
For #1: What I meant about rifts or rift scars, is that from my current understanding of the mod, natural rifts are either A: the black particles that sit in place, or B: the blue trippy portal things wedged in stone bricks. I am under the impression that the black ones spawn naturally as well. Do the blue portal ones spread scars if too close together as well?
For #2: I am a bit confused by that one, rift scars only spread if part of a rift scar? To clarify, I asked about scars, not the rifts themselves. When you said clusters of about 10x10, you meant 10x10 blocks of rift scars right, is that where it starts spreading very slowly? So basically, rift scars COULD eat a large portion of a world, but it would take ages?
For #3: Glad to know my sandbox experience will not be permanently halted by nightmare fuel. That is VERY good news!
For #4: So unraveled fabric will only spread inside limbo, anywhere else it is harmless? Awesome, I should make Castle limbo out of this stuff... Or use it for roads maybe? Interesting...

Thing is, the terrain generator is still just as unvaried as it was before 1.7
If anything, it seems even more unvaried than before. Why? Because of the stupid temperature system.
before the 1.7 release, you could easily find unique biomes and extreme hills biomes were uncommon, but not rare.
Now, because of the temperature system, you literally keep finding the same biomes over and over again, and extreme hills are everywhere!
Oh you definitely fixed the variation mojang, and it saddens me that you will never change the generation ever again.
Feb 24, 2014Hi, I have this mod with the tekkit mod-pack, and I have a few concerns.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
1. I read that rift (scars) spawn naturally. Is this upon world generation, can they spawn with newly loaded chunks, or just spontaneously in your world?
2. Can rift scars spread across the entire world, or are they limited to a certain range of blocks. If it is infinite, then how fast do they spread. If not infinite, then what's the maximum range?
3. I have read somewhere that if you do not escape limbo within a certain amount of time, then you are stuck there forever. Is this true? If so, then how long do I have, and does the timer reset for the next visit.
4. Since unraveled fabric spawns as a platform in the overworld for when you escape limbo. Does it spread? If so, then I have the same questions as #2.
Other than that, this is a pretty cool mod!

Because the pseudo rose that magically grew out of the ground in one flower without a bush did not make much sense. Hence why actual rose bushes were added.
This is minecraft, a game where dirt can float in mid air, dogs can teleport, and bones can be crafted into an item that magically grows plants out of thin air. It doesn't have to make sense.

It's a copy of Cookie Clicker.
Well I've never played cookie clicker, so I wouldn't know. It's just a fun game I ran into. So far my pickaxe is a super pick +1 with 4.9 million power and 255% quality.

So you disagree with Adventure mode too then? In Adventure mode you play an adventure made by someone. It makes heavy use of commandblocks and other contraptions to control the adventure.
And I didn't buy MineCraft because of its name. I bought it because of what I saw on YouTube and people making huge machinery and farms and stuff like that. The game would lose a lot of its appeal to me if things like that were suddenly no longer possible.
I think the second scenario is better. It pleases (or leaves unchanged) more people then the first scenario.
First of all: Adventure is an entirely different game mode, and I'm not entirely sure why on earth someone would put an iron/gold farm in his/her map. It makes no sense. I'm only concerned about survival. Just because I disagree with iron/gold farms, doesn't mean I hate redstone entirely. In fact, I always liked redstone.
Second of all: I'm pretty sure there is a sizable number of people who disagrees with iron/gold farms too, I've probably seen as many people on this thread disagree with iron/gold farms, as people who agree.
Third of all: I am not so much against iron/gold farms because I think they affect me. I am against them because they are turning the game into something it is not. When minecraft started, one of it's big gimmicks was mining, yes MINING! It didn't have no stupid creative mode, it didn't have no adventure mode, just survival! And now you're telling me that instead of mining for iron (which is literally everywhere underground), people can just stand in front of a cheaty mob grinder and get several stacks of iron, in 5 minutes tops? Thereby breaking the very foundations this game was built on!?? Thats absurd!!
In alpha, you mined for ores
In beta you mined ores
In the "final" release, you mined for ores
Now, as of several updates ago, you can just stand in front of a grinder and get them for free!
Btw, why do you keep putting ",greetings" in your posts?

Idle mine is a game about mining, crafting new pickaxes, and wondering just how the heck your blacksmith could craft so many duds. Most of the game is played with the left mouse button.
You start off by mining poo, then you work your way up to new rocks and ores. Upgrading your pickaxe and buying new upgrades as you go. You can play the game here.
This thread is for discussing the game.
Jan 23, 2014As FishyMoosey has pointed out: iron golems and zombie pigmen were never intended to farm iron or gold in the first place.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
The main reason why I'm against iron/gold farms (especially iron), is that it breaks the theme of the game. Mojang has a vision for minecraft, and that vision is about mining, crafting, and building. Iron/gold farms violate the mining aspect, which is precisely why Mojang is nerfing them.
Besides, why on earth did you buy a game titled MineCraft If you didn't want to mine?

How does it give someone an unfair advantage?
Never-mind, I just realized it doesn't affect me. The only real server type it could affect me on is factions, and I am never playing on those god-forsaken faction servers ever again.

What kind of servers do you play on where people don't share?
I don't play multiplayer anymore, so never-mind.

I fail to see any edge that an iron farm could give you in multiplayer aside from... what?
See my first quoted reply.

Didn't repealing the nerf stop increased lag levels? Unless you were talking about iron farms in general before the nerf ever existed.
Ummm... I may have been on the wrong topic posting that... It was supposed to be about when the nerf was still in effect. Sorry for the confusion.

You actually can't use this mod on a server without the plugin, just FYI.
I've used mods on multiplayer before though, but I think I understand what you are trying to say here.
This really should be a plugin though...
Jul 18, 2013While I like the idea of getting to choose what enchants you get, IMO It's very OP, imagine if a group of players used this mod on a brand new faction/pvp server, surfed through the list numerous times, got sharpness 4, Fire Aspect 2, and Knockback 2 diamond swords for each person, then did the same for armor and tools. Fighting that faction would be impossible! Not only that, but PVP in minecraft is just plain frustrating, unbalanced, and involves little skill already! Good thing I don't play on PVP servers...Posted in: News
We need more plugins like this.
