Sure, so long as I'd be bothered to search through thousands of 24/7 FACTIONS ECONOMY VANILLA WHITELIST PVP servers to find a non-pvp bukkit server

I know how you feel bro. I don't understand why people are still making new pvp/factions servers. They already comprise something like 99.99% of all servers now, enough is enough! We need more vanilla survival servers, because there simply are nowhere near enough of them.

This sounds very simple, and balanced. Definitely could get me more interested in pvp. The only thing I don't like is the spear idea, otherwise I fully support this.

    This needs a poll btw.

To all you people thinking you can just find a better server, It's more complicated then that. As a player who prefers nopvp vanilla survival I dare you to go to the PC server section, and search for a good, vanilla survival server, without pvp. You are pretty much guaranteed to get less than 200 results, many will be white-listed, or will have some stupid RP thing that you don't want.

Server list websites arent much different. I usually find myself spending many hours (heck, maybe an entire day) just finding a good server, that suits my wants, they always have at least one small thing you don't like too. If you like vanilla survival servers, with no-pvp, then you will never find a server that perfectly suits your needs.

posted a message on Why are PVP servers so popular?
Because some people are too stupid to play the game, how it should be played. I have played on quite a few faction servers, and I've learned a couple of things. 1: If your faction isn't one of the first 10 on the server, then it most likely will be raided and destroyed. 2: Most of the players will pick on you mercilessly, and usually won't get in much trouble, or none at all (even if you report them). 3: Donators often get some OP equipment or custom attacks, like spells, sometimes even allowing them to hurt you at the spawn area itself!

My advice with pvp servers (especially factions), is unless you know EXACTLY wtf you are doing, you should avoid them at all costs!

posted a message on is minecraft still scary
It used to be very scary during beta, especially when endermen were first added back when they stalked you, and caught fire in sunlight.
Nowadays the game isn't very scary. It's still sort of scary in singleplayer, because of the fact that you are alone, but in multiplayer? Meh...

Minecraft was always scary in the sense of things freaking you out, but it was mostly scary in the sense of jump-scares.

It sounds like you got a chunk error, AKA a world hole. Reloading the world usually fixes those.

    Worst: Beta 1.8

I think we can all agree that adventure update was worst update

I dunno, I think release 1.0 may have been much worse. It broke pvp with enchanting, it changed the rain noise to that loud-annoyance that we have now, and it added potions, which made the broken pvp system even more broken.

Repetitive terrain may be boring, but a broken pvp system, where you can get killed by being 1-hitted by someone with a sharp 5 diamond sword, or 2 flasks of harming II is outright frustrating. Especially when you are forced to listen to ear-splitting rain at the same time, which cannot be muted without muting the rest of the sounds, or getting rid of all other particles.

I think release 1.0 may have been worse by a long-shot.

How much are you willing to bet that these, are the same type of parents that let their kids play Call of Duty or Halo, and let them use the voice-chat to annoy everyone non-stop?

Best: probably beta 1.7, pistons were really neat for redstone, and having endermen stalk you definitely added to the scary aspects of the game.

Worst: Release 1.0, with 1.8 beta being the runner-up. Never have I seen such a game-breaking update. This is the update that broke pvp entirely, this is the update that made rain highly annoying, but most importantly, this is the update that ruined the fun of the game for me (especially in multiplayer, and I am a huge sucker for SMP).

As for 1.8 beta, how did Mojang end up ruining the terrain generation so badly? The terrain was just fine! I always find it highly ironic that it was called the "adventure update", it should've been called the "repetitive terrain update". It's even more ironic that 1.8 beta was intended to "improve" exploration.

    Quote from Gastroid

It's almost as if terrain generation was almost entirely rewritten.

    Oh wait, it really was.

I know, but it still lacks that magical mid-beta feel, betas terrain had virtually unlimited variation, 1.7's does not. I don't know about you, but have you noticed how highly restrictive the new temperature system is? But anyways, I guess I'm judging the book by it's cover here, because I haven't played the new update all that much really. I just love to criticize things.

Either way, PvP still needs an overhaul before we go any further with new content like mobs. How long has PvP been in the game? Oh I dunno, maybe since multiplayer came out?

How about instead of adding more mobs just for the sake of new content, Mojang actually does something useful! Something like: A PvP/combat overhaul. Why? Because traditional survival is under attack with these endless waves of PvP servers, sooner or later you WILL end up being forced to join one, and the current system is absurd.

Or maybe another terrain update? Think about it, 1.7 was a response to numerous complaints about the extreme lack of variety in the terrain after 1.8 beta. 1.7 was supposed to be a TERRAIN GENERATOR UPDATE, but for some odd reason Mojang derped halfway through and went with biomes instead.

Don't get me wrong, I think 1.7 is cool and all, but it wasn't exactly what the community asked for.

The game needs to stop getting so many new features, as it needs a lot of things to be polished. unless the game gets its existing features polished and balanced, and RIGHT NOW, it will eventually be unplayable, as in frustrating and not fun anymore. Mojang will probably run out of ideas at some point anyways.

Am I the only one that thinks roofed forest should look like this?

Possibly denser? The main reason why the current roofed forest is so ugly IMO, is because the trees look way too short.

posted a message on Have you ever been banned from your favorite server?
Yes, many times over. Sometimes it's because I compulsively break a single block and get permabanned for griefing (even when the admin asks me to fix it, and I do), other times its because the server ends up having an abusive staff member, or the owner gets mad, and finally there is the odd time where I like the server, but eventually get fed up and rage, which leads to a permaban.

Also, I don't bother with ban appeals because I find that they are a waste of my time.

    Quote from Mathy

I was an admin and tested a console command, which banned everyone on the server. I'm a little more experienced now...

That must've caused a massive backlash...

Definitely Pokemon Pearl for me. And before you hate me for it let me explain: I have played Pokemon Red, and Fire Red, it had good music and Pokemon Designs (They were the original Pokemon!), Pokemon Crystal (Nice graphics, had some great designs too, and an epic soundtrack, along with very VERY expansive gameplay), and Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire

Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire HANDS DOWN had the best soundtrack, some awesome Pokemon designs (possibly better than the previous gens), and while it didn't have the most gameplay, it's soundtrack, and extra legendaries more than made up for it!

You can probably imagine, that I was very excited for Diamond and Pearl, and I was. I was expecting some epic music, some cool new Pokemon, and other stuff. What I got was quite the opposite! Instead I got a HORRIBLY generic OST, some TERRIBLE Pokemon designs, and, frustratingly hard difficulty levels. It didn't matter if I ran into one of the few Pokemon in the game, that isn't ugly, or weird looking (I'm looking at you Bidoof). Because almost EVERY Pokemon in the game had a new awkward cry, and animation.

Pokemon Pearl is not only the worst game I have ever played, it's also the most disappointing game I have ever played, and possibly the most frustrating game I have ever played. Where could Game Freak go so wrong? How the $%&# did that game get such positive reviews? I may never know...
