Something useful to add might be to allow custom qurries using json. That way a modpack creator like myself could make qurries for all the mod ores.

I don't have too much of a problem with spiders myself. Sure there are lots of em but if you just kite them (keep backing up and strafing) they're not really too difficult unless you don't have any armor or good weapons. Iron is easy to get so once you're decked out in full iron you can deal with them easier, but it's better to just engage them tactically (use terrain to your advantage). Once you've gotten the better armor types then you can pretty much just tank them and keep mashing your left-click until they're all dead. But if you run into a room filled with too many spiders then you can either use a water bucket to slow em down or use a bucket of gelid cryotheum or lava to reduce their numbers.

For me, it's the dirt creepers that I find annoying. I can engage them like I might normal creepers (hit em once, duck behind something to reset their timer, and then run up and hit em twice to kill em), but about 1/3 of the time they do explode, usually a fair bit away from where I am, creating a nice big blob of dirt for me to dig up. I don't really care much for digging up the dirt they make.

I have a question though. There's a quest that requires me to go to the TOP of the nether, and i've made it nearly to the coords listed in the quest, but there's some bedrock that keeps me from getting to the top. How would I go about getting past the bedrock so I can access the loot promised in the quest description?

You can either build a nether portal in the overworld high enough so when you come through, you're ontop of the nether. Or use ender pearls to teleport through.

Most of the items seem to be just copies of other items from popular mods. Not only are the blocks almost exactly identical, but the crafting recipes are very similar as well.
