posted a message on The Villager Update

While 1.10 is in the works, I since 1.7 have wanted an update that expands villagers to more than just the cheapskate "HRR"ing mobs they are. I thought of a few ideas back then and I am here to revise those ideas and spread them with the world.

    NEW VILLAGERS:

-Merchant: These fellows sell random but exotic items that even clergymen don't have (i.e.: Ender Eyes, Chainmail) for cheap prices. However, Merchants are hard to spot because they rarely spawn and move from village to village. You won't see the same merchant twice!

-Builder: They make buildings for the village. Buildings that are small (Farm, House) may only take around one minecraft day to build, while larger constructions (Church) take more time. Builders can make new projects after six days from completing the last, but around 3-4 builders will be in a village at any given moment. They also trade building supplies (Cobblestone, Wooden Planks) for emeralds. NEW: Builders will build according to how much population a village has, e.g.: 10 villagers = 4 small houses, 2 large houses, a blacksmith, a butcher's, and two farms.

    NEW CONCEPTS:

Building construction - it is as the name suggests. Villages become dynamic by having buildings being built while the game goes on.

So, what do you guys think? Have any suggestions? Leave some feedback.

    NOTABLE SUGGESTED IDEAS:

    -Merchants have guard dogs.

Ok, I know I am necroposting at this point, but I don't care. I just wanted to give a big "I'm sorry" to everyone who dealt with me on this.

I was a super noob. I was only 10 when I posted my reply, just being a dumb little **** browsing through the internet. Through the years, I have grown up and have become more mature. As you can see, my spelling has improved greatly, and I can now hold a somewhat intellectual conversation with someone on the internet and not look like a complete idiot.

As for the resource pack, the old computer I used to make it died, and I had to buy a new one and start from scratch. I still plan on making it.

And I am sorry. Necroposting is rude, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. It's been bothering me for two years now.

    I expected more from you.

Uh, have you seen Darwin's Finches? They ADAPTED to survive. Like the blood sucking Finch, there weren't many things the finch could eat, so it evolved a sharp beak to suck blood of the poor Red Boobies that lived on the island.
And its next door neighbor has a thick beak to eat the fruts of the other island, like Cocanuts and Bananas. And the Galopagos Tortises are the most strangest torises in the world. And here is a video about it (Not by me and dose talk about Darwins evolution theorys
No offense meant, I just want to show my ideas.

I think we humans ARE hogging the planet, but only in certain and fertile areas. I mean, in 1975, the Pop. was only a little over 4 billion. Now were hitting 8 billion and fast. If humans could manage to keep certain animals in the cold or scorching desert, we would have plenty. But I think Earth can only support 15 Billion people cap. until we run out of room. Even to look at small things, we humans shed 30 pounds of skin cells a day. That adds up over... well, I don't know... 1 MILLION YEARS? So what im saying is, Earth is also getting pushed farther away from the sun. And soon, it will end up like this cause of all the pollution, finding fossil fules, and other stuff causing earth to turn into hell. (Not my video) But that wont happen until... 2 million years, I would say.

Here are my soldiers for Colonial Rich.
The first is the leather armour; a sort of militia outfit.
The next is the iron armour, the standard 'musketeer' outfit.
Next is diamond armour, my special 'Kingfisher' soldier,
and finally is the gold armour, which is an officer's uniform.

I chose yellow and blue, because Colonial Rich is not meant to be a real-world pack, but fantasy.

Nice. And i think my skins will work well. But i dont have time, School just started in the Northern Hemisphere.

Hey no, thanks for the encouragement! I'm not onto the sky yet, and the water is too bright I admit. As for the villagers you've hit a fundamental issue with this pack, I don't know whether to have them as natives or as settlers. The building style the villages use seems to imply settlers, but the fact they inhabit the land at all seems to mean natives. So perhaps like you said they can be native settlers... if that makes any sense at all! I'm working on the armours now as a matter of fact, and as I said above they're based on my own fantasy world rather than real-life soldiers. But your ideas are certainly similar to what I'm doing!
And yes, if you'd like to do a skin for the villagers I'd love that and would use it in my pack, as long as I'm allowed to!

And your allowed to use my skins. And since you said its Fictonal, maby i could put in some natives from around the world (I.e: Hawiians, Aboriginals, Sioux, ect.) and yes, i understand what u meant by native settlers. But i would put it as "Converted Natives". Now, there not Exactly slaves, there free men but are owned by the settlers. And ill get to the Villagers right away!!! And if you need anything else, just message me.

    That number is definitely WRONG!

EDIT: I read that topic after I wrote all of the below stuff. The last comment in that topic corrects the OP and agrees with me. Actually, since he said it first, even though I didn't know it, I agree with him.

The OP is correct that the seed input box will take up to a 32 character string.

However, any string that is longer than 20 characters or contains anything (including spaces) other than 19 instances of 0 thru 9 and either a leading + or - will be passed to the java hashcode() function.
The hashcode() function will turn the input text string into a 32 bit signed integer. That is, a number between -2147483648 and 2147483647(inclusive). [This is 2 to the 32nd power seeds BTW]
For more about the hashcode() routine goto this topic page and scroll down to my post #403.

IF the seed input box has a NUMBER between -9223372036854775808 and 9223372036854775807 (inclusive) that number will be used as the seed. [This results in 2 to the 64th power seeds]
    2 ^ 64 equals 18446744073709551616 which is just short of 2 * (10 ^ 19).

With the exception of entering 0 (a zero) or leaving the seed input box blank which will cause MC to use the computer's internal clock as a seed to produce a random number (also in the larger range mentioned above) that is then used as the world seed.

IF you want to create a world in one of the three possible types using 0 (zero) as the seed, what you have to do is enter a text string that hashcode() will evaluate down to 0 (zero).
I currently only know of two such strings, "pollinating sandboxes" and "grinnerslaphappier.org". I have NO IDEA how these were discovered, but I do know that if either one is entered as a seed to generate a world when you type the command /seed in that world you will get seed: 0 as a result.

Multiplying by three (for the three world types that can be created) we get a total of 3 * (2 ^ 64) total possible MineCraft worlds.
    3 * (2 ^ 64) = 55,340,232,221,128,654,848 which, for all practical purposed is infinite.

I think i just craped my pants reading that. That is unbelevible math. Of corse, im just starting 5th grade.

It is rare! Any seed is rare! The chance of spawning in this seed (or any seed) is very very low. How many seeds are there anyway? infinite amount? if so, then it's a one in infinity chance of spawning this seed.

I woulden't say there an Infinite amount. But I searched it up on Google for you, and from this page http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/606524-minecraft/58747077/651922523 it says there are 5.2626167386738706033443602432 x 10^66 seeds. I don't know what anyof that means except for multiplying the seeds digits twice, and squaring it by 10? Im not sure, im not mr Math. But I hope that link helps. And it works for most versions of Minecraft released, from 1.2+. And yes, its super rare to find a village, an island biome, and a Stronghold, netherless altogether and near the spawn.
