Many of the top players on the online games that i play are female. I've seen people taunt female gamers plenty of times, but they are not very plentiful. There is nothing wrong with female female gamers at all. Some of my best friends in my games are female players are they are very highly respected due to them being some of the best and friendliest people around.



So in all honesty, there is no difference between a male or female playing games, except that by not being a sexist troll, you will make more friends and less enemies.

The only problem I have with women in gaming is how some sad dudes act when they find out they aren't gaming in a sausage party anymore. I'm not just talking about the white knight syndrome I mean the overall shift in attitude. Every girl gamer I ever talked to wants to be treated equally not put on a pedestal by a bunch of creepy strangers or treated like they can't keep up with the guys. When I play a PvP game vs women they get wrecked right along with the guys.



That being said I did encounter one girl gamer who used her gender to get guys to protect her in game and in chat. I don't mean protect as if she was being harassed though I mean like defend her like she's this fragile snowflake that will melt if anyone even thinks mean things about her. Needless to say she ended up hating me and leaving games I joined. I wasn't mean though I just wouldn't give her special treatment or put up with her sad little posse.

The most I've gotten online is like, some kid spamming me about wanting to "team up", but i tend to play on servers with mostly 18+ people. What bugs me the most is that everyone like, automatically assumes i'm male and refers to me as sir and crap :/ I understand there are a lot of guy gamers online, but i would think at this point we would realize we have enough girl gamers that they would be a bit less presumptuous *shrug*. its not a SUPER big deal though.

But seriously, anyone who treats someone like crap because of their sex,gender,race, sexual orientation, etc, whether in minecraft or IRL, is a terrible person and should feel terrible.

I think its awesome to see girls/women getting into games, especially when they're better than I am. And thats my very adult male perspective. Just as its already been stated, its most likely kids doing the harassing. They probably think they'll get cooties from girls/women playing on the same server.

There is quite some time since i last saw that "girls shouldn't play video games" thing. Usually i hear "ur a gurl ? let's walk together" or "LOOK GALS ITS A GIRL, MARRY ME PLS". It may be because i'm playing with a bunch of Mineplex kids, but dunno.

Still. That sucks. I don't see why females shouldn't play video games. It's not like they are not human, or anything like that. :v
