    I figured it out! I still had matchblocks instead of matchTiles, which screwed it up. Fixed!


    Today I've been working on finally making the texture of the block in your inventory match what the block looks like when placed. I've basically memorized which blocks do what, so I never bothered with it much before. But I realize now that for someone trying to actually use the pack, it'd be pretty confusing. So in the interest of user-friendliness, the next release should make it much easier to find all my cool textures.

    I'm getting close to being able to release the mod for 1.16.1. I'm running into this weird issue where the dirt on my grass blocks is being tinted from the biome. The overlay file looks fine. Also strange is that the snowed block doesn't get tinted, but it uses the regular grass block side, not my snowed grass block side.

    Thanks for the kind words! I really do appreciate it. I’m glad to know I have at least one fan out there! I wish I knew how to get more attention for the pack. *shrug*


    Any thoughts on the 64 vs 128 px doors?

    I can't say how long this flurry of activity will last, but I'm on a roll! I've got two new textures to show off. The doors and the horizontal ctm design above them are both from the CalEdison building in Los Angeles. The design is 64px, but the doors are 128px. I try to avoid 128px as much as possible, but sometimes I splurge if I feel it is necessary.



    Though, I dunno. Do you guys think the 64px version of the doors look ok? Or too blurry/pixelated? (the middle door is 128, and the ones on the sides are 64).

    Gorgeous stuff, eh? Wish I could have gotten inside, I got there on the wrong day. The interior has a lot of more amazing features I could have used.

    I've started tinkering with my pack again. I've got it almost entirely updated for 1.16.1, and I've added two new textures:


    The door design comes from Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. I visited there last spring, it is the famous art deco observatory featured in Rebel Without a Cause and a few other movies.


    Here's my original pic from the observatory. The door is really tall, I had to cut down a lot to fit it into the 64x128 px ratio:

    See, Optifine doesn't play nice with Minecraft's block models system. What's happening is that because Minecraft's default stone flips textures randomly Optifine is forced to do the same. What you need to do is go into the blockstate file an eliminate all of the variants so that only the regular, non-flipped stone model gets called by the game.

    Trying to do a repeat CTM. But some tiles are randomly flipped. I have Natural Textures turned off in Optifine. But still it looks like this:

    I did. I didn't play long, but I poked around a map for a bit.


    It never asked me for a path or anything. The optifine .jar file is in my downloads folder. I double clicked, and then... nothing.


    Maybe an issue with Java? I just downloaded/installed it. I set the .jar to open with "Java(TM) Platform SE binary". Is that the right java .exe to use? I don't know.

    Still not sure about Optifine, but I uploaded what I've got. It hasn't really been updated since late 2018, and I'm not sure what works and what doesn't. There may be work in progress textures in there since this is my testing pack, so my apologies for this being rather rough, but I figure if I don't just post *something* then it might be another year or two before I get around to actually updating and refining a real release. At least this way people can use and remix what I've got.

    I'm having problems installing. When I go to open the .jar file (1.14.4), nothing happens. A window seems to appear for a split-second and then disappears. Then nothing. Ideas?
