Is there any word on wether an EU-blutric converter still on the table?

I find it a turn-off that I would have to build 2 power infrastructures in order to use the "blutricity" parts of RP2, therefor I am not inclined to use them and only use the "redstone" parts of the mod. Which is a shame because parts of the system do seem superior to buildcraft.

All in all I think IndustrialCraft has the best and most realistic power system, buildcraft has a really cool liquid fuel system, and RedPower is best for logic and pipes. IC and BC have pretty good integration, but RP is lacking in this aspect. A converter would be a big step forward.

Uh... You know *nothing* about power systems in real life. Blutricity is modeled after real electricity, surprisingly accurately, very realistic. IC2 is the least accurate actually; its power is more like a lossy network packet transmission. BC is more cellular so it is a better fit, but it is still no where near realistic.

    A converter is coming though.

Can you elaborate on how BC's fluid is better? It is both slower, less responsive, not pressured, and cannot pull from as far as RP2's. RP2's is actually rather accurate to real life too, BC's is not, not as accurate as Blutricity is to real life electricity, but far far closer than BC's, which is more like a cell model.

I noticed that creative inventory reacts wrong when stacking items with same ID but different metadata (if there's same id, it stacks even when i am pointing at different item)

Happens in my mod too, and normal wool and such, just a creative bug. EDIT: Not just creative, but in the latest snapshot it looks like it affects the automatic recombining as well, they have a few checks wrong it seems.

You already can. Just slice a marble block up into microblocks and place them down. :)

Then deal with TMI's bug and lack of features, you now know how limited it is in displaying 'too many items' that NEI handles just fine, so your choice then. ;)

Have you tried actually 'making' them? Because if you are using TMI, well, TMI is broken, do not use it. ;)

Hey Eloraam, I'm trying to put this on my Private server, The family that mines together stays together as they say. I installed; Core, Wiring, World, Logic and Machine The Blulectric furnaces showed up, however when I tried to give a battery box it says that the ID doesn't exist. How do I fix it? I looked in the config file but saw nothing for the battery box.

I saw entries for The batteries themselves but no Battery box.

    Thank you in advance.

That is just about 100% of the time caused by IDs not matching between server and client. Be sure to copy the server IDs to all the clients. Hopefully a later-coming forge pull will fix this.

Thanks for the intelligent, mature and respectful answer to my question.

I just wish el would get off her high horse and give us the option to disable the damn things, or at least build them to blend in.

Or you could quit being an idiot and do a little research. The World changes (including volcano fixes and more) are slated for PR6.
Just as an intelligent post should get an intelligent answer, consider the vice-versa. You should quit being so full of 'your'self.

I have 3 left in my SSP world, yikes! One of the reasons I don't use Teleport Thingies anymore, since it switched from just 3 IDs to 6 instead of using a single one and damage values.

The EnderStorage mod should fix all your pipes/tubes teleportation woes in regards to items, at only 1 ID.

Only to a few on IRC, but not for 1.2.5. It is updated, but right now it is being integrated into my large mod, which will be released later on.

I would have to argue against that. Making any block in the game into a lever or button is an amazing thing.

But I'll wait and see what Eloraam throws at us.

    Hmm?

I just fixed the Cobblestone generators!!!!
Now I don't have to worry about people mass producing Cobblestone and scrap on my server.
Basically I made it so instead of Cobblestone that gets generated. Glass does instead. You don't receive a drop for breaking glass. Even the block breaker will not give you a drop.

Glass can still be collected if you have silk touch. But I disabled enchantments on my server so I don't have to worry about that.
    Proof??

My Finite water mod uses up lava to make cobble, 1/8th of a full lava block per cobble, so you can get 8 cobble per full lava block, *if* perfectly optimized and set up. ;)

Hey, Eloraam. I was wondering if you could either Private Message me or reply to this message with the name you use for your Flax Seeds in your modding. I've released a mod (No More Tall Grass) and someone (JordynX) commented and asked if I could add a function to have your Flax Seeds still available. I would give you credit in the forum and link back to this page.
    Thank you,
    Yourock129

RP2 uses the standard Forge callback hooks to handle that. If you just use the Forge callback hook (look in EntityGrass.java or whatever it is and search for "Forge" to find how it is used), then just add it to your class, and that means that it will also work with 'my' seed drops as well, and harvestcrafts, and others. :)
Maybe you can add seed dropping back to hoes? Will work fine with the forge hook, it is arbitrary :)

BC2's legacy IDs are stomping on RP2's IDs. You do not need BC2's legacy IDs anyway, go in the BC config file and disable the legacy pipes option, that is only for BC*1* worlds.

Baring the tree farm all of these look like they would work, tree's grow differntly to all of the other items on your list, there's a couple of ways to do it, but niether of which I would want to use, but realy, for something like this, forestrys you best bet

Actually an automated tree farm with RP2 as-is is still quite possible, and with frames it will be a great deal more powerful as well (although less simple).

Builcraft templates/blueprints could do this now, plus unless there's somesort of frame that can bend corners likely impossible with RP on it's own

Frames cannot turn, but they can indeed move down corners, or any direction, just without turning.

Such "one per World" projects would work best with templates/blue prints these are saved seperatly and designed to be shared, so unless control programs end up similar it will mostly be a waste of time to write them, plus if you muck up it could take a lot of fix

Control programs with RPControl are indeed sharable, and they are very simple write. Blueprints however can built exceedingly complex things, with no real work.

This applies to the above two sections as well, would require too much BC crossover need to make any possible machined componets, logsitices pipes might help, but you would need up with two pipe networks that would rely on each other but can't talk, lots of fun getting that to work

Why would you need any BC cross-over as well? Everything mentioned is possible with frames and other PR5 tools, except it requires more brain power (something that, admittedly, many people are lacking).

    Quote from kylania

Is the quarry what everyone is complaining about as a "magic block"? Because to set one of those up properly you need to first find an oil source and setup the collection and storage of the oil. Then you have to set up a refinery to turn that oil into fuel. Than you have to setup an engine system with cooling and fuel piping. Then you have to get that power to your quarry while trying desperately not to have everything explode. Then once all that's done you need to setup some kind of transportation for the items and probably sorting system to deal with all the stuff you're getting.

    That's hardly a "magic block"...

As others said it is not the steps in set up, but rather the complexity. Setting up that entire production line (even though you could just use steam, but for the sake of discussion we shall use fuel) is very linear, you literally just set down machines, plop down a few energy pipes and a few waterproof pipes, and even if you hook them up wrong they will still work, you just need to build and place the stuff. It requires a lot of resources, at times very stupid resources (diamond gears, really, that would be so brittle...), but it requires no brain power. Most of the 'techies' that play Minecraft do so because it gets them thinking, like a good game of Sudoku or Chess or Go. It is determinant, it is fun, and that is why we hate things taking the mental work out of it as it then becomes boring.

Actually, I hate to disagree, but there are a couple significant changes to the renderer in Forge. It's why Optifine needs a special version to work with it.

Ah, I have not ran across them yet then. ;)

    Quote from petrus4

We might have a forge compatible independent (as in, non-buildcraft or other pack based) automatic workbench when the next version of forge comes, too. RP users could potentially use that without having to install buildcraft if they are content purely with your tubes, Eloraam.

You know that immibis' TubeStuff mod already contains one right?

    Quote from Bromoc

I've been thinking of doing one of vechs' maps with redpower (and for it to work properly EE and cheat with the tome of all knowledge or what every its called) And recording this, on hardcore. I'm really not that good vanilla mechanics wise. Just wondering if this could be entertaining, and which map should I do?

Once I get the volcan amululet, and the flight ring things will be easy on most maps (asuming I get that far), But i want to spotlight redpower. I'll record everything but cut out the very boring parts (Sitting around in a hole while monsters spawn around me) Would you be intrested in watching this? I want to give back to the community that has provided me with alot of entertainment.

of course there is the option that the first time i die i loose but don't have the map deleted, my punishment? I finish the map. But it is still kept on hard. Might be a better long term redpower promotion.

Legendary, or Kaizo(sp?) Caverns I would say.

    Quote from natchu96

It seems that redstone wire (most likely all types, as it happened to black jacketed wires) seem to visually try to connect to eldritch stone blocks from TC2. Not that it really changes anything, as those things don't seem to conduct current at all anyway, but it's worth a note.

I think that happens when a block defines itself in code as using a redstone signal for some purpose, are you sure eldritch stone does not? ;)

I found the issues. In the old days if ID's did not match from client to server then there was no connection allowed. Now it seems if the client ID's do not match the server's the connection is still allowed, but some items might not be craft-able.

I cleaned up all the ID's and made sure they match from client to server

Never was like that, as far back as I recall (which is alpha days), mis-matched IDs caused bugs like that.

I'm actually quite calm- My posts just always tend to have an aggressive tone.

Liquid Tubes are in the works, frames are being finished, and frames are delaying things because of a few issues. Oh, and a total rewrite of RP's Logic(I believe) part.

That's what's been said recently for anyone who hasn't kept up.

    Quote from L5_

This actually sums up my feelings as well. I actually rather prefer that Eloraam take her time; partially because I really can't afford to get distracted right now, but also because she produces quality work that requires lots of time and dedication. She hasn't disappointed us yet, why should we not have a little faith? She's earned it, and then some.

She's dropped plenty of hints over the past few weeks, and there is an unofficial/incomplete list of what we might see in PR5.

A brief list, roughly organized from certain to questionable:

    Frames
    IC/BC/Blutricity power converters
New logic tiles, possibly including sensors
    Liquid transport pipes and pumps
Heat transfer devices, mostly for tier 2 power generation
    Tier 2 power sources
    Lasers/mirrors (?)
Also keep in mind that she never reveals everything in a release beforehand. But the surprise is half the fun.

Do not forget the chemistry stuff that she has mentioned so as to be able to make rubber and other things.

Java of course, since everyone here would have it anyway. ;)

Either way, the reason of my post:
