Dec 27, 2010Oslarathos posted a message on Protogenoi - Check out Bloodbath and our other servers! The races all work.Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)
Also worked on code that makes specific areas of the map regenerate after some time.
Dec 8, 2010As some of you know, traps have been implemented into Prospect, I've also re-written the region system to use UUID's instead of strings to identify them. This is to resolve a problem that occurred if a region was disbanded and then re-established when a former member was offline.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Multiplayer Discussion
Also, some more guilds are being worked out.

You didn't investigate anything and banned me because your friends lost a fight. I wear armor and bring food with me, it takes more then a few hits to kill me.
There are lots of things that need investigating, and I don't have the time to do it. And the other admins apparently can not be trusted.

A question first off: When a situation arises, who trusts friends who can't be trusted to not abuse their admin powers?
I can, I don't know why you wouldn't trust your friends because they can't handle being admins. Seems like they aren't really your friends then.

And yet your group didn't delete the bugged arrows? Just totally took advantage of a bug? Explain to me the difference between that and duping?
I actually have very little to do with the group, I created in when testing the region codes limits and block protection, most of what happens there doesn't involve me. The arrows were destroyed anyway so it doesn't concern me further.
In either event, they lost their admin powers so it won't be happening again.

Lang, you took a bribe and admin'd a hacker (Frank), you also unbanned a hacker (pimp). You turned your back on the community who cared about this server. You befriended a group of people known as pricks. this includes (but is not limited to) Justintime4you, Pimpnasty, FanksucksDick, EpicPoodle. All of these people above either hack, spawn, dupe, and grief. They are the lowest of the low and you befriended them and took their side over the rest of the community.
This is not a rant about stuff done to me personally, i am saying this for the community. Even though it will probably be taken down before everyone reads it.
Lang your an idiot for doing all this so goodbye and have fun with your shitty staff who abuse power and "hack"
Ya know, I should have known this server would be a problem when I read this post, but I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong. Everything in the quoted post is true as far as I can tell.
Avoid this server, the admin plays favorites with his group of friends and they basically grief everyone on the server with their admin powers. I was banned for "hp hacking" because I killed some of the admin's friends and they got pissed and told the admin I was hacking. The admin and their friends also dupe while banning others who dupe. We infiltrated the admin base and found a large chest with ~3500 arrows in it in a room labeled "store room" and when we called them out on it they claimed they got all of them legitimately, then, later, when we brought it up again they claimed that they got them through a bug and not duping. (And yet conveniently did not get rid of the "bugged" arrows)
This server would be great if it weren't for the admin and their friends, but as it stands now it is basically unplayable.
A question first off: When a situation arises, who trusts strangers over their friends?
I understand that it was a bad idea to give admin to some of my friends, they were quick to abuse it and they have had it rescinded. Also, before you accused us of duplicating arrows, did you know enough about SMP to realize that there was a bug with arrows where it would spam your inventory with them when trying to pick them back up?
I suggest you pay closer attention to SMP's development blog before blatantly accusing us of duplicating arrows in the same manner you were accused of health hacking. Ironic
Nov 30, 2010I think it happens when http://servers.minecraftforum.net/ tries to check if your listed server is online, don't quote me on it but once we bound the server to another one, it stopped crashing. I'm certain it is connection related in either case because the class in question has something to do with sockets and such.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Multiplayer Discussion
Nov 30, 2010From what I am deducting, I think it's caused by that thing that keeps track of online minecraft servers by connecting to them temporarily every so often, I can't remember it's name, whatever limits a listing to 1000GC. We bound the server to one of it's other IP addresses and we haven't crashed at all yet.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Multiplayer Support
Nov 30, 2010HazeNET IMO was a good choice for a small server. It was fast when left on the CentOS operating system and performed quite well hosting the minecraft server.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Multiplayer Discussion
The only reason I opted out afterwards was because they didn't offer any large packages and I wanted to scale Prospect up to around 40 players.
Nov 24, 2010Working on a public source hmod alternative, I'll share the obfuscation information I've been gathering so far for Hey0 to use, I've never unobfuscated before though.Posted in: Server Support and Administration
er - Player as - Player's name a - Kick c( [ Optional ] String ) - Reason
Also, I am assuming that the new variable
private int bu = -1;
is the player's health.
