Guys, I have a problem with the Sildur's ENHANCED shader.... whenever I set the weather to rain it doesn't show the rain particles, and the rain drop effect... somebody know how to solve this?

Are you sure you didn't turn it off in Optifine and forget to turn it back on? Make sure "rain and snow" and "rain splash" are both on in video settings.

There's a weird bug in Vibrant 1.19 that occurred for me when I left server A while in the nether and joined server B in the overworld.

Hey there, I have messed with the sound system few months ago and I can tell it's a complex thing. What I wanted to achieve is adding effects like reverberation (there was a mod which achieved that, but is not updated) and giving player more control over music (I personally wanted to make creative mode music play in survival as well). But for that one has to replace the current sound system with different one in a hacky way... I achieved adding creative music to survival and loading extra music tracks, but there is a problem with it. The way minecraft works with music is it loads it into memory first (caches) and plays on demand. Thus, depending on the file size, the game loading time can increase by several minutes. I stopped there and kind of abandoned that project, but if there were modders interested in this, I could open my project on github for contributions... Although I doubt there are enough people interested in this.

As for how to begin modding: you should not watch video tutorials; you should start with simple things. Sound system is quite complicated, it is far from newbie's reach...

Yeah, one of the reasons I wanted something like this was to listen to the creative mode music in survival. I love the reverb idea! That's a real bummer with the way Minecraft handles music. I wonder if there's a way of circumventing that by overwriting that part of Minecraft's sound system and creating an independent one that works differently.

posted a message on Bark Logs in 1.12 (mcfunction DL)

Originally I made this for personal use on a server with a few friends but I decided to share it since I couldn't find anything like it elsewhere. It's an mcf script that lets you build with six sided bark logs in 1.12. Since you can't obtain six sided bark logs in your inventory in pre 1.13, this was the best method I could think of. Any improvements are welcome!

    - Run /trigger Bark add 1 and any logs you place will become bark logs

    - There's a chat prompt that you can click to place normal logs

    - Works with all log types

    - Only logs that are placed vertically will be six sided so you have control over the grain of the wood

    Installation

    Download and extract barklogs.zip

    Find .minecraft/saves/yourworld/data/functions

Drop the unzipped barklogs folder into "functions"

Open Minecraft and run /gamerule gameLoopFunction barklogs:barklogs

I have an idea that's been done a few times but never done right. A mod that revamps the music side of the sound engine, adding an environmentally-aware soundtrack and the ability to add more music to the game. There would be a list of different events that the game would check for (e.g., raining, deep underground, etc.) and it would play that event's corresponding soundtrack. Events would take priority but if none are triggered, the game would have a chance of playing a song at random to break up any repetition. The songs and events could be customized from a config file.

The problem with the mods I've used is that they implement it poorly. What happens is the music will kick in when an event is triggered and as soon as the event ends, the music gets cut off and another song begins playing because a new event was triggered. I would love to see a mod that resurrects this idea and fixes that.

I've even played around with the idea of learning Forge modding to create this but I don't know where to begin; It's very daunting. There are a lot of tutorials that I've watched that are well spoken but they aren't helpful when you're trying to write a mod that that no tutorial exists for. Where do you even begin? Even if you don't work on my idea, I'd really appreciate any tips you have on where to start something like this as someone with very minimal coding experience. Thanks.

Are there any safer alternatives to adfly you could switch to? I don't feel safe using adfly anymore. My screen just got flooded with pop-ups, dialogues and a computer narrator voice after I hit "skip ad".

Can anyone explain why it looks like this? Only populating 1/4 of the screen. (the blue is part of the window)

Using latest 1.13.1 release of Optifine and latest release of Sildur's.

I recall last time it was an issue with turning off antialiasing because everything was upside down. I tried adjusting all the settings, but nothing made it fullscreen.

    1/4 full

Not sure but maybe mess around with the resolution in minecraft and make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date?

Could you make the DoF transition smoother so it doesn't activate instantly but it adjusts slowly? Because when you mine or eat, DoF kicks in and you rapidly focus and unfocus on the particles it causes and it looks all wonky.

Loving the shaders! It's renewed the game for me.

I'm using vibrant medium 1.171 and my average fps is 30, maximum of 60. I dip as low as 20 when it's raining. I'm running a Ryzen 3 1200 with a GTX 1050 Ti 4gb. I can run vibrant extreme 1.17 at a solid 60 fps in 1.12.2. I'm not alone here, right? Is this just 1.13.1 being stupidly unoptimized?

Sorry, Persti, but I'm gonna have to deny you. We appreciate you applying though.

posted a message on Can you make huge block models?

I was wondering if it's possible to make huge block models. I couldn't make anything bigger than 2x2x2 in-game otherwise it would turn pink and just show up as a single block. Is there a way to make them larger than that or does the game limit it?

This is pointless and over complicated to have a different variation of the redstone block. Mojang adds things that offer a plethora of solutions to problems and you only listed one application for your idea and it's already possible to power a vertical line of pistons simultaneously.
