Look guys , how many times am I going to have to say it. IM NOT INTERESTED IN BEING "A PART OF YOUR BIG PROJECT" UNLESS YOU ARE PAYING. The problem with that arrangement is that I get to do all the work while you sit on your behind and then when it's finished and you upload it and get all the views/subs/credit.
Oh, by the way. 3 minute long videos are going to cost you over $100 guaranteed. Think that's absurd? Go learn to animate and do it yourself.

AnUnknownMiner posted a message on Applying to be a moderatorPosted in: Forum Discussion & InfoQuote from Execute13
I am thinking of applying, because I feel it would be fun and contribute to the Minecraft Forums in a way I cannot currently, but I'm not sure if I should. I like the forums and want to help improve them, but there are already a lot of moderators out there, and I can't be sure whether I would be good at it. Any ideas?
We are looking for professional and mature acting users that are active on the Minecraft Forums to apply. Their hasn't been any intention on not hiring anymore moderators. We will be hiring new ones until citricsquid or PuyoDead says so.... -

StealthBravo posted a message on Server Donation Chargeback FraudYou need to make a well-worded donator ToS. You need to explicitly state that donations are non-refundable and that players who file a chargeback will be banned permanently, no questions asked. You also need to state that donating does not exempt you from moderator or administrator actions (bans, mutes, jails, etc.) and that the player may be banned, muted, jailed, or kicked at any time for any reason.Posted in: Server Support and Administration -

TKYS posted a message on Hosting Requests F.A.QWhat I've noticed a lot on these problems are questions that are repeated all the time. There's not always someone to answer them, so I've compiled a list of frequently asked questions, that users can read and look at if they're not sure on something. Please keep in mind, that this isn't all a fact, and is always going to be optimized and changed.Posted in: Hosting Requests
F.A.Q
Sponsorship
Q Can I have a free server?
A Free servers don't exist, even if you don't pay for the server, there's always going to be someone who has to run and maintain it. Servers are a great way to produce money if you know what you're doing, and if you have an original creative idea. If this is the case, you're probably looking for sponsorship. If you're looking for a free server to play on with your friends, why not join another server?
Q What about sites like freeminecraftserver.org?
A If you're looking for a server with <4 slots that's not dedicated, this is fine. But technically, these servers aren't free either. You may be asking "how do these sites keep themselves up, if you don't pay for their services"? I'll explain this as best I can. Sites like this depend mostly on ads. Due to so many people wanting a free minecraft server, they get quite a lot of money from it. They also make you pay if you want to keep your server up 24/7, or want to increase player slots, or want more ram, etc... But still, with a site like this, how do the manage to keep so many servers up at a time? Short answer : they don't. They have a system where, if the server isn't used for x time, it'll be closed, and will have to be reactivated in order to play on it again.
Q Why are minecraft servers expensive?
A There are multiple reasons for this, :- They include addons that other hosts may not (example : ddos protection, dedicated ip, etc..)
- They're not a budget host (Not that budget hosts are bad, but generally more money is put toward equipment in non-budget hosts, please keep in mind, that just because a hosts prices are cheaper/more expensive doesn't mean they're better. I highly recommend looking at reviews before buying a service)
- They need food on their tables (this definitely is not one of the better examples, especially considering the minecraft hosting business aren't stable at all, and it won't always be a full time job).
Q I'm having trouble finding a sponsor/ no one wants to host my server
A Before I go into this , ask yourself "do I really need a minecraft server, why do I want it". I've gathered that one of the largest reasons why people want to run a minecraft server is :- Money
- Popularity
- Recognition
- The idea is overused (A great example of this is factions)
- The host can't see how he can profit from it
- You may be too young (A lot of people will be angry with this, before doing so, this isn't because no one likes 11 year olds, and it's definitely not discrimination. There have been many young people who have hosted servers/ gotten sponsorship. It's because, usually, the older you get, the more mature you get. This isn't to say that an 11 year old can't be more mature then a 16 year old, it's because the odds are against it.
Q My host won't set up my server
A I'll split this into two little parts, because this could be interpreted into different ways.- My host won't setup my service after several days
- My host won't setup my plugins
Q I'm willing to buy a service, but no one is answering my request
A You should allow at 2 days for hosts to reply to your request. If no one does, it may be that no one is able to do what you're asking for, or no one has actually seen your post. You will usually always get multiple offers very quickly if you're willing to pay for a service.
Q My host won't respond to my ticket.
A Have you submitted a proper ticket containing all required information? Here are a few things you should add in your ticket.- How important is the problem (I can't stress how you shouldn't exaggerated the seriousness of the problem. If a plugin isn't working, try restarting the server or seeking answers in the community)
- When did the problem occur
- Why/how did it occur (complete if applicable)
- Error log(s)
- Additional means of contact.
Q I want a sponsorship
A Look at this incredibly useful guidefor a good chance.
Q I want to find "the right host"
A Take a look at this useful guide.

Akynth posted a message on Free Minecraft CodesI just saw another spam post for, supposedly, free Minecraft. It was "from" (supposedly) someone who has been a member of this forum for over a year.Posted in: Discussion
There are several things I can pretty much guarantee about that:
1. The person didn't get a free copy of Minecraft, or anything like it.
2. He probably lost his forum account, too.
3. He didn't post that; either his computer his now infected with malware, or his forum account is compromised, or both.
For those of you inclined to go to these websites and give them your information, or download whatever they're offering, because you think you'll get something for nothing, remember this:
If something is too good to be true, it's either not good, or not true.
Nobody is giving out free copies of Minecraft (or any other program). They're not giving you money if you forward their email chain letters, either. If they're promising you that they will, they have some ulterior motive, and it's not good for you. The kind of people who spam up forums are, by their very nature, selfish. They're in it for themselves. Doing anything you want (like stealing from people like Notch on your behalf) is not in their plan at all.
Don't be a bloody idiot. They're not giving you something for nothing; they're taking you for whatever they can get. That's your forum account at the very least, and quite possibly your Minecraft registration, your email account, and even your computer -- which they can add to a botnet, use to scam your friends, or jack more information from than you even knew you had stored there. I say again, don't be a bloody idiot. This means you.
If someone is offering "free Minecraft codes" or anything of the kind, just report them to the mods, because they're not doing it to give; they're doing it to take.
Badprenup reminded me to add: Be sure to mention the URL in your report and ask that it be added to the spam filter. -

AlphaTimer posted a message on Enjin Shop or Buycraft?I personally think buycraft is more professional and looks cleaner. But if your using a really nicely designed enjin site, then the shop might be more convenient for you. Buycraft's problem though is that it costs money to have more than like 4 items I believe.Posted in: Server Support and Administration - To post a comment, please login.
