It could be a relative easy design and could serve a great purpose for exploring for users. The ease of scoping out an area of abandoned villages from a safe distance in the 1.8 update would give even more excitement to the player. Not to mention another use would be to check out an area without having to walk/cart/boat alllllllllll the way over. The power of the binoculars can vary on what setting the fog is on.
Here's how I believe it should be the set up.
Good idea? Bad idea? Best idea in the world?
I don't think its a good idea use wood. If it was Obsidian or Iron, that would be better. Wooden binoculars are weird. Still, i like it :smile.gif:
Main Monsters: Spider Jockeys and Charged Creepers
Their Health: 100 hearts
Own Health: Half heart
Daytime: 15 seconds
Nighttime: 60 minutes
Passive mobs spawn probability: None
Ghasts and Zombie Pigmen in Nether: Yes
Ghasts and Zombie Pigmen in Overworld: Yes
Pigs, Cows and Chickens are Passives. Also, you forgot the Sheep. TEH SHEEP IZ SAD :sad.gif:
Anyways, i like these Moas, exept the last one. Why? Because it's Hostile, and an dragon-like animal in the Overworld doesn't fits so good. The other Moas are OK.
5 minutes would be better because one night in minecraft lasts 7 minutes and also there should be a "leave dream" button so you could leave your dream anytime you want
Yeah, 5 minutes would be good, but i think it's too short, maybe 6?
And nightmares should be 10 minutes.
So me and some friends have started to make a custom map. And to help us, we've installed bukkit to help us work. We're trying to include the nether but when we went on without bukkit, the nether was different. Adding bukkit fixed it of course but how are we supposed to use it on single player without wrapping bukkit up with it?!?
I don't know buddy.....maybe saving the map you used and load it in Singleplayer?
They seem to long and I don't like the whole currency thing, it makes it seem like your there for ages. I think you should be in those states for like 30 seconds , not to long though.
Wow. Seems epic. Looking forword to the Dreams. Not so much nightmares. DX But the Invincible thing, ruins the survival of minecraft. It would be too easy to fight stuff!
I know Notch is working on the Dreamworld as well, so i decided to give my suggestion.
I've readed a good bunch of threads about the Sky Dimension/Aether/Dreamworld, and it got me interested.
So, here's the idea:
If you have 6 or more hearts you will have a Dream. It will be a HUGE cloud floating on the middle of the map, with NPC characters and Passive and Neutral Mobs. There will be an NPC Village where you can buy stuff to build to your hearts content, as you spawn with no stuff, and you start with 50 Golden Clouds, which is the dream's currency. They can be found at secondary clouds.
If you have 5 or 4 hearts, you will not issue a dream, and you will simply skip to the next night.
If you have 3 or less hearts, you will have a Nightmare. It will be a dense forest in fire, with Passive mobs running away, Neutral mobs hiding, and Agressive mobs killing everyone in their ways. It will also have NPC Characters fleeing. There will be Zombie, Skeletons, SuperCharged Creepers*, Spider Jockeys, Aggressive Zombie Pigmens, Ghasts, and Agressive Wolves hunting everyone. The sky will also be red, and all the clouds will be grey, also with an angry face.
In an Dream, it will take 30 minutes until the dream ends.
In an Nightmare, it will take 60 minutes until it ends.
On dream, the only way to get out of your dream is, either waiting until Dusk ends, or getting killed by an Neutral Mob. Falling will not kill you, as you will be stuck inside a bubble and be taken back to the cloud base.
On nightmare, the only way to get out is either waiting the long 60 minutes to end, which whill happen an Tsunami cleaning all the fire(and you will be forced to hide inside a cave, as if you get hit by the tsunami you will be killed) or being killed.
If you get killed during your dream, you will awaken with 9 and a half hearts. It depends on which time your dream was to know when you will awake(example: If you died on Dawn, you will awake on Moonrise. If on Noon, then Midnight. If on Dusk, then Moonset).
If you get killed during your nightmare, you will awake with only a half heart at midnight.
If you tame a wolf during your dream, there will be a chance that a wolf spawn 20 blocks away from you at noon.
If you tame a wolf during your nightmare, 10 wolves will come chasing you like you attacked them. If you killed an neutral wolf, then the 10 wolves will be tamed and will not kill you.
The only way to issue a dream or nightmare is by sleeping in an green bed. Red beds will not issue a dream nor nightmare.
Also, on the dream is hidden an chest on the very top of the clouds, too far that you can see the space. You will need to craft an Space Helmet to get the chest. This can be done by getting glass and Iron Ring. Place the iron ring in the bottom and the glass above the ring and you will get it. It behaves as a helmet. If you go to the top without the space helmet, you will be suffocated. When you get the chest, an message will pop up saying:
"Congratulations! You found the Aether's Secret Treasure! You are now invincible in the Aether, in the Nether and in the Real World! You cannot issue any other Nightmares." If you got a wolf, he will be invincible too.
* Supercharged creepers are stronger variants of Charged Creepers. Their explosions kills everyone within their 150-block range.
