Kinda glad for this. Too bad it'll butcher the crap out of a lot of servers, but... ...oh well.

posted a message on Creepers - a Closer Look
Here's my thought on the theory (yes, I tend to extend theories) - but I'm gonna warn, it gets a bit... ...creepy:

What if the variant of peat shown here is actually a fungal infection that can seize control of, disform, and mostly encompass a deceased corpse?

It would explain the moving behaviour to a tee; humans tend to socialize, so it gives a base incentive for the would-be Creeper. If you also look carefully at the creeper, notice how there's black on its feet, rather than brown, or a moderately dark green? Those could very well be parts of some shoes that the peat didn't want to cover.

With peat's explosive nature, the evidence that MatPat presented, and the links I've created, I think we've finally arrived on a proper conclusion of what a creeper is made of, and how they function (as well as why they'd "de-spawn" on occasion).

Is 20 Gold Blocks a better challenge? XD

Much. When I get a grass block to the biome in the spoiler I made above, I'll post my next progress thing then. You'll see my farm then.

This map is very fun :D
I just got done with all of the challenges, but they were not very hard so I decided I would make some harder challenges for myself.
They are actually quite interesting so I decided to put them here.

    1. Collect 10 Slimeballs.
    2. Collect 10 Magma Cream.
    3. Make a AFK-able source of Ender Pearls.
    4. Collect 3 Ghast Tears.
    5. Craft 5 Gold Blocks.
    6. Get a enchanted Gold Sword.
    7. Craft a Iron Block.
    8. Get a enchanted Bow.
    9. Get all the Music Discs.
    10. Get 24 Cooked Porkchops.
    11. Get 24 Leather.
    12. Craft 24 Bookshelves.
    13. Make a Sheep farm.
    14. Write in a book.
    15. Bake a Cake.

    They are all possible.

Take the gold blocks higher, zombie pigmen are easy to farm. xD

Try this one; I'm only 5 weapons in:
    16. Get 27 enchanted weapons

It takes 640 blocks to escape SkyBlocks (going to the "mainland"), at minimum, so it's not easy.

Also, found a Plains biome at -155, y, 125. Probe between there and -175, y, 125. That should make animal spawning easier, if spawning mechanics favor more habitable biomes. By 'y', I mean the 'y' value doesn't really matter.

Omio9999, animals spawning actually is rare. I had to wait many minecraft days to get a new animal. That was why #19 challenge was last one for me to finish. Squids was not fun to spawn, I got lucky and got one black and 2 white sheeps. I got one baby black sheep so I killed white sheeps and bred black ones exclusively till I had 10 black wools needed to complete that challenge (second to last finished).

    Multiple minecraft days? Alright.

Alright, so I meant to say that the passive mob spawner is at least 24 blocks away from the hostile mob farm. Sorry, didn't specify. Guess I have to measure my blocks carefully.

You have to be some distance away for mobs to spawn. If you meant something like cows and chickens, they only spawn on grass, and probably need to be some distance away at 25 blocks too? My grass area was fr enough to spawn animals rarely.

No chickens spawn when I'm at my hostile mob spawner/farm (well over 30 blocks away - can't be seen unless on 'Normal' visibility)

Just posting a link here to a zip file that will show my progress (map and pics): [Click to download the .zip file.]
And for those that just want pics, here's the Photobucket album: [Clicky link]

    Notes:
    1) I cheated to get rid of the block of bedrock. It was always getting in the way, and I had built too much to really do anything with it.
    2) I'm tempted to cheat in an enchantment table - that, or build my way to land after all the challenges are done.
    3) I have 64 blocks devoted to spawning mobs... ...any tips as to how I can get them to spawn, since they aren't on my end?

This skyblok doesnt work, when I try to break the ice no water comes from it it just breaks. And i played it on 1.2.5 so i could break the ice but it would refreeze and when i went to break it again nothing would come from it.

You need to make the ice melt. Figure out how to do that, and you're good. Check the first post about that.

Using it as stress relief - it's working so far. Also, I hate lagging while walking - it tends to end in a hot date with gravity.

Will post a screenshot later today (likely to edit this post). I first want to restart (for the fifth time already) so I can actually get to good building.

You should not need a special mod to play this map, and it appears as though you are following through the correct steps. I would suggest deleting that folder in your saves area and try to add it back in again as a clean install from the zip file you download.

Make sure before you start Minecraft that the contents of the folder have all of the files and things compared to similar save files you have for other worlds you may be playing. It sounds like you copied only the files in the root directory and not the chunk maps in the sub-folders called "DIM1" and "DIM-1" and "region" This is quite important that you get everything transferred over from the zip file, and not just the stuff in the base folder.

Found out the issue, and it's to do with Linux in particular - The archive manager doesn't like to keep things in their directories - and just copies everything into one spot. I'll redo the process, since I know how, now. Instead of extracting with the Archive Manager, drag it from the Archive manager into the place desired. It will copy perfectly, like that.

Sorry about that, (Learned about it while trying to get MCEdit to work) it was a software derp on my end.

Alright, so I tried to import this map as a 1P map, and I first spawn in a normal-looking world. Not SkyBlock.

Is there something special I should be doing to import it, or a needed mod?

    Steps I took:

    1) Grab the SkyBlock2.1 zip file from MediaFire (it's 2.0 MB, right?)
    2) Open /usr/omio/.minecraft/saves/ (Hereby shortformed as "MC-saves")
    3) Copy contents from SkyBlock2.1.zip into MC-saves (I now have a directory in MC-saves called "Skyblock2.1"
    4) Start Minecraft
    5) Play/Convert the world (It said it must be converted)
