I think that there should be building limits. Like, so that they can only dig 5 blocks deep in the ground, and below that, is just a unbreakable block. If they want hiding places, there should be pre made caves and such.
And I think you should, for the start, around the Cornucopia, put all of the tools that they will need. Ex: Weapons, Tools, Food, Wood, blocks and stuff, etc.
You should try to make the middle area like the Cornucopia arena in the 2nd book. That would be great!

As I have read the first 2 books and starting the 3rd, I have a very good idea for a map.
In the 2nd book, the place is a BIG natural clock. Each hour has a special event in a special area. The VERY center is the cornucopia. Its a little sand island. 50 feet around that, is water. And that is where the contestant's platforms are where they start. Outside the water, is 50 feet of sand. Outside of that, is ALL jungle.
I say, we cut the natural events, but keep the map. (Just make sure the jungle is trees,
Also, I say you don't do the day of preparing thing. What would be best, is to have stuff like food, weapons, tools all on the cornucopia island. From there on, they fight to the death.
