This is where the RAM thing matters. You need a realy good computer with atleast 4g of RAM. Also even mcpatcher dont support 512x512 texturepacks so you will need to install optifine. I highly recommend you using a 256x256 texturepack since sometimes 512x causes black/whiye screens to occur Hope this helped
Holy Crap, i never even knew MCpatcher didnt support 512x texture packs but i Always use Optifine for its Zoom (It never made it faster for me)
I think i'd rather use 256x then.
Also, i remember seeing a thread here when i was really bored of a guy looking for a 1024x texture pack. Thats Impossible to Run XD
Yeah I have a server that I am working on now It's still 'work in progress' so I would like some people to help me It would be great if you can join my server, but sadly I am a student so its normaly on at Friday~Sunday xD I will PM you the IP whenever I'm on
EDIT: Whitelisted your account
Thanks for the whitelist!
I got to minecraft daily so i can see if your server is up.
Hmm I think the amount of RAM doesn't do much difference. Perhaps you should check the graphic card ?
Oh and also congrats for your new computer
Thanks
The other guy said the same thing about Ram not Mattering, i thought that it did, then he started raging like i was an idiot for not knowing.
My old one started freezing alot and the display has flickering lines covering the whole taskbar so i'm getting a new one.
Also, do you happen to have a server we could play on? If not we can play on mine once i have my new one (It will be a bit of a long time though)
Texture resolution depends on your graphics card, not ram. If you want far view distance then you need at least 3-4Gb of ram and a decent CPU that can load chunks fast enough.
No need for a freaking Facepalm man, i didnt know, and you could have just informed me of that.
Ram isn't the only thing running a high-texture pack needs, you know. I have 8gb and that does me well.
I know, im getting a pretty descent computer, what i meant is how much ram do i need to allocate because im just upgrading my old computer and want to know how much ram i needed to be able to run it.
I'm going to buy a new computer to be able to play games without lag, and i wanted to know how much Ram i need to allocate to Minecraft to be able to run it. Any Help?
Looking at this up close. It looks like all you did was reize everything up, then overlay a texture onto it. No real work put into it. It may look cool, but anyone can take a stone or paper texture and overlay it onto a resized terrain file. Whats bad is most of it is overlayed with the -same- texture. even stone, grass dirt. It looks really weird.
Really the whole pack minus a few areas he selected to not add the over lay to are justwell... over layed with either
paper textures
wood textures
or over used noise filter. :/
Then a filter drop shadow on some other parts.
Items look even weirder. Really paper texture over the food? How does that made this 'HD'? Items really do use the same over lay as you can see a U shape in every one of them.
really as 'cool' as this may seem. ypsizing the default textures and adding filter effects and texture overlays don't make something 'HD'
But everyone likes it, It looks good, Your argument is invalid.
In the New Update can you make it so that in the options menu (The one where you can turn off cave sounds and stuff) Can you add a new button that can turn on/off Portal Sounds?
That would be freaking awesome if you could!
Thanks to OP, i remembered that i didnt comment saying my opinions XD So here they are:
First: Glowstone and Redstone lamps seem a but bland and it was hard for me to tell what they were, so if you can, change it up a bit
Second: I think Bows shouldnt have the arrow in them when you're just holding them in your hand, thats why i fixed it, see which one you think is better. If you keep the old one i'll still be using this because it just doesnt look right with an arrow there EVEN when you have no arrows in your inventory.
Heres the fixed items.png
Edit: I Put in new items.png file because old one looked bad
Also, you should retexture gold tools too.
Edit 2: I put in an EVEN newer items.png to fix the bow
