You may want to consider Lubuntu. Your laptop is quite low spec and I'm not sure if it'll run Ubuntu smoothly. You may be able to run Ubuntu on the thing but if it doesn't run well put Lubuntu.
Also, why does it have no OS? It should have an OS if it's coming straight from the OEM.
Also also, Minecraft probably won't run well on it.

Many popular servers, such as Mineplex or Hypixel, is being unpopular and stupid because of cheaters. Many people is thinking: ''Lol. That guy from country who is curve for First and Second world war is trying to say that factions and Mineplex sucks?'' No! First, Serbia is not curve for First and Second world war and other I not want to say that factions sucks, than Mineplex sucks. Also, lots of new servers is popping and dies because that servers is not popular. Anyways, multiplayer is will burn and only is will survive singleplayer.
I am have plant called Home Happines. I buyed it in Botanical garden in Belgrade when I was in exsursion with my friends yesterday. Home Happines is can fast growing and make something like a berries. I hope that is plant will be okay.

The Farlands were never an intended 'end' of Minecraft. It was a bug in the old terrain generator, causing the terrain to freak out at the 30.000.000 coordinates.
And since nobody who's playing Minecraft legit will ever reach that far, there's no point in creating specific generation for the edges of the map. No support.

If you not want to that happen again, you can go to most close lava source and that lava put to your bucket. After, you can make a lava defense.
