    Pigman movement is random at best. Humanity has an issue with seeing patterns from random noise. Those that appeared to flee from the Ghasts simply had a ghast fly by when their random path's brought them into the shelter.

    Sounds like the fireplace. Something is seriously wrong when a mob can spawn inside a fireplace.. (Of course I don't think fire lights under it so the block may have been very dark)

    Really well fleshed out idea if I might say. I kept trying to find issues with it, but I really couldn't. The only thing I'd like to add is that these cities and towns that are permanent should be very far into the wilderness, and one stack of diamond should definitely not be enough for a diamond. Maybe 5 stacks to a diamond.. maybe.

    Really though I like the idea.

    Even that would hardly make it much much worse to powermine. You'd save 5 seconds at most for obby, and for anything else, you get less wear at a faster rate..

    What I like about it:

    Monsters swarm out of caves
    Monsters appear to be more intelligent
    A good number in unexplored caves

    What I don't:

    So damn many at night (deserts hold atleast 100+ within spawning range for me)
    So damn many in caves that I've explored



    What I think he should do is return it to the way it was before, get rid of the height condition, and improve monster AI so they don't just walk into cacti, lava, or fire, and can also actively avoid/jump over running water.

    Cooldown should definitely not be that long. There would be no point whatsoever. If you have a cooldown at all there would be no point aside from using it on obsidian and fighting mobs. And it takes 3.5 minutes to mine 14 obby now, with a 4 minute cooldown every 6 swings.. Thats a lot more than 3.5 minutes.

    There should be long rolling plains, dry flat tundra and deserts, snowtopped peaks and jagged mountains, large hills and valleys with trees dotting the landscape. Not this same-generator new-material thing going on. (I'm not trying to be demanding, I know how hard it is to adapt a pseudo random terrain generator.)

    A single skeleton, smart, choosing the high ground and vantage points to hunt you while you ran out of arrows. Not walking in front of your sword, and keeping a distance is much, much harder than Ghasts. That is why I love skeles. If you don't have a bow, good luck.

    Nosferatu you just convinced me. Like seriously, I was agreeing with most of the people here, until you said it's a matter of building smart. I still don't like just how often mobs spawn underground however. I do like the increased spawn rate.

    I continuously get 502 errors when trying to enter a topic, everything else works fine, but topic pages don't load and 502 errors appear. I've noticed new posts keep happening so I'd assume it's because few others are getting the issue. If you have a fix, please pm me.

    Actually it's 8x (Check twitter)

    But yes, a portal is created in the nether when you travel through the overworld portal. The only problem is, to find a suitable spot the portal location has to change up a whole lot, and thus you won't tele back to the same spot that you went in.

    Having seven spiders chilling on your skylight is not a pleasant thing. Especially when they have a vendetta against you. (Luckily for me, one bucket of lava is the best weapon when running for your life)

    I have definitely seen an increase of mob spawns, at least near my desert home.
