Will this be at retail? I hate using Xbox Live...(Bad Experience). And I don't like this idea much either it should come out for PlayStation or come at on retail! I want real answers and no annoying things like "TROLL"
Post your ideas and comments here.
For a small indie game like Minecraft, it's more cost-effective to make it downloadable instead of putting a few GBs on a CD and paying for production and distribution costs.
It's not that hard to connect to Xbox Live just to download a game, and then disconnect.
Alright, I'm gonna first say that I love Minecraft and the direction its going, and can't wait for the full release. Please do not think this is a hate thread.
So I was looking through some reviews of Minecraft, both fan and critic reviews, and one major complaint that wasn't addressed with recent updates was the fact that Minecraft lacked a tutorial. You had to discover everything for yourself, including the controls. (Unless, of course, you went to the wiki.)
Now, I'm all for letting the player discover some things, but there are things in Minecraft that you would most likely never know if you weren't told. Would you of guessed how to make an enchantment table, or a brewing stand, or even a Nether Portal. Or even more and essential basic stuff, such as shears, beds, you need to collect a lot of wood, and night is bad.
Now granted, the Acheivment system does work with this, and definitely does help with the basics, but still. Can't there be something in the game that tells you the controls, and some basic(If not all) recipes? Maybe a tutorial mode, or even just a wall of text. Because, honestly. if Notch does not add this in 1.0, the lack of understanding can turn clueless players away from the game, and reviewers will give Minecraft a lower score because of it.
I agree. If I didn't read the forums, and I started playing Minecraft for the very first time today, I would be confused as **** all. The end product definitely needs a tutorial of somekind; Notch shouldn't have to leave it to players to find out how to play his game through Google.

This game was NOT ready for the console, and definitely isn't worth 20 bucks in it's current bug-ridden condition.

For a PC game, I can understand. But not for a console.

You mean Microsoft is a company that wants to make profit? Those bastards!
Time to grow up.

LOL
It's a game bro. Not to mention that servers are usually infested with whiny brats, hardly "high society."

I would rather play with the Xbox 360 community than most of the whiny brats I see on PC multiplayer servers.

People complain about the most asinine things on this forum. Especially when you can fix the problem by not playing on hard.

*OP goes on to generalize*
This thread is full of fail.
Only play with people you trust. Simple as that.

Get a mod. They are there for a reason. Normally I would argue that this isn't YOUR game, and what might be too simple for you is perfect for others.
But that is a moot point, because with mods you can make it YOUR game. So go do that, kthxbai.

There is no skill in Minecraft PVP, bottom line. Ceteris paribus, whoever starts clicking first and clicks faster will win.
If you want a PvP game that requires skill, play some EVE Online.
