So my world I've been playing on since 2014 won't sync. It takes over an hour for it to get to 99%, and when its on 99% going to 100%, it gives me the image below. I walked through Xbox support and did all the steps they told me (including deleting my account, hard reset, clearing all the cache for the console), and it still didn't fix it. If I truly lost my world, 4J I mean this in the most respectable way, go **** yourselves. This is the fourth time I've lost my world since Minecraft came out on Xbox 360. How is it acceptable for a game to to wipe all my progress 4 times, and to countless of dozens of other people? Hundreds of hours of progress gone, because I can't "sync my data"? Really? This is just so extremely frustrating to deal with.
This just happened to me too. Two days into playing and their is a game breaking bug like this thats affected me. I dont know if its even A good idea to play the game if it is likely to occur again.
I hadn't done anything besides dig dirt and save my game manually since it occurred.
It sounds like you just got hit with a bad save and the file corrupted on you. (This sort of thing used to happen a lot when I first started working on a PC back when they first came out.) Things are fortunately more reliable now, but it does still happen - a power flux, static, etc. or if you were saving online then even perhaps a fall off of your internet connection.
One thing that perhaps you haven't tried is just renaming the world on the Xbox. This does recompress the file temporarily and might (just might) get rid of the error for you.
I cant even rename it.
When i try to rename it, the menu where I type in the new name I want appears and all that, but when I enter in that new name, nothing changes, and then I get stuck on the level select menu, and no buttons work, so I need to dashboard.
This kind of sucks, as I've spent so much time on this world :I
I was playing on my world last night with my friend and we were mining for diamond, and we would save every 10 or so minutes in case we fell into lava or died. Well I ended up dying, but I saved the game about 10 minutes prior, so It was fine, so I ended the game. When i tried to get back on my map and when I tried to load it up, however, I was given this
I thought maybe it just bugged up, so I got off the game and tried it again, and the same thing happened. When i tried to load my world, it would just give me the mainmenu background, and nothing else besides the two button selections.
When I tap the A button, is makes the noise like I clicked on something on the main menu, and when I hit the B button nothing happens, so at this point Im stuck and need to go to the Dashboard.
Some backstory:
- About 6 months ago this same map had an issue where when i tried to play on it, it would freeze my console. I couldnt fix it, so I just put the mapfile on my PC, and about 3 weeks ago I decided to put it on my console again, and it worked for some reason.
- This is the tutorial world from when the game came out, I dont see why this would be an issue, but im just stating it, as it might.
- the last time I saved I was in a 2 blocks high hole with my friend right behind me, and my Y coordinate was 12
Some attempts at fixing it:
-I moved the map to a USB, didnt work
-I rehashed and resigned the map on my PC, didnt work
-I removed the Title Update, didnt work, but it did let me back out out of the blank background screen without needing to dashboard
-I deleted and downloaded the game again, didnt work
-I have mssed with my game options before starting, didnt work
-reset my nether, didnt work.
Anyways, if anyone could help me it would be awesome, I really want to play on my map again.
