On a side note, I'm loving how the moon phases effects the lighting at night.

Mar 3, 2014The nether seems to be crawling with Ghasts. way more than I ever recall, which is actually kind of fun since it makes it rather hectic running around trying to find a fortress seeing how I cant kill every ghast out there.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

when I spawn in a jungle I try to run out as fast as possible while getting some coco on the way. Unless you play with large boimes, no desert or jungle should be so large that you can't run/walk out in a minuet or two. I die about half the time, but make it out with(and sometimes with cocobeans) the other half
Yeah, I could get out normally before running into a jungle spider or the like, but it feels like a huge waste of time that could have been used punching trees to get a good start going on Day1.
My first go I did at this mod just the other day when I started using it again I didnt know about jungle spiders ended up finding a huge field right next to the jungle and figured I'd set up base right at the edge for wood and have all that field for getting animal foodstuffs... only to be cutting down a few trees and to die via one of those damned spiders.

Why trash a world or reset because of a death?
Death can be recovered from.
They kept spawning me in the jungle and it was getting annoying,, I had way more than 5 deaths, I probably had 20+ (Granted, after the first two on any given map I would just suicide hoping to get out of the jungles/deserts)
Feb 24, 2014Been a long time since I played, after 3 attempts, on the 4th I finally get a realitivly good start, have some chickens trapped in my safespotbase thing, good amount of iron etc, decent area as well, I go out into the far north, to find ocean in search of pumpkins, night rolls around while im boating about and I find out that squid are no longer passive beings...Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Well, time to start up Map Attempt #5

I started playing this mod again after a very long break, and I am amazed how much it has improved since then. All of the new hardcore features make it brutally unforgiving, but also brutally satisfying. The mod has truly integrated completely into vanilla minecraft. FlowerChild, you are a mad genius.
I struggled with this as well, but I do believe the new system is better. What you need to do is make a copy of the 1.5.2 folder contained in the versions folder. Rename this to whatever you like, and name the two files inside the same. Make sure that the json file keeps its extension. Open up the json file in notepad and edit the first line, "id": "1.5.2", so that 1.5.2 is replaced with what you renamed the files. In the launcher you will now be able to select this modified folder as your version. When you mod this with Better Than Wolves it wont get overwritten when you launch the game.

The new launcher is a pain when it comes to installing mods. Without doing some prep work first, the launcher will replace a modified .jar file when you try to use it.
This explains the prep work needed to prevent the launcher from overwriting the modified .jar: http://www.sargunste...he_new_launcher
I accidently left this tab open, I thought I had edited my post saying I had found that. D: Sorry for wasting your time but also thank you for taking the time to inform me.
Took me a little while before I just found a youtube video, granted I wasnt sure exactly what to search so it took a bit before finding one that informed me how things had changed.
Aug 25, 2013Edit: Nevermind, figured out how the new modding shiz works with the new launcher. so everything is on the up and up. time to read through the changelogs now to figure out all the fun stuff that's been added/changed.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Also glad to see you're still working on this FlowerChild, I was a bit worried when I thought about playing MC again thinking you might have given up on it considering all the people were giving back when I stopped playing.

I just gave it a try to make sure everything is working correctly and it appears to be. I also haven't heard anything from anyone else that would indicate this is an issue people are experiencing.
Sorry I can't be more help, but it doesn't look like it's on the mod's end. Hopefully that helps you narrow it down a bit though.
BTW tends to focus more on functionality than aesthetics. In the case of water, yes, you lose the ability to place it at will, but you get a lot more interesting gameplay out of the deal.
However, there is an aesthetic element to the mod, it just usually stems out of functionality. For example, bases built around HCB and incorporating aqueducts and such tend to look very cool indeed. It's just different from what you may be used to from vanilla.
I guess I must have missed something on the fresh install to not make it so fressshh.
Nov 18, 2012I've been away for a few months, recently came back and saw the 1.4.4 update and wanted to give it a shot on a new world (and fresh install) only to run into an issue where as when I try to create a world it just hangs on "Building world" or "Converting World"Posted in: Minecraft Mods
I've flipped through a few pages in this thread and haven't seen anything about it (unless I missed it) and thus ask for assistance.

I'm having some texture pack issues, including the fact everything is showing up as something else, Hemp as a diamond helmet, Seeds as a golden Helmet, etc. Anyone have any tips on how to fix it? Already tried a fresh JAR, wiping texture files, all that basic stuff.
Sounds like you're using Optifine..

I was wondering if we could please get toggles for Hardcore Chickens, Sheep and Wolves (Rotten Meat)?
I think I could possibly answer this question with what I'd imagine FC would say... give me a minute
Here we go
Aug 27, 2012with everyone talking about optifine I decided to see all the stuff aboot it. I've noticed that installing Modloader>BTW>Optifine, the game would work, but with the newest version of optifine Ultra it would have the issues that these screenshots have been showing (However, going back to the previous version eliviates these issues)Posted in: Minecraft Mods
On the other hand installing Modloader>Optifine>BTW the game sits at a black screen when loading and as far as I can tell (~10minutes of waiting) it wont ever do anything. and of course the meta folder is deleted.
Im going to try installing it like Modloader>BTW>Optifine, but then take the jw.class and throw it in there.
In anycase I'd just suggest not using optifine personally.
Yep, doesn't work just throwing the jw file in.
