I know this is late, but I'm in Seattle and have no way of getting to Bellevue. Would anyone be able to give me a lift to and from Downtown Park for MinecraftCon 2010?

Maybe. We're going to need details. By we I mean me.

I'm in Issaquah. While I'm closer, he's "on the way" if you go more north than east. Lemme know if it works out.

I just did a test and I seem to be capable of streaming from my phone. Gonna see what I can do about battery life. I don't know if it would last a whole three hours, streaming. It might, from a full charge. GPS drains it fast, but 3G and video streaming might be worse. Or better. Or worse. Here's my channel I'll be using.

    http://www.ustream.tv/channel/gamestick

Maybe when your computer/phone runs out of power I can stream the rest?
EDIT: Wait nevermind, I gotta go before the 3 hours is done.

How much of this area will be shielded from the rain? With the way the weather has turned up, my friends are likely to bail out from the event.

I think about 0% of the park is shielded from the weather. I may be wrong.

Looks like you didn't read the thread like so many other people.

Notch is coming to bellevue to meet valve (maybe for a business deal) and today he has a free day to spend with his fans :biggrin.gif:, so next time read the thread.

Said this in another thread, I will be streaming it live at ustream.tv/ConStreaming .

As in the other thread replied, Link is incorrect. Just replying to both so I know you'll most likely see at least one of them.

I will be watching the stream. Guaranteed.

Were not 100% sure we will be able to stream it. But for sure ill be recording and taking pictures :biggrin.gif:

This is probably too last minute, but if we're sure that its gonna rain, I know of a fairly large & quiet park next to crossroads that has a very sizeable covered area and 2 BBQ pits.

Let me know what you think:
    Arial View

Street View of said covered area

Crossroads park was already suggested and denied. Kinda wish it wasn't cause then I could just walk there easily from my house

I don't get why you guys are just declaring "lol 5-8!" I wish people on IRC would talk about Minecraftcon, I always try to bring it up. Maybe we could start a temp channel?

We aren't declaring it, we are agreeing on it so far most people have agreed on 5 - 8 and one person agreed on 3 - 6

5 - 8 PM it is then, everyone message notch to meet in the downtown park near the fountain at 5 pm. Overrule the person who wants 3 - 6.

Looks like the park is in the lead. Hope it doesn't rain!

    [Rain? In Seattle? Never!]

People not in this area won't realize your sarcasm.

Anyways I say we go to crossroads not just because of it being inside. But it has a very open area with lots of chairs and a good food court. The park is going to be cold and boring with nothing to do at all but a line of people wanting autographs.

lol, I've never been to Bellevue, I can't wait to go. It sounds so beautiful, but heck, I bet the downtown park in my own city is just as beautiful if not moreso.

So has anyone arranged a place to stay at the downtown park yet? I looked online and it looks like you can do that, I don't live close enough to Bellevue to do it myself(Spokane, WA for anyone who knows where that is >.> four hour drive). Just, from what I looked at online the place seems full to the brim with reservable meeting areas.

Oh, make sure the salmon doesn't go bad, might want to get it day-of.

You are going to drive across the whole state to see notch? Impressive.

I'd recommend Panera it's a really great place to chill. Crossroads is kinda far from downtown and bellevue square is nicer anyways so I don't really know why you'd go to crossroads. I think Panera would be best.

I don't think we can do panera because it seems we might get around 25 people. They might kick us out for not scheduling. Unless someone can get some kind of reservation?

    Notch
    please please PLEASE
    come to North Carolina
I wanna meet you and I would not be creepey

The reason he is coming to bellevue is to meet with valve. Not because the community asked him to. But he happens to have 1 free day to spend with us. So stop thinking notch is coming to bellevue because we wanted him here.
