Does anyone else cower in there house at night? It seems to me like a waste of gameplay spent stuck inside your dwelling. Or am I doing something wrong gameplay wise? At least until Notch adds holdable light-filled torches :smile.gif:

It shouldn't be a dramatic change.

If I was in support of really vile monsters for the game, I'd put a higher priority on "deconstructor" mobs. They wouldn't spawn on peaceful or easy mode (or they could be disabled via game settings somehow), but when they were allowed to spawn, they'd come out along with the rest of the horde and would start slowly taking apart player constructions -- cobblestone, metals, lumber, whatever, perhaps preferring to attack the weakest materials first. They'd not be too threatening to the player directly, and they wouldn't break stuff any faster than the players' barehanded dig rate (if that), but all the same, they'd make castle defense a more serious undertaking than "build a wall, put in some torches, maybe build a moat." You'd have to have murder holes in and above defensive walls, and enemy archers would of course be taking potshots at any defenders that peeked through those holes. Perhaps, once buckets were in-game, they could even extinguish lava or drain water if they found it between themselves and a player.

Anyway, I'm with Blackop on player-inventory "muggers." No thank you. Maybe part of the future multi-player penalty for dying could be losing 1/4 to 1/2 of your carried goods, but otherwise, I'd really rather not see inventory meddling.

Would be fun, I was thinking all monsters could do this, but at a much slower rate and would rather attack you. A specialized mob would help add up difficulty.

Digging a tunnel and suddenly I hit light, then a ZOMBIE JUMPS DOWN INTO MY TUNNEL. Needless to say I hightailed it out of there.

I didn't know zombies could track you underground.
