Hi guys, I have a solution. Check your ip address on http://www.whatsmyip.org/ because my ip changed, somehow. I don't have bukkit but I think this will work.

    Been there a million times.

It's all the same. Always check your IP every now and then to see if you have a dynamic IP before actually setting up the fancy server stuff. :P

Having the same issue with a vanilla server, using Hamachi to connect. It's not a port forwarding issue, haven't worked since 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 hasn't fixed the issue, if someone finds out a fix or hears the devs actually acknowledging the issue, let me know please

    Quote from Team_Subspace

I'm having an issue connecting to my friend's vanilla server as well. Everything worked fine in 1.5.2, but after we both updated to 1.6.1, I keep getting an error telling me the connection timed out. We've been using Hamachi and there have been no problems. He's currently working on port-forwarding to see if there's any luck. (We're now using 1.6.2)

Like I said, anyone can join my server when it's vanilla. We've also been using Hamachi forever until recently when I found out my computer could handle more than 5 people on a server without it, so we switched and it still worked.

Up until I made it bukkit and used the run.bat instead. But whenever I use the minecraft_server.jar it runs perfectly fine, but doesn't apply the bukkit files to it.

So we seem to be having a related problem, but at the same time two completely different server issues. Is it a problem with 1.6? Considering Telliz/Team_Subspace's problem, I don't think bukkit is the issue.

By the way, have you set up a network on Hamachi, Telliz?

And Team_Subspace- are you in your friend's Hamachi network? I would assume so considering you haven't had problems before on the server.

Keep in mind though how fast the average horse travels. If 'warrior' zombies (or nether horse warriors) are traveling this fast then imagine what sieges and nether fortresses would be like. However, unless they change the undead horses to be damage dealing/not passive, then perhaps they could appear in peaceful mode. It just doesn't seem right to have undead horses and not their riders though.

Which is where the whole hard/normal difficulty (plus iron golem minimum) comes in handy. Maybe only a warrior zombie or two per every siege, and in sieges only.

I wonder if zombies will ride the undead horses!!

It would make sense, but as the wiki did state- Jeb said they wouldn't add them.

    Let's hope he's lying to us :D

Yeah I saw this on the wiki, but of course this topic is in the "suggestions" section rather than the "we need this NAO" section. :P

Perhaps it's an idea for those modmakers out there.

Suggestions section. Never actually said I wanted them in the game, I was just collecting a discussion about the idea.

And I stated this all in the original post, I don't WANT a nether horse, the idea just came up when the first snapshot came out. After hearing there would be undead horses I thought they would add a nether horse. Finding out that they aren't, why not discuss the idea.

Edit: Now that I think about it, since this is slowly leaning over to the "modmaker idea" side due to the replies, maybe I should have posted this as a mod idea...

Holy shmoly I was not aware that they naturally spawn now. Rather devastating little boogers... fast... don't burn in the day.... and still has the ability to wear armor...

Couldn't this go in the suggestion section?

...anyway, you breed horses using golden apples/carrots. Sugar seems too easy use as a breeding item as it is found naturally pretty much everywhere- same with apples etc. In real life horses take time to mature and raise so that's the purpose of letting baby horses grow over about 20 minutes, as well as needing valuables as breeding items.

Also: They already have breed names. :P Or color names at least, haha. If you checked the wiki, you could see this. Or look below heheh

Speed is dependent on the horse, not the breed. Same goes for health. You gotta get lucky in order to tame a horse with good speed and/or health.

You can breed horses to get certain colors in their offspring, certain speeds, health etc.

Heh sticky-fingered zambehs. Think that happened to me too at one point, though I've never actually seen them drop 'stolen' items in the first place when killed.

No, Jeb has already said on his twitter that he would never add zombie or skeleton horses (nether horses, no support, I think it would just be an idea to add more content, never really a good idea, to not contribute more mechanics) and he left them there in the game files for mapmakers (if you read the entire wiki page it mentions this)

Yeah I saw this on the wiki, but of course this topic is in the "suggestions" section rather than the "we need this NAO" section. :P

Thanks for the support. :D It would be interesting to have a tamed nether horse (not sure about undead horses though as they might burn in the sun). Just imagine that... riding towards the sunset... on a red, saddled beauty... and burning your enemies along the way.
