Why are you interested in joining this server? Classes over, have the summer to enjoy, and can't think of a better way!

I've been playing Hex, modded minecraft, and Hollow Knight recently, it'd be nice to get into the habbit of recording or streaming. Haven't really had the opportunity until classes ended, I'll have 2 courses this summer but the relative time commitment will leave me with a ton of time to game. I work on generative algorithms for small game companies, but someday I'd like to create something amazing.

Are you a streamer/youtuber? Not for minecraft, youtube for stand up comedy and twitch for Hex TCG.

How often would you play? Hopefully a ton this summer, only have two summer classes and I'll have a lot of free time to enjoy Minecraft!

Why would you like to join?: I prefer smaller communities, especially early on, as they grow it's easier to get to know the people who are around often gradually in that way.

Do you agree with all the rules?: I do.

What's your favorite thing to do in Minecraft?: I'm fairly active in the modded community, but the downside to that is often they are a few updates behind vanilla, joining a modern vanilla community allows me to rediscover everything I love about the game. In vanilla I like to explore the new worldgen, and what new redstone stuff n things you can build.

Tell me about yourself!: Finishing up a degree in mathematics, develop algorithms for generative games (mostly smaller indie studios) nothing on the scale of minecraft but certainly influenced by it.

Questions?: Nope, can't wait to check out 1.12, integral part of the intrigue is not knowing everything and looking forward to making discoveries and learning more.

Scratch that, it was just randomly stable for a while. Whatever the issue is persisted through uninstalling and updating everything x.x

Managed to catch it with the debug screen up when the textures bug out there's a huge fps drop.

posted a message on 1.10.2 Transparent/Black Textured Blocks (normal entity/sky/liquids)

I found by uninstalling every minecraft dependency and reinstalling the latest version and testing the game each time that the problem was caused by Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 (either my installed version was corrupt or it just doesn't work well with Minecraft) upgrading to 4.6.2 sorted the issue.

Hope this helps someone else but this is resolved. ^^

posted a message on 1.10.2 Transparent/Black Textured Blocks (normal entity/sky/liquids)

The issue is when playing the textures become either transparent or black for all blocks, with the exception of the sky, entities, and liquids in the world.

So far I've reinstalled Minecraft, adjusted my global gpu settings, unparked my cpu, and changed in game video settings with nothing solving the problem (For example changing the MipMap settings in game temporarily returned the textures, but they just vanish again if I move or change what I'm holding, also worth mentioning increasing the MipMap level fixed the issue for as long as turning them off did)

I'm using a GeForce GT740 graphics card, all of the similar issues I've seen are because of outdated Radeon drivers apparently so I hope the solution is as simple as finding the right legacy driver to play Minecraft with. The most recent 2 drivers had this issue, neither did the driver specifically released for compatibility with OpenGL a while back.

Been playing a long, long time.

In the search of a vanilla server with a small but active community. I like both private and community builds, prefer smp because when other people are playing succeeding in minecraft feels more rewarding, plan on doing streams and uploading content to my new youtube channel with vanilla content. (Hope the server is updated to 1.9 when it's released!)

    Real Name(Optional): Nicholas Ryan Iverson

How long you have played minecraft: I was around when zombies dropped feathers, so a while.

    Youtube channel(Put link also):

    Ignnicholasiv is my channel

What you will do to help the community: I'm an active member of any community I join, streaming for fun and recording when possible though I tend to only upload if the content is of high enough quality. I mainly work with the modded community but am looking to join a vanilla server as well.

What you are amazing(or best at) In minecraft: I'm a farmer and a redstoner, I like to setup ways to gather renewable resources (so much more is renewable in modded which is why I gravitated to that), everything from clearing out huge sections of nether to make wither skeles easier to find, to iron golems and mob grinders, semi-automatic wheat farms, bud doors and making things look aesthetic when I'm finished (be that natural looking from the outside or symmetrical with decorative additions which do not disrupt functionality)

A little about yourself: I'm a writer, theoretical physicist, comedian. I have Asperger's syndrome and am a 27 year old male who loves procedurally generated games and doesn't find understanding their mechanics to spoil what makes them interesting.

posted a message on Hermitcraft Inspired Whitelisted Server. We Want Loyal Active Mature Players. Amplified Terrain! New Map!

My names Nick, I'm 27 a guy my ign is nicholasiv, my email is [email protected]. I do use Skype you can contact me there at nicholascobalt. I haven't been banned from a server, I can play daily more of than not 7 days a week. I have an intangible quality that brings out the best in people, I'm the sort of person people play on a server more because I'm there, making friends or rivals. I wanted to get back into Minecraft, I go through phases usually when I server I'm very invested in ends I'll be less likely to go find another for a few months (which is where I am now). I can record and stream, I recently got a new graphics card as streaming destroyed my last one, my youtube channel is just getting started I prefer to stream but not against making new public videos on youtube as well. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjz5Su1ZsTvaKpyQ3W7_2Jw and twitch.tv/nicholasiv/ I can also get onto Teamspeak/Vent/Evolv3 for events. I play the more sandbox style games, prefer games that are seeded or procedurally generated to ones that are not. Besides minecraft I've been really into The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth lately (looking forward to Afterbirth here in a couple weeks), I like Sid Meier's Civ V/BE, I like leveling systems where what you do influences your growth (Elder Scrolls/MCMMO style) but only slightly prefer systems where you decide how your stats are developed (Fiesta/Path of Exile).

In situation 1 it depends on the items/development level of the server, if it's late in a server and there's some leather armor with fire resist 1 I'd assume a zombie died and dropped it and proceed to ignore it, early on same situation I'd check recent chat to see if anyone died and is frantically searching for their precious game changing armaments before it despawned and ensure they get it back (apply this methodology to any items and there relative value to the stage in the game and activity of community) I pretty much like to earn everything I get, but if I'm mining for the first time and I come across a spawner with a bucket in a chest you better believe I'm growing wheat somewhere safe in my base and not outside where I'm likely to die from the unfortunately timed creeper.

In situation 2 it largely depends on the nature of the argument, I don't discuss politics or religion 90% because I don't care about those things and 10% it ends friendships and I'm certainly not interested in that, if we're arguing about the benefits of Potection vs Unbreaking on armor or it's in jest (Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.) I might play along for a bit and then look for something more productive to do.

In situation 3 if I suspected someone stealing from myself I'd ask them about it, if I suspected someone stealing from another player I'd firstly assume they had permission from that player and giving them the benefit of the doubt ask them about it, provided they don't want to be banned I'd imagine they'd return the items if it wasn't on the up and up, I'd follow up with the player in question and I'd note the time it took place and to the best of my knowledge any items that had been taken in case administrative intervention becomes necessary. In the case of grief I'd note the location and time I noticed any potential griefing and who I suspected, it's largely based on the community you're in.

I have read the rules, and yes I accept the consequences for breaking them.

Btw my youtube channel up til now has mainly been to show methods, in the Golem Factory pack for example I was trying to demonstrate fastest way to move things with Thaumcraft Golems, also have a stand up comedy video there. It wasn't meant to be a a regular content situation but to play on a cool server I'd do my due diligence.

posted a message on HQM Modded Quest line and Awesome seed.
My buddy is working on an HQM quest mod set in the future, it's after a great war the land is ravaged and resources are limited, but as the population is drastically reduced and your supplies dwindle you set out to find a new home, get food and water, shelter from the many dangers at night, and to rediscover what it means to be human.

Open to ideas for questline and if you're familiar with the mods involved, what tech tree would you go down first, how would you plan to progress?

I mainly want the tech tree to be intuitive so having this information (preferably from multiple people) would give the highest chance of people not feeling forced into one tech tree or another. Are there any other quest styles you'd like to see? I've seen successful implications of shops and tutorials, optional quests, some mandatory for survival, bonus quests for the ridiculous

The main quest line will be partially exploration, resource collection, but what I've come up with so far to make it unique is with millenaire there are specific cultural items you can collect, turn in for reputation with that culture and unlock new quests you can do for them, culture trade via HQM where you can take cultural items from one nation and bring them to another nation for bigger bonuses (I was thinking reputation at first for Both of the nations, the amount would respect the distance you had to travel to bring them the - to people of this world - are valuable cultural artifacts from before the great war)

So far in the decision making process I thought it would be best to play with a specific seed, which would allow players to make single player maps if they failed in the provided map to replay the quest line, without having to redownload the world. The villages would always spawn in the correct place this way. Here's the modlist so for (the pack is running but without having decided on a seed yet and no quests being setup a release is kinda pointless)

MCP, Forge Mod Loader, Minecraft Forge (10.13.0.1208)

    Applied Energistics2, Applied Energistics2 Core (rv1-beta-25)

    CodeChicken Core

CoFH ASM Data Initialization, CoFH Core

    Not Enough Items

    bspkrsCore

    ArmorStatusHUD

    Thermal Foundation, Thermal Expansion

    Auto Packager

    Buildcraft

    Carpenter's Blocks

    Chisel

    Custom Ore Generation

    Deadly World

    Disaster Craft

    Ender Storage

    EnderTech

    EnviroMine

    Ex Nihilo

    Waila

    ExtraCells

    Mantle

Tinker's Construct, ExtraTiC, TiC Tooltips, Iguana Tinker Tweaks

    GraveStone

    Hardcore Questing Mode

    IndustrialCraft 2

    Nuclear Control

    Infernal Mobs

    Inventory Tweaks

    Iron Chest

    JABBA

    Millenaire

    Yogpstop Library

    QuarryPlus

    Roguelike Dungeons

    Special Mobs

    Another One Bites The Dust

Planned mods include Forestry and Binnie but there's an error loading Forestry in this pack as it stands and Binnies dependent on Forestry... works in SSP but for w/e reason the server refuses to load Forestry and we do want this to be multiplayer compatible.

Stability is great :) a lot of the Big bugs from 1.6.4 HQM quest mod packs are fixed in 1.7.10, deep tanks infinite fluid bug is out, drawbridge inventory dupe is out.

Definitely need an update, having issues with Java atm but the mod's they updated include Factorization EE3 Steves stuff and a lot more, the dual wielding mod is less bugtastic too. Also I can record now! New pc setup today instead of sleeping last night - got work early tomorrow so I'll be off for tonight but you can check it out and I can do some server advertising on Youtube/FB/Twitter. Look me up to see what the video quality is like - need a new mic asap though :/

The vids still processing but it's time for sleep should be public soon!

Can anyone help me find a small community vanilla server?

I'm super disappointed with what servers have become, there are countless upon countless servers out and there is hardly any difference between so many of them, flashy advertisement style banners and in game chat spam, clogged up with countless pointless plugins. 100-400 people online at a time having 50-200 conversations. Half of the servers claiming to be 1.8 just let you log in with a 1.8 client, there are no guardians or mutton or rabbits :/ Gaudy pixel art spawns, awful server hubs with crap looking in game menu's that look like chest inventories with named items - not sure who or why anyone would want that - the instant teleporting portals finish off the Frankenstein server that makes it feel nothing like minecraft.

Mojang takes inspiration from mods all of the time, but when they do they make sure that it feels like minecraft still. Dr.Z's horses, ChickenBones ender chests, so many of the mod and plugin community ideas that are embraced by the game - are modified to feel and fit better because the feel of the game is important. So many, too many, servers have lost the feel of minecraft and it's sad.

Here's an idea, if you can't play without bukkit, and bukkit doesn't have 1.8 yet, don't call it 1.8! If you want to advertise to people looking to play 1.8, don't use bukkit.

They aren't even 1.8 servers they just allow you to connect using the 1.8 client.

It seems like his inventory got lost on update to 1.8 not reverting to 1.7.x, he reverted to see if it fixed the problem, also minecraft only saves changes to chunks that get loaded even if items "should" have been deleted from your chests, if you never loaded in those chests it had no reason to even notice they exist

posted a message on Q about Forge Micro Blocks?
I think you need a saw to craft them, but I don't know if microblocks itself adds a saw, if it does I'd imagine it's a vanilla recipe with two sticks on the left and top left slots, two iron on the top and top right slot, and then two iron or two diamond in the middle and right slots of a crafting grid. Carpenters adds some nice stuff, thermal expansion adds facades to hide bc and te stuff. I know other mods add saws made from peridot, ruby, sapphire and amethyst.
