so yeah i use TMI whats so bad about that?

Nothing. That post had absolutely nothing to do with TMI. I didn't even know you used it, because you can activate cheats for singleplayer worlds now and change your gamemode that way.

Search for a version that uses JOGL 2 and not JOGL 1 as JOGL 1 is no longer being maintained. There should be a community branch that works with JOGL 2.

Is it on the Java website or is it a separate program that utilized that feature?

The title pretty much explains it, but I can't figure out how to use Java's 3D software. I downloaded the correct one for my OS, and much like the JDK, it left no icons or anything, which leaves me to believe that similarly to the JDK, the program only provides the Java Runtime Environment or so to speak, in which I got Eclipse to use the JDK. But it still leaves me the question, "What software can I use that supports Java and use this program?" Can anyone help me find this answer?

Edit: I posted here because the "How to Install" page on the website was down, so I did look.

    Thank you for your replies.

You don't need Terrain Control or Phoenix Terrain Mod to use bo2 objects with WorldPainter. I know the schematic to bo2 converters that are out there are hard to use, but I don't think they are discontinued. There are also tools with which you can create bo2 objects from scratch, such as Better BOB (which can also import schematics if I am not mistaken).

I looked at Better BOB- last post was middle of last year. Same for Pheonix Terrain Mod. Is it actually possible to set up Terrain Control without having to use the bukkit? I've been looking for more BO2 converters but I just can't find any....

Schematics aren't suited for this. You need to use bo2 objects. They can have blocks at negative levels, so that they are placed underground, which you could use for root systems.

I can't use BO2s because Terrain Control requires you to set up a whole bukkit server just to use it, Pheonix Terrain mod has been discontinued, and all schematic to BO2 file converters I've found are discontinued as well. Do you have a program in mind?

    Question:

I want to make some custom stuffs for my map, so I went in and saved some schematics on WorldEdit. I used them on World Painter, but I was questioning from the point I put them on whether it would somehow magically cover the roots underground.

    It didn't. Help?

I thought you might be interested in some statistics about the usage of WorldPainter:

Total number of installations so far: 106,299 (not counting upgrades)
Number of countries where WorldPainter is used: 163
Total number of times WorldPainter has been started up so far: 1,285,898

    Awesome.

If you're good with redstone, show me a functioning train interchange station for minecarts. If not, we seem to be lacking in minecraft full-body statues, so one of those might be good. Nothing less than 56 blocks high, and it can't be like the easy-to-sculpt minecraft player models. Maybe like a skeleton, creeper, or a spider (in which case I'd take 56 blocks long) or a real-life sculpture.

I'm exactly sure what you're trying to achieve here? :o

Sorry, this post was kind of rushed because I was very tired and wanted to go to sleep. I'll edit up top with this info.

Edit: Ok, decided I'd cater to the masses. Changed this entire post to a building and map design thread so the people who usually are in these sections might enjoy this more. When I get into coding and modding, I'll start a modding checkbook thread over there. Finally, once the server is up, over to the server section. I've sure got my work cut out for me...

Want to join Interactive World? PM me, or reply to the thread! We can discuss further then.

Hello, communtiy! This thread will be tracking my Interactive World Project known as Axios. Here I will post terrain updates and screenshots of structures and such for advice and feedback, as well as keeping a checkbook for myself.

Project Interactive World is my project where I plan to introduce a new kind of gameplay into MineCraft. Sparked by my need to muck things up and make everything harder, there will be a plethora of new features in which will need fine-tuning before they work. These features are inspired off of mods like Seasons, Terra-forma craft, Flan's Mods, Millenaire, MineColony, Humans+, Mo' Creatures, some various RPG plugins, and even some things like the medical examination menu from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Features like actually having to craft a handle, (of varying sizes) blade, and use an adhesive and/or carved joint socket needed just to make a simple tool are included, and I plan to bring in disease and treatment, degrading blocks which can be repaired or otherwise left to rot, advanced NPCs, biome-specific animals and set behaviors for animals, and tons of other things I won't list because this is the BUILDING thread, is just what Interactive World will be.

But in base, a world that runs by itself without need of a player, but the player can interact with and be part of, against, or ect.

    Terrain

    Come back later please!

    Buildings and Structures

    Come back later please!

    Checkbook!

    Terrain

-complete basic map terrain in height
    -create giant lakes and sea
    -create rivers and tributaries
-detail map terrain and optimize sections for building
-edit biomes and create BO2s for them
-make new stone, ore, and other blocks as needed
-implement new blocks as well as make beaches, clay deposits and ect.

    Buildings and Structures

-code in duplicate blocks needed to act as unbreakable blocks to build some areas
    -create main spawn area architecture
-use redstone wire to wire the place
    -create other areas
-[undecided, most likely 300+] locations to cover

Log- Here I post what I think about everything and all that guff that doesn't fit into the categories above. I'll post when I've got some real progress.

also can this program have custom biomes?, if so could you please make more that we could download to install. its really good

While I don't know about your memory problem, I do know that you can import BO2 files into world painter, sort of like custom biomes. There are multiple ways to create BO2s which I don't know, but a mod called Terrain Control can get you started. Once you've made the BO2s, put them in an easily accessible place, press the plus button near the layer selector, select "add custom layer", select the BO2 file and paint it like trees, resources, or whatever. If you want to use the existing minecraft biomes, you simply check "custom biomes" before making a world, and uncheck "automatic biomes". Then, just click on the Biomes layer, select the desired option, and it's on your brush!

you should make it where if you want to you can add tekkit ores to the ore field segment

That's what the populate option is for. Say you had thaumcraft installed? Populate would spawn thaumcraft structures. Say you had industrial craft installed? Populate would make ores for you in the ground.
