I'm hideously plagued by fps issues when a lot of chunks update on this laptop and often hide myself into a hole and give the game a minute to work it self out and what's happened this time, A Creeper decided hugged the wall near me and a skeleton shot it uncovering me and killing me instantly with fps rape.
Pausing for single player would be greatly appreciated at least.
Finally manage to load up a game and played for some time, after a while I discovered a nice underwater cavern. I swam down and eventually saw what looked like lava, UNDERWATER! So I swam closer until I was suddenly in lava and burnt to death, I know I wasn't drowning due to the extreme damage I was taking.
I'm sort of thinking at level generation water and lava managed to be created next to each other deep down and were ignored instead of creating a layer of stone where they touched.
