I was actually just working on a basketball player skin. If something like this is what you want, it wouldn't be hard to change the jersey.

Anyone can claim they took down the servers.

There is no proof that mojang got ddosed. Like I said before anyone can say they took down the servers.

Also mojang did say they were working on the issue.

You're right. Anyone can claim they took down the servers. In this case though, the group in question gave a five minute warning before the servers went down, announcing they were going to take down the auth. servers and lo and behold five minutes later...they're down. And then they announce the servers are going to go back up in a few minutes. And a few minutes later they're back up.

So either, they were DDOS'd by a known DDOS group or an actual employee at Mojangrosoft has hijacked the twitter account of a known DDOSer and is screwing with everyone. Which do you think is more likely?

As far as what Mojang says, all the official twitter ever says is "they are aware of issues." The Minecraft devs themselves have publicly acknowledged being DDOS'd several times.

There's no need to be pointlessly argumentative.

The mojang's server(s) are down. No one, expect mojang, know why they are down or when they will be back up.

Actually, a "hacker" group is taking responsibility.

    Quote from ArtOfCombat»

Multiplayer session authentication is still down for me. Is this another DDOS? Anyone bragging about it?

    Yes, it is a DDOS.

    Quote from Tzadakim»

There was a post about "Hoic Squad" or something for a short minute, but it got deleted quickly.

I just logged back on successfully, so hopefully others will have the same luck.

It is not Hoic Squad. It's a different group, with a different mom's credit card renting another botnet and pretending to be Neo from the Matrix.

    Quote from Lego_crafter4»

No No One Is Bragging They Were Just Down For A Fix

Yes, there is a group claiming responsibility for it.

    Quote from Afootpluto»

How do you know it was a ddos attack that took down the servers last time?

Are you serious? You can't be serious. I mean...did you miss the 10 million posts/threads/articles about Minecraft being DDOS'd? ^^

And once again, no response from Mojang/Microsoft. Boy it would sure be nice if they just reassured their users, hey we're working on it...or something...anything...instead of letting the entire game be DDOS'd the exact same way two weeks in a row and it seeming like they're taking a "Meh...ride it out." approach.

Btw, the auth. servers are back up. Or at least there's a break in the DDOS.

I checked it for you by comparing some of my own old skins to newer ones, it's only the bottom of the head.

Ah cool beans. Thanks for the heads up.

Are it only these skins? http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/needsfoodbadly/ If you send all their files to me by e-mail I wouldn't mind flipping them for you :)

Yeah, those are mine. You dont have to do my grunt work for me though.

But lemme ask you this since I've been gone a while, is it the bottom of torso, hands, fleet, and head that were all flipped in the change? Is that right?

Doesnt matter for solid colors, is obvious for stuff like beards, some things though like textured detail or pixel fingers I can't even tell though.

Well, it's not like I need them but I have skins on PMC and the change affected about half of them noticeably so naturally I don't want broken skins on PMC.

Since Mojang broke about a gajillion skins in the process I figured someone might have made a program to reflip and fix all the flipped parts. That said I couldn't find anything like that on google so I thought I'd ask here.

thanks you a lot. Does making a minecraft video where i make lot of tnt, stand near the tnt and saying that i was smart and then get blown sky high right in survival seem interesting enough? also showcase of biome is it great idea.

Hey, I didn't know people were still reading this! I know the reply is slightly late but you could do a montage of humerus deaths or perhaps a "dumb ways to die" in Minecraft.

You could make it over the top set to the 1812 overture or perhaps make a montage featuring more realistic deaths ala "Don't you hate it when..."

I just got back into MC recently and noticed they flipped the bottom parts on the Steve skins.

I'd rather not redo my original skin library by hand. Does anyone know if there's a tool that will automatically fix the flipped parts in old skins?

posted a message on Just how helpful is MOJANG is when you get hacked, they aren't

You'll have to forgive me if I have some doubts that you are a "degree information system tech" seeing as you claim that Mojang's servers have been hacked and that everyone's personal login details have been decrypted and compromised.

What's more likely is that you somehow compromised your system or left it open so someone else could compromise it.

If Mojangrosoft had been fully compromised as you claim then there would be a massive epidemic of stolen accounts and the forums would be crapping themselves right now.

Instead, you surmise that Mojang's entire account system was compromised and your account was singled out. Not likely.

posted a message on [Brainstorm] Most efficient (non-bonemeal/auto) 60x60 farm.

I'm trying to make the most efficient wheat, carrot/potato, melon/pumpkin, sugarcane, sheep (for colored wool)/cow/rabbit and tree farm (two plots for trees that can be swapped with standard types) on a single layer, e.g. no second stories, floating levels or towers.

I prefer either manual or semi-auto to any bonemeal based auto-farming. Not looking for mega yield, just efficiency (that could potentially be expanded in a repeating pattern for greater yield) with a little bit of aesthetics, e.g. Harvest Moon like. And no automated slaughterhouses full of screaming cows jammed into one block.

Doesn't have to use every square of the 60x60 and needs to leave some space of course for a homestead. Space left over is actually preferable.

I've seen the semi-auto, piston flood wheat farm already. I like that.

    Thoughts? Links to guides/videos okay.

posted a message on Haven't been able to upload my skin for over a week on Minecraft.net

I just got back into Minecraft recently after a long hiatus. I updated my client and when playing on lan at home, noticed I could see my old skin but it was showing up as default Alex on other computers.

I've been trying to upload my skin on Minecraft.net for over a week. When I select my skin and hit upload it either immediately logs me out or just displays the message that it has been uploaded but it never is. According to the support site it says the skin servers are up.

And I don't even have Minecraft running while I'm trying to do this. It just refuses to work.

    What gives?

Edit: It looks like this is a year old bug where host's skin always shows as default. Apparently, not a priority. Year old bug. Yep. Great stuff. https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-52974

You're gonna get that boy in big trouble.

    Quote from echonite»

Yes, a large portion of the internet gets away with things, that doesn't make it legal. There are WoW private servers out there with thousands of players, but they are highly illegal. The reason why things like that can continue to operate is because the companies just don't have the manpower to go after every instance of infringement, so they have to be selective and go after those who are profiting the most off their IP.

Heh, I'm definitely not giving legal advice or saying whether it's wrong or right. Just saying, people do it, legal or not. The actual legality of a specific item can also depend on a number of factors.

It's illegal. That's basic common sense. You can't profit off a brand you don't own. Period.

Mmmm...you say "illegal" and "You can't" and "Period." but...the ENTIRE INTERNET would beg to differ. And not just other countries that don't recognize copyright laws but the U.S. as well.
