I would keep backups of anything really important to me, so it would just be a bit of an annoyance.

posted a message on possible clone of minecraft???!!!
Does it really matter? Someone made a game based on another game. The end result is that we have one more game in the world, is that really so bad?

    Quote from WilliamNiira

I think that, no I KNOW, that Minecraft is the original.

    You'd be surprised, then.

    Quote from FnordianLoop

No so much surprised as dismayed, the fear of consequences being removed is based on an (as stated earlier) false assumption.

True, it's false (though the chance of any consequences is much lower), but the fear is still removed.

Even if it were true, does it follow then that following rules and showing respect to ones fellow person is somehow based only on a fear of consequences? That I find a truly bothersome idea.

Something to remember is that not everyone is the same. It is only based on fear of consequences for quite a lot of people. Others have respect by default. It just depends on the individual, but in my experience, people aren't too different online from the way they are in real life. It's just more pronounced online.

Thank you for providing a perfect example.
No not angry, just trying to understand the mentality that tosses common courtesy out the window.

First off, I kept common courtesy, as I usually do. I don't recall saying anything inflammatory. The fact that I'm amused by your post doesn't mean I automatically side with the others.

Perhaps I should reword and clarify my last message: "Why does it surprise you that something so common is more common when fear of consequences is removed?"

So... You're angry because some people are assholes? Surely you've discovered this before now.

posted a message on What browser do you use to surf teh interwebs?
I use Firefox. It's fast, the UI is slightly more slim than Chrome's, it has a great selection of addons, it doesn't track you (not that I know of, anyway), it has an actually functional version of NoScript, and it's hard to beat about:config for customization. Oh, and all prominent browsers have some form of private browsing.

For those of you who still resort to IE for the few pages that only work in it, try the IE Tab addon for Firefox or Chrome.

    Safari.

Safari is pretty widely known as the least secure browser to be commonly used. I'd strongly recommend getting a different one.

Also, on a related note, sometimes I feel like the only person who watches the show on a regular basis, has most of the episodes downloaded in 1080p, and so forth that neither uses a MLP avatar nor is a member of a MLP-oriented community.

Nah, you're not the only one, it's just that we're not very noticable. When we're not incredibly engaged in the community (I frequent the IRC channel for a pony radio station that I like, but that's pretty much all) and we don't have MLP avatars, we're kind of hard to identify as actually being fans of the show. There are actually quite a few of us, though.

Is there any chance you'd be willing to resize a 460x373 image to 1366x768 for a wallpaper? My issue is making the image sharp, I'm terrible at that. Well, that and all things having to do with images.

Something like this, except hopefully a good bit sharper:

Honestly, it's hard to tell when there are no reviews on sites like Web Of Trust. I wouldn't trust a site like that with any money, personally.

posted a message on Are you very violent when someone pisses you off?
I'm kind of difficult to make legitimately angry, but when that happens, I usually just focus on any insecurities I can find in the person who pissed me off and hammer those as much as I can. The only times I've ever done anything physical was twisting a person's arm, grabbing a person's throat, and shoving a person into a wall. All of those were in response to some form of physical contact, though.

posted a message on Favorite TV Shows?
My absolute favorite is Doctor Who, but only giving one is just so boring. Some other shows I love are (in no particular order):

    Psych
    Firefly
    MLP:FiM
Scrubs (before the last season or two)
    Futurama
    Man Up
    Community
    Invader Zim
    My Name Is Earl
    The Office
    Once Upon A Time
    Sherlock
    The Walking Dead

Hm, I think I watch too much TV...

I listen to a decent bit by them since I like Irish punk. I found out about a concert of theirs near me when it was already too late, but I plan to see them next time they come anywhere near where I live.

I think I'll buy one. It's a good product for a very reasonable price, and it streams HD video, so I can hook it up to my TV. As for Fedora, it's really not too much harder to use than Ubuntu, in my admittedly limited experience.

Honestly, it seems like they're just in it for some fun. Looks like a very entertaining way to have your computer compromised. Some of the comments suggested that it might be TeamViewer chat, so just boot into safe mode with networking, uninstall TeamViewer (if it's installed), download and run MBAM, and stop downloading stupid ****.

Life, of course. If I wanted to be dead, I would be. I see no advantage to being dead, unless it's a choice between suffering to death and a quick death.
