i thought of using the xp bar because in normal survival, once you get to level 30 you don't need to do much else to enchant since the new enchanting doesn't use that many levels anymore. but i also didn't consider mobs dropping xp.
for the bottles i just wanted it to give negative effects when drank without boiling it and for the campfire, i think it'd look nicer and i wanted there to be a delay on the water "boiling". i don't know if you can detect the cooking in the furnace, thats why i opted for a different way lol
it would be great if you could make a thirst system in a single command how i would like it since every one I've seen so far doesn't meet my requirements.
the thirst would be in the xp bar similar to mine z (also starting from 20 and slowly going down over 15ish mins)
Dirty Water
-throwing an empty glass bottle into water turns it into a potion with weakness 1and slowness 1 for 1 min 45 secs, AND hunger 1 for 12 secs labeled "Murky Water Bottle"
-the "Murky Water Bottle" gives back 4 levels of "thirst"
Cleaning Water
-throwing 2 sticks and 1 log on the ground spawns a "Unlit Campfire" (3 armor stands in the ground clipped into each other)
-light it by throwing a coal on it, lighting it for 1 min (the 3 armor stands on fire)
-throwing a "Murky Water Bottle" on the lit fire will make it into "Clean Water" and will give back 7 levels
-get rid of it by either hitting it 3 times OR (preferably) stomping on it
Effects of Thirst
-levels 18-20: strength 1 absorption 1
-levels 17-11: nothing here, buffer time (lose buffing effects)
-level 10: chat to self says "You feel parched"
-level 8: chat to self says "Your hands are shaky" effect: weakness 1
-level 6: chat to self says "Your vision blurs" effect: nausea for 8 secs
-level 4: you get the gist of it "You begin to feel heavy" effects: nausea for 12 secs, mining fatigue 2
-level 3: chat to self "You stumble as you walk" effect: slowness 1 nausea for 12 secs
-level 2 chat to self "You now feel the pain" effect: poison 2, slowness 2, nausea for 12 secs
-level 1 chat to self "You start to lose hope" effect: nausea, blindness
-level 0 chat to self "You fall over in agony and wither away" effect: wither 1 until death
any effects without specified times are continued into the lower levels and removed when a higher level is achieved
Extras (optional but it would be great if you could put this in too )
-Multiplayer support would be greatly appreciated as my friends occasionally like to come on my worlds and mess around
-eating food will deplete the "thirst bar" by 0-1 levels (somewhere in between)

-drinking milk gives back 3 levels and drinking more than one bucket at a time gives "You feel dizzy" and nausea 2 for 30 secs and slowness 2 for 15 secs (ppl trying to cheat the system and drink milk over and over)

-"thirst" rate of drain is doubled when in the nether
