I would call Minecraft, Lego's Bane.
It's what they wanted their game to be.

No one seems to be taking in account that Mojang, before Microsoft, was strictly a game development company. They did not have personnel who could look at the existing code and see potential security risks.
Post Microsoft, they have the people who can look at the code overall and see a lot of those serious risks that may have been overlooked. Also keep in mind that Microsoft is a target for malware and virus creators. As one of the top "evil" computer corporations, it's not unheard that sometimes people will intentionally try to exploit any security risk they find.
Personally I think the safety of my computer system and network outweighs adding in a few new items here or there.

I hear your reply and now ask that you actually answer any of the questions I stated in my post.
I also would like to state, that I never claimed it was OP, I claimed it was a ridiculous "first food" dependency.
And again with the fist fight analogy. Arms are required for a fist fight. Bonemeal is not required for wheat.
Please try and make a little sense when posting a reply.

From what I understand, you have stated in this very post that bonemeal is necessary to grow wheat. If I take your words and substitute wheat/bonemeal as appropriate.
"You can't really have wheat to begin with without bonemeal."
The argument is that bonemeal is not a required ingredient to have wheat. Which it isn't.
Here's my confusion on this. Bonemeal is received from skeleton bones. Skeleton bones come from killing skeletons which only appear at night or in caves.
New players are not going to think to hunt down a skeleton because they need wheat.
Why would bonemeal even be considered the "best" way to get food quickly when it's a pretty dangerous avenue? There are much easier ways to get food.

Second, there's really no reason to use such a large font. It's not a paid advertisement, and it's not really that exciting.

I'm sorry, I have to say no.

(sarcasm)Oh wait... Mojang said they would...
Oh well never mind, I guess it will have to remain a "clique" society of I use MLMP... We don't want no stinkin' Forges here... Forge can kick the bukkit! (end sarcasm)

Does this mean that mods which normally require ModLoader and ModLoaderMP will work with Forge, and does this also apply to the server?
If you try to run a server with MLMP and Forge at the same time, you get a long "not compatible" error and it shuts down.

Is the API supposed to prevent having to update the mod with each new release?
I'm confused because Modloader is supposed to prevent mods from conflicting, yet with every update it and the mods it supports need to be updated as well. I'm not a java programmer, but in the best layman's terms anyone can come up with, why must the third party API and mods be updated every time? Why can't there be some code in that adjusts itself as needed? Surely the base game doesn't change that drastically between updates.
Also, why doesn't Mojang integrate something like Modloader (and ModloaderMP) or Forge as an API? Then it will already be a part of the base game so it wouldn't need to be changed all the time.
It is frustrating to have to rebuild the wheel with every update, and I know that's part of why modders quit. So I have to revise my original request. Either: Please allow someone to Legacy your work and carry it on. Or: Speak loudly, but not at the community that wants your mods, at the company that hasn't kept up it's part of the deal so far.

The 25 Best Minecraft Mods -"Minecraft has the best modding community in the world. Despite no official mod tools being released, players are constantly expanding and adding an astonishing amount of new content."
And noticed the date on it: November 2011
Sadly a lot of these mods are dead. Not to mention all the other mods out there like Stuffed Animals that for some reason have just died off even though they were extremely popular.
I understand that people are doing this for free, and their lives and goals change so they don't want to deal with it anymore, and they don't want to let anyone else pick up the mods because it's their work. It's to you I am sending the below request, and I would like to think that this community would also stand behind this request.
Please, let someone else pick up your mod and keep it updated!
I know it's your work, and I respect that 100%. You should get credit for your work. But if you gave up on the mod and can't/won't update it anymore. then let someone else have it so it doesn't die. It's called Legacy, which means your work carries on after you. And in modding communities all over it's damn respectable. And it will make you feel pretty good about yourself when you look in six months and the mod you first brought to the table is still one of the top downloaded.
As one person to another, I know and understand your reasons for not wanting to share your mod development. As part of this community I beg you to see past them so that everyone can benefit from what you started.
If you are a modder that has an old dying mod that you wouldn't mind letting someone else pick up and continue. Please post it here with your list of do's and dont's.

If I wanted to use a skin in a texture pack, am I limited to the 16x resolution?
If I were to use an uploaded skin (which I do now), am I limited to the 16x resolution?
If the answer to either of these is no, where can I find higher resolution skins?
