If you are using Windows, Minecraft saves can be found at %appdata%/.minecraft/saves. Find the folder for the world you want to upload and .zip it up. You can then upload it to a site like Mediafire.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Of course, you aren't using Windows, I can't read. Give me just a second.
Edit2: Should be ~/Library/Application support/minecraft/saves on a Mac.

A good way to get out is, if you can't find your way out, to find the roughly highest point in the cave and dig up. A round staircase works, a straight diagonal staircase works, straight up works. Straight up will work and is the fastest but is also dangerous because if you hit lava, you have very little chance of surviving.
This is happening to everyone hosting a server it seems, including me :x
That's because even while you are hosting the server, the game still checks you against the authentication server, which is down, so you cannot get in. Doing what I said in the second post will fix it, although can be dangerous so make sure to set it back to normal.
Minecraft is being moved to more stable servers which can hold more people. Because of this, connection is down during the transition and therefore your client cannot be checked to make sure it is legit. Patience is the only solution.
The authentication servers are down. Try setting "online_mode" in the config file to "false", and it should work.
Please note that it's not recommended to do this, as it will allow people to connect without being checked by the authentication server, which can be dangerous. This will allow you to connect while the authentication servers are down, but remember to set it back to true.
