What I would really like in 1.7 is to log on to the forum and not see a wall of 'OMG u BroKe 'XXX' I hatezx U', or any of the common symptoms that characterise the forum's post Update behaviour
I'd like to see some more of the better mods such as Ye Olde Minegunner and Controller Block added to the game. If pistons are being considered, there are plenty of others that suit the "theme" of minecraft just as much if not more, and add plenty of new options to the game.
Also, mods not breaking with every release would be very nice as well.
HD texture support without the use of mods would be very welcome. Not all of us want to use 16x16.
Also, sandwiches. Cooked pork with bread on top and below it, and if you put a ham sandwich in the furnace and cook it, it becomes a grilled ham sandwich.
I actually hadn't heard about this either. I'd say the solution is an acceptable one. Now, for the same cost, I can actually have a full ladder going down into my mineshaft instead of the broken wrong-looking mess.
Well, redstone dust circuitry is too techy too.
I dont believe it is an issue, since minecraft doesnt have any temporal reference, it has its own world.
And wouldnt it be cool if we could develop technologies wich would lead to newer craft recipes? like, you start crafting wooden tools, then discover metal and redstone leading to some mechanical tools. I dont know :tongue.gif:
Well, Redstone, while being slightly "techie" as well is still fantasy in the way it's implemented. Sure, it's just a self-powering electrical circuit with no discernible ground, but it retains some fantasy elements, being a magical red dust from deep in the earth's core. lol Plus, it opens a lot of doors for creative sorts.
I'd like to see redstone that requires a power source, like a windmill or a water wheel, but then again, not fantasy.
Oh well. I suppose that even if they are added, I don't necessarily have to use them, right?
I had just finished my first fortress. That's when I realized that creepers and other associated vermin could just climb the nearby mountain and fall right over my walls.
Pistons have grown on me, but I have to agree that as they are, they're too "techy" for minecraft. The entire game has a somewhat fantasy aspect to it, and pistons just don't seem to fit the theme. I say, stop breaking the mods with every single update, so the people who want to use pistons don't have to wait for an updated version with every patch.
Same as the nether portal, but uses diamond blocks instead. The loot there should be extremely useful, and extremely rare. When sleeping in your normal bed, you have a chance to collect it, but the chance of being taken to the dream world is low, and you only get to stay for a short time before being returned to your bed. The portal, which would take a considerable amount of work to craft, would allow you to come and go as you please.
I'm not sure I "get" the piston mod, to be honest. They're blocks that can move one block a distance of one block, in one direction. I can see their applications for flood gates, but I'd think something more versatile like the controller block, which can serve a similar purpose, would be a better choice for addition to the game.

Here's an older pic of my favorite house. Just a basic tower-keep with a walled courtyard.

I found this particular statement very entertaining given his avatar.
