They've added a couple more patterns with the latest snapshot, the banner designer program needs to be updated slightly to stay current. Otherwise, it's a truly awesome tool.

Thanks! I didn't even notice that latest banner update. I caught the 14w30c one during development but missed the latest. I'll get right on that later today. Also it looks like they changed some of the in game naming so I'll update that as well. Thanks again for letting me know :D

    Banner Designer

I don't want to ramble on too much, so I'll keep the text brief. After Banners were added to the game, I thought the one thing that was difficult about them was really picturing exactly what you want in you mind, and playing around with Banners in-game isn't the easiest thing to do. So I designed a simple webpage that allows you to Design your own Banner and see the crafting recipes required.

    Link: http://ztk4.github.io/Banner_Designer

    Screen Shots:

    Features/Controls:

    • Select Background Color on the left side of the Viewing Panel
    • Currently Supports up to 6 layers
    • Each Layer Can:
      • Have it's color changed
      • Have it's pattern changed
      • Display a pattern preview (in black and white to display pattern)
      • Temporarily Hide a itself
      • Shift itself up and down with adjacent layers
    • You can change the color and pattern with the drop downs they are displayed in
    • You can cycle the pattern by one by clicking the left and right arrows
      • By clicking and holding, you may cycle through multiple layers
    • You can shift layers up and down (swapping with the other layer) by clicking the up and down arrows
      • By clicking and holding, you may shift multiple layers down
    • You can temporarily hide and un-hide a layer by clicking the Hide Layer Toggle (Barrier Block Icon)
    • You can view your crafting below
    • You can view details of most items by hovering over them

    Change Log:

      • Updated to 14w31a
        • Added the 5 new textures (Bend Inverted, Bend Sinister Inverted, Base Gradient, Per Fess Inverted, Per Pale Inverted)

    • Changed Nomenclature to 14w31a nomenclature
    • Added Link to this post in the footer
    • Fixed Spelling Error for Feild -> Field and Cheif -> Chief (lmao)
    • CHANGED LINK ON THIS PAGE TO BE ztk4.github.io/Banner_Designer
      • I changed my github username, so the domain has changed!

    Upcoming/Planned Features:

    • NBT export and import, serving as a useful tool and as a way to save your design for later editing
    • Ability to add more than 6 layers (and remove layers until there are 6 left) to aid map makers using nbt tags to make 6+ layer flags
    • Taking Suggestions Here! Comment Below :)

Thanks for reading this post, and please comment below and let me know what you think! Especially if you've found bugs!!

Im in the .dat and the data tab but i cant find the words cheat or command anywhere, this is what it looks like wait how do attach images on here?
    Quote from Musicdude14z
Ill post a picture tutorial of how to do this with NBT explorer in a couple hours when i get home

BEFORE WE START, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU'VE CLOSE MINECRAFT (THE LAUNCHER DOES NOT NEED TO BE CLOSED, BUT THE GAME MUST BE CLOSED COMPLETELY, NOT JUST AT THE TITLE SCREEN IT MUST BE CLOSED).
    Alright here's the picture tutorial:

As you can see by the picture, you first want to click the plus sign to expand the world you wish to enable cheats in (for me its Clocks). Then you need to expand the level.dat 'crate' inside what you've just opened up. Inside the level.dat, you'll find only one thing, a box called Data with a number of entities, expand that too. Inside hear, your first tag listed should be allowCommand (alphabetical order) and the value will be 0, as it is in my picture. Click on this tag (make sure it is highlighted in blue) and then click on the pencil on the toolbar above. After this, a popup box saying "Edit Value..." will appear. Change the value from 0 to 1 (DON'T PUT ANYTHING ELSE) and hit enter. After this, MAKE SURE TO HIT THE SAVE ICON ON THE TOOLBAR ABOVE OR NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE. Then exit NBTExplorer and open up minecraft. When you open the world you should have access to all commands, or cheats that are built in.

NOTE: minecraft does not fully save worlds until you exit the game completely. This is why you must close the game before this, and before using MCEdit. Furthermore, I had previously found a glitch in which you can have normal chunks in a flatworld due to this bug and naming issues. I made the post so you can find it on my page if you are interested. I hear people are turning that kinda map into a challenge map now.

Let me know if you still can't get this to work or you have other questions by messaging me or replying to this topic. Quote me if need be.

EDIT: Click the image to enlarge. Also feel free to right click and open image in new tab, because its a full screen image and so the resolution is on the high size (but I do have a pretty small screen so idk)

So I was messing around with superflat custom generation and was spawning worlds with the top layer as all signs, or all piston arms, etc. When I ran into an old glitch I'd found previously (My post about it). But this time the village spawned over the edge of the fault! And I got some really strange formations :P Take a look:

    What's the seed?

Lol, good question, I never tried reproducing it with the see before. Btw, this happened to me again with a world titled 'Redstone Tutorial 2'. So it does seem to happen frequently. Anyway, here's the seed of the original superflat world with the weird normal chunks in it: 5470929962910443813

posted a message on Redstone Combination Lock
    Quote from Sigil

I have trouble following other people's redstone (or computer code, or circuits, or really anything), but if it works, it works, right?

My question: Why can't you repeat digits? I know when me and a friend made one recently, we opted to not repeat digits right after another* so we wouldn't have to screw with clocks and full flip flops. What was your reasoning?

*For example, we can have 1232, but not 1223

I use RSNOR latches for the buttons rather than a flip flop (the only flip flop is the open close button inside the door). Therefore the only thing that can change the state of a pressed button is by triggering reset : by hitting a wrong key, or hitting a key that has not already been entered and is not next in the pass code. Therefore, once a button is hit, it stays on until the whole code is reset. To do otherwise would be too complicated to reprogram. If you have a suggestion to how to fix this, please let me know. Always love to learn new things :) Thanks! Also if this was unclear, let me know and I'll try to explain it better. You can always download the world for a better look (in description of vid, and I'll edit it into post now :D ).

posted a message on Redstone Combination Lock
Hello mincrafters. I have just finished my newest redstone invention, a 9 digit combination lock. Digits are non-repeatable, but the order in which you hit digits matter, so using a 4-digit combo, you would have 3,024 possible combinations. Because it is expandable to use up to nine digits, and there is an enter button, the number of possible pass codes (counting all possibilities of any length, since length can be changed) is 986,409. This is derived from 9! + 9*8*7*6*5*4*3*2 + 9*8*7*6*5*4*3 ... + 9*8 + 9. Leave a comment here or on youtube, and please leave a like and favorite it you enjoyed this. Try lowering all your setting, like tiny or small render distance, particles on decreased or none, etc. Also, open the world and hit f3 and look to the top left for 'fps' Let me know what number is after this. That's frame rate. I figure u know what that is, but just in case, thought i'd explain.
