Diamond is tier 6, the only item tier 6 as far as I know. (even bedrock is tier 5 if I remember)

AND NOW, GENTLEMEN! FROM THE CREATOR OF THE STUPID RUNE THAT DIGS INCREDIBLY DEEP STAIRCASES COMES THE RUNES THAT DIGS INCREDIBLY LONG CROSS TUNNELS!

From all the runes I've seen, they ain't complex! Complexity is power! Power is fun! And fun is the ultimate goal in life! So here's a complex rune.

    Rune Stats
    ------------
    Size : 5x7
    Mats : 10 redstone powder
    4 redstone torch ( For powa! )
    14 cobble stone
1 tier block ( diamond in my exemple )

Now! Explanation ( WITH PICTURES! )

I've divided the built of this rune in 7 steps, and uploaded the pictures in a photobucket folder. (including the result)

    http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s51/munsta0/Minecraft/Tunnel%20Rune/

The concept behind the rune is that you will need some "drilling power" to drill throught rock, so why not create a magical driller! ( Powered by redstone torches of course )

I built it to look like the sides are spinning ( or tried to).

    Result!

A tunnel in the shape of a +!

Why a +? Cause it looks alot better then a 2x2 or 3x3 tunnel, it has style!

    Side notes
    ------------
-Just as my shaft rune, it shouldn't be able to drill through bedrock or unatural material. ( But why would you even reach bedrock anyway.. sideway... o.0 )
-The gold compass on the floor was only used for my own guidance, it is not required for the rune
-The torches in the resulting tunnel are not included ( only added for the demo )
-The size of the rune and the fact it will be created underground will require the digger to actually make a room to cast it, making it more difficult to cast
-the line of redstone actually reaches the tier item, to power up the drill!

So thats it, my second rune suggestion in all it's epicness!

More stuff you already know! :smile.gif:

Since you liked my previous 3D rune, I'll start working on another template. :smile.gif:

Btw, for your hidden passage rune, I cannot get it to work with any other material then cobble stone, glitch?

    So no elevator? *sad face*

Guess that means the horizontal moving platform is still possible though, the player just has to run along with it (and ideally the platform would be made of all the same material so it could scroll nicely).

Even if the idea was possible, it would cause amazing amount of lag. Testing it in a 3-4 people server is fine but when you have 20 players in a server and you start doing teleports often it creates a ton of lags.

    On the other hand..

    Horizontal moving platform zomgness!

How about this! Moving platform at portal style! ( And it's effing 3D again! zomgness even more )

Note that I'm at work atm so I can't take fancy 3d shots for my rune, I'll do it once at home.

    1st level

    :--+: :Red: :Red: :Red: :--+:
    :Red: [] :Red: [] :Red:
    :Red: :Red: :Glass: :Red: :Red:
    :Red: [] :Red: [] :Red:
    :--+: :Red: :Red: :Red: :--+:

    2nd level ( The tricky part )

Details : You would require one or two "vector thingy".. At least if you wish to make "checkpoints" for your platform ( It could get very complex )

    [] [] :Glass: [] []
    [] [] :Glass: [] []
    [] [] :Glass: [] []
    [] [] [] [] []
    [] [] [] [] []

    3rd level ( platform itself )
    :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass:
    :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass:
    :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass:
    :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass:
    :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass: :Glass:

The platform would be heading north ( considering that the 2nd level is pointing top ). Now for the platform to know when it reached destination, you could use the already implemented "key" system!

On the first level notice that there are 4 empty squares.

At the location of arrival, you would build the following :

    1st level

    :Red: :Red: :--+: :Red: :Red:
    :Red: [] :Red: [] :Red:
    :--+: :Red: :Glass: :Red: :--+:
    :Red: [] :Red: [] :Red:
    :Red: :Red: :--+: :Red: :Red:

    2nd level

    [] [] [] [] []
    [] [] [] [] []
    [] [] :Glass: [] []
    [] [] :Glass: [] []
    [] [] :Glass: [] []

Notice the glass in the 2nd level is pointing down. It has no platform (since it will receive one ). You will need to link both platform with a combination for it to work.

It should have a max distance set to it ( like .. 40 squares? idk. )

Both start and end should be at the exact same height, and aligned ( So the platform only has to move in one of the 3 axis, and the z axis wouldn't be permited of course )

The script would have to check that the path is clear all across the place and if while moving, the platform encounters an item that wasn't there when it started moving, the glass would simply break and the player fall to his death ( glass impacted = broken glass right? )

Are any server owner having trouble with water/lava when using the 1.1 version of runecraft? I just added runecraft in my server.jar and now the water won't work properly.

Is it screwing with Llamacraft mod?

I was about to say fail logic.. but yes you can have multiple teleport for a single waypoint.

    :smile.gif:

    ALSO!

Since noone ( Not that I've seen ) bothered to try 3d runes, here I go.

After casting the rune, it would look more like

The outer red stone circle would be unaffected, the center one consumed and only the "shaft" the arrow would remain. The 3x3 middle of the rune would be dug out, at the exeption of the center. It would add cobblestone steps as in the second picture.

You could add consumable tier items for the following :

    Cobble - Dig 10 square
Iron Block - Dig 20 square
Gold Block - Dig 30 square
Diamond Block - Dig 40 square

The consumable tier item would be the point of the arrow and would be replaced by cobble stone when casted.

    What do you guys think?

PS! : Oh yes, the stairs would be made do the stair always going from north to south, on the east side of the shaft ( So whe ngoing down, you are going clockwise)

[EDIT] - Obviously, the spell would stop AS SOON as it hits any bedrock. It would also destroy any ore in its way. I'm not certain what it should do if it encounters lava water. Maybe just leave it like that for the heck of it. Too bad for the apprentice caster.

I think you should make the waypoints delete the stones in the holes.. how are you supposed to know if it set up?

Also, is there any way to delete a waypoint address? (I want to move the actual waypoint but I want to keep the address I used.)

Now that waypoints don't destroy blocks, how do I know if the waypoint has been activated?

    Anyone?

Also, is there any way to determine the code for a way-point? (As if someone had forgotten their combination.)

    Try the teleporter

That won't do it. I would have to go to run to the teleporter ( after setting the waypoint ), try the combination to see that it didnt work? What if the teleporter was 10 minute walk? I'd have to waste 20 minutes ( back and forth ) per try?

Perhaps give some sort of sign, like the rune itself changing? That way people would know that it's active?

Diamond block is broken for the tier checker. I've already wrote to Llama about it. :smile.gif:

    Ooooo I know!

You could use the time of the day in the equation. Some rune will only work more or less around noon, midnight and etc. That would be epic.

I wouldn't normaly care for dying, since you can pick up your items if you can find yourself.. But lava tends to destroy object too!

And yeah I think I'll take Flippeh and NOT hold buckets.... Yeah I think that will work.

I wish Notch would fix the bug, because yes I call it a bug, that makes you your item when you try to use your toolbox..

Because guess what? I was holding a bucket of :Lava:... yay me.

    Anyone else?

PS : I'm probably not using the "right" term for the item, but idc, it's not written in the game =D

PPS : Oh and yeah, I was just coming out of a big ******* dungeon with diamonds, 80 metal and some 250 something coal.. Lost all of that :sad.gif:.

posted a message on Laggy row?
I was exploring a mine when I suddently started to lag horribly ( I was barely moving, animation was around 1 frame/s ) then after 10-15 seconds it was over.. I walked back and when I reached a precise spot I lagged again. I threw a few blocks on the ground and them too were lagging.

Just for better comprehension I did a quick ( and ugly ) drawing of where it lagged.
    http://i38.tinypic.com/2jedzs4.png

So question : Anyone know why it happens? Or how to fix it?

I also did a backup of my game, if Notch is ever interested in checking it out to fix the future possible lag spot.
