You all realize that is ONLY a re-texture / name change right? Pretty much anything you could want your "beloved" rose to do, poppy does as well.

posted a message on Is there a way to make an amplified world on a server?
This is likely the LEAST efficient way to do it, but you can make an amplified world in single player, then go into .minecraft, and put THAT world folder into your server files where your server world would go.

Again, this is perhaps the least effective way, but it should get the job done.

They're not so harmless IRL. They eat glue, and sometimes paper, in books. :(
Well I mean harmless as in they won't harm people, like scorpions or some spiders. They could be around your bare feet and besides the ick factor they couldn't do anything to you.

    How do you know?
Its in the wiki future updates for one. "changed rose to poppy, retextured".

Also how the heck does being a modder mean someone does / doesn't know what the update contains? The info is there for people to see, just need to look around.

    http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Flowers#Poppy

And if you scroll up from there, it also says the rose will become the poppy under the rose section.

No, don’t act like you know what Mojang will add and will not add.
I get that nobody can KNOW what they are thinking over there, but if mojang DID cave on such an issue before say, fixing the zombie spawn problems, I would lose heaps of respect for them.
    Quote from CheezyMarsBar14

Honestly, the rose was a good part of the game. Taking it out was a horrible decision.
They DID NOT take it out, they altered it. Reskin, and name change.

posted a message on I'm not happy that roses are gone.
I can't believe people would make 13 pages of complaining (I know not everyone here is complaining, I'm just saying it that way) About a re-texture / rename. Sure I think its odd that they would rename the rose to "poppy" but the new texture is nice, and if I only made 1 complaint about minecraft current / recent updates, this would not even go through my mind. Instead, I would think of the zombie spawning problems, not a rename and re-texture.

I swear, some people on here need to do more research, and get some perspective on things, because the rose isn't gone, it just got a new name and texture, THAT'S IT

Remember : a rose of any other name still smells the same =P

Knowing mojang, I wouldn't be surprised if they put something in DISCREETLY for Halloween. They have done discreet stuff before.

Bah, I'd seen the spawn egg in Creative mode and always just assumed it was an actual fish! >.<!
Nope, silver-fish are based off a real critter(of the same name) which dwells in moist places, feeds on pretty much anything (paper, dead skin, whatever) And can go a very long time without food(about a year I think). They are pretty difficult to get rid off, but are thankfully both harmless in real life, and MUCH smaller than the minecraft variety.

Heres a picture of the real thing, they don't get bigger than a half inch long though normally.

As someone who has dealt with them, they are kind of gross, but the minecraft variety are much more annoying than the real thing.

Also ward, just a tip for future reference, search around the wiki a bit before making a post about something you think is new, helps answer the question at hand, and is a wealth of info.

posted a message on Thoughts on new ocean generation?
It wouldn't be as bad if they divided the old ocean rate, making 3/4 of them the new "lakes" and 1/4 the old oceans. At least that's my idea.

Plus lakes were always strangely absent most of the time.

posted a message on Dinnerbone Acknowledges 1.6 Zombie AI
What dinnerbone really needs to do is enable most of the stuff as options. Its not all that hard to do, and the simple act of programming someone to chose to have, or NOT have something does a LOT to help fix arguments about stuff.

posted a message on Podzol changes to Dirt when dug
    Quote from Gnardak

Yeah, dirt should have a chance of becoming podzol if it has a pine leaf block over directly above it.
Well I wouldn't say dirrectly above, in real life it spreads slightly more due to wind. Maybe if they modified it with something like the coding used to check if leaves generated by trees should stay alive? Any surface block within x amount of blocks of a pine "leaves" block? That could work wonderfully.

Mesa, simply because its not a different arrangement of trees / dirt, its actually different.

On a side note, I LOVE how snow has different levels, this is an amazing feature.

posted a message on Removal of spawning via Item IDs?
I think its great, no longer do people need to keep track of a bunch of arbitrary number combos for things. Sure it may cause problems for some, but it makes many things easier, for many people

posted a message on Anyone getting a slight uneasiness with this update?
Why would people complain about this update? this one is one of the LEAST radical ones (villagers, wither, difficulty tweaks, all that was more "contraversial") , its just a nice update of biomes, and other small and easily ignorable changes.
