posted a message on Taking mod requests for simple to medium ideas

I'm hoping this isn't too complex but I made a post here on a suggestion:

    https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/requests-ideas-for-mods/2961455-a-mod-that-adds-hunter-mobs-to-make-minecraft

The basic idea of the mod is to add mobs that are specifically designed to make the game have a constant sense of dread and tension. The post above goes into more detail about it.

posted a message on A mod that adds Hunter Mobs to make Minecraft scary again

So I have noticed that while Minecraft has improved in several areas, one thing that Minecraft has lost from its old days was that unnerving small sense of dread that lingers in the background as you play. One very notable example of this is back when Herobrine used to be a huge rumor that would set the feeling that he could show up anytime and anywhere. Of course, now we just laugh at the very possibility of this and meme it to no end. This actually got me thinking about what it would take to make minecraft scary again. Of course, you could just install a bunch of mods to make the game harder and more survival based but that on its own doesn't really make minecraft scary. So I thought about it some more and came to a realization, what could be scarier than being constantly hunted down while being helpless to doing anything to stop it from happening. The idea behind this mod is that these mobs are the predators, you are the prey and you have to do whatever you can to survive your encounters with them or avoid them entirely.

    The mobs:

    Info:

These mobs will have a large enough health pool (say 1000 hearts for example) that attempting to kill them will not be worth the trouble because your goal is not to slay them but run away and avoid them. These mobs will start spawning starting on the first night one at a time no sooner than 5 minutes apart from any encounter but no later than 2 days and can spawn without regard to the lighting level. Both the time they start spawning and the rate at which they spawn should be configurable if possible. You should also be able to turn any of these mobs off if you don't like a specific one for some reason.

    The Cave Beast:

The Cave Beast will spawn as the name suggests, in caves about close enough to be heard but not close enough to be seen. It has spent so long in the caves that it has lost its humanity and will aimlessly search the cave for either diamonds or miners as both act as food sources for it. It has the appearance of a monster with a huge, bulky body and ginormous mouth large enough to consume any human. Despite its large appearance, it is rather fast (about as fast as a spider) and has enough strength to burst through walls. A hit for this things pickaxe is strong enough to penetrate even the most refined of armor. If it sees diamond items or ore, it will take a moment to stop and eat it before resuming what it was doing before. If you hear large foot steps and mining that isn't coming from you, The Cave Beast is likely close by and can hear you if you mine or walk nearby it but not crouching. If you hear this things scream, RUN.

    The Hunter:

The Hunter will spawn on the surface. They are a trained sniper who is very effective at taking out his targets but unfortunately, you are that target. They tend to spawn a couple hundred blocks away and blends in with his current terrain. The sniper will take a bit to find you at first but once they do, they will aim their shot and fire. If you see a red laser pointed at you for a second and disappear, they have taken the shot and you need to hide behind some non-glass cover. (No, shields won't help) They will then take time to reload their shots for 5-10 seconds before taking another shot. If you get hit by one of their shots, you will die INSTANTLY no matter how good of armor you are wearing. If they lose sight of you, they will send their hunting dogs to sniff you out and try to kill you. The hunting dogs are about as strong as a zombie and can be killed. If you somehow manage to get close enough and try to hit them, they will simply use their ender tech to teleport away and reposition themselves to take the shot.

This is all the ideas that I have for this mod that I came up with. Now I think there is room for a lot of other ideas like an ocean hunter or nether/end variants of these mobs but I think that even just this would do a lot to make Minecraft a lot more tense. Feel free to suggest improvements to this idea and I hope this isn't too complex of an idea to attempt.

posted a message on Totally Another Skyblock Map by FennekMaster

So I was just sitting around bored just trying to thinking of something cool to do and then it hit me. Why not make another generic skyblock map? God knows there aren't nearly enough of those! So I did just that and here is the holy and totally "original" map made by me. What is the catch with this map? Nothing! This map is basically a rip-off so have fun playing this map that "I" made in 4 minutes.

Click if you have played the map or just lazy:

So obviously this is a troll map. The Survival mark was just there to make it more believe-able. It didn't take my that long time to make this map but until now I was too lazy to release it. I do hope you enjoyed this map.

So, Minecraft as we all know is an open-world 3d sandbox game. However, I feel like that this game faces serious competition with Terraria. I then realize that this game would be alot of fun to play if it was scary. So I am wondering how I could make minecraft alot scarier. Now, I said scarier NOT harder. I want to play minecraft and be constantly paranoid. Anyways, hope you guys have suggestions.

Also, just to clarify no Adventure maps. I honestly couldn't care less for those.

if minecraft first build was like this then no one complains, usually i accept the snapshot just get used to it doesnt matter how bad it is. Also my logic is you are playing PVE right? why dont you use earlier version or use mods because PVE is "more" optional then PvP because most players play the Latest Version

and minecraft mobs are regular except i hate their noises always scare me in caves

Actually, almost everyone is gonna PVE at least once. Also, my logic is if you have to downgrade the game so you can enjoy it than what does that say about the game?

    Three questions.
1: Why are you provoking Endermen without water nearby in the first place?
    2: Weren't Blazes always a joke?3: Can't you just use a Bow?

A1: I feel like that it is more fun to kill Endermen without using water.
A2: They were pretty easy if you don't take them on head-on but now they are a joke even if you do go head-on.
A3: Yes, but a bow is not exactly the easiest of items to get as string is not that easy to come by and not the greatest of weapons in PVE.

I don't have a problem with the fact that they have stopped spam clicking. I like the idea of no more spam-clicking and I also like the dual wielding. However, what I don't like is HOW they stopped spam-clicking. The cooldown hurts more than it helps. I feel like the Battlegear 2 mod does a much better job at improving combat than the snapshots. Again, I like the fact that spam clicking is not effective anymore but I feel like that they handled it in the worst way possible. Also, PVP may be better but PVE has became awful with this combat design. Endermen are impossible to kill without a water bucket, Blazes are a joke and Skeletons go from annoying to cheap. Slow paced combat NEVER works in a game that isn't centered around strategy. Especially if the games enemies are designed for fast paced combat. I almost always find myself avoiding a fight with the 1.9 snapshots. Anyways, that is my take on 1.9 combat and why I don't like it. I am not a PVPer but I still don't like where this update is going even as a person who plays Minecraft exclusively on singleplayer.

posted a message on How to Fix 1.9 Combat

I think most of my problems come from the pace of the combat. All it really needs is a medium to fast pace and I will be happy with this update. Yeah, that and the underpowered shields.

posted a message on How to Fix 1.9 Combat

So as you may know about the controversial 1.9 Combat Update and some people don't like where it is going. I am one of those people but I have an idea for how to fix the problems that the update has as it is still in development. First off, to fix the problem with the sword cooldown make it a really fast cooldown. So that this prevents spam-clicking without slowing down the game's pace. Some of you may say this is overpowered which brings me to my way to balance this. Nerf the Diamond Sword attack to 5. Also, shields should have at least double the durability they have. Shields could be balanced by making them more expensive to craft. So yeah, this is my idea on how to fix 1.9 combat and make it fun for everyone.

EDIT: After many replies I have determined that underpowered shields are the sole problem with the current snapshots. The suggestion with the swords was my attempt as a way to increase pace but it failed. I guess I favor Terraria's pace over 1.9 Minecraft's pace. So yeah, just a response to everyone who has posted.

2nd EDIT: I am no longer going to be replying to this thread due to the fact that this thread doesn't do justice for my opinion on the matter and don't want to start another flame war thread. Also, I you are a mod feel free to lock this thread.

posted a message on FennekMaster's 60 Minute Map "The Great Pizza Heist

This is my submission for the 60 Minute Map Tournament. The 3 themes were Pushing the Limits (A heist would be pushing the limits a bit), Pizza (Map is centered around stealing a pizza) and Clue (You have to find clues for the password). This is most likely my best 60 minute map so far. Enjoy!
