Thanks for the advice, but as stated in my original post, I can use the server just fine as a stand alone server. The issue is getting it to link to the bungeecord network and work within that setup.
I want to link all of these up together via Bungeecord so I can connect via 1 address (ie: joinme.server.net). Currently, I have the Two vanilla worlds happily talking. Can jump between them, perms are fine, chat is fine as well, Bungeetablist see's all three But I cannot join the Forge server, I get a connection timed out (disconnected). If i set up the required setting i can join the server as a stand alone server, so i know its working fine. It's the hand off that isn't working.
I am open to ANY suggestions. Do I need to make a lobby? Change Plugins? Change configs?
You need to go to your Minecraft install (In windows type %minecraft% into your address bar in explorer) and find your options.txt file and set fullscreen:true to false
that is a snippet from the config. it is not really an example of how permissions are set differently on each world
also it is not clear if "server" just means the base world. I am sure this stuff makes sense to someone that has been using it for years, but I have not.
the ip is not the problem necessarily(and also u r supposed to put the ip in the server properties it even says server-ip= and its blank), its i cant change any of the server properties, i have to leave them all on the default settings because if i change any of them and save the document i cant launch the server and it crashes because "Failed to save server.properties"

server-ip
string blank
Set this if you want the server to bind to a particular IP. It is strongly recommended that you leave server-ip blank!
Set to blank, or the IP you want your server to run (listen) on.
Hmmm, Looks like this says to leave it blank too.....
As for the file not being able to be saved, make sure you've not set the folder to "Read only" or something crazy like that. Which, sounds like exactly whats happened. Create a new folder, DON'T mess with the folder permissions and everything should be good.
I haven't seen their client area, but it looks like they use multi-craft. So, they probably have a "Vanilla" jar. That would probably be the option you select.
You could set it so that the start.bat you have starts the server on login using "start on login" Like this
As for auto shutdown, well, most servers are set to save automatically anyway, so shutdown can be handled without running a save script. How ever, if you want to do such a thing, you can make the script and put it HERE
Looks like this is to set a specific user's permissions .... how do I set a group (like the "default" group) to have perms only in one world?
Thank you for the wiki link, I saw it and I find it difficult to use. I will plow my way through it eventually, but I just need to get up and running now.
In the config for the world it actually has an option to make the permissions specific for the world. i've attached a picture to show you.
I posted this on the sponge forums and didn't get a response, perhaps someone here can help?
Hey, first time post. I am getting this error CLICK ME on a sponge server, as is everyone who joins it. It can be circumvented exactly as described in the error report on the original bug report. This does not happen on a single player world. Also the entire recipe book system doesn't work. (shows a black screen with just the crafting table with a cross or tick)
I am using "spongevanilla-1.12-7.0.0-BETA-290" and have tried versions 284/286/289/290.
I have these plugins installed:
Nucleus-1.0.0-1.11.2-1.12-S6.0
LuckPerms-Sponge-3.2.30
ColorAnvil-v1.0.0
Prism-3.0.0-beta2-45-gfbbeb2b-all
Running the server with these arguments:
java -Xms1G -Xmx3G -jar spongevanilla-1.12-7.0.0-BETA-290.jar
This is run on a MacMini running Sierra OS. 12GB RAM.
We connect via a bungeecord but the issue happens with direct connect as well. We are using the latest Minecraft version (1.12) and the default Mojang launcher.
My Launcher arguments are:
-Xmx4G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M
I am running Java build 1.8.0_131-b11( Edit 1.8.0_74)
no, I can't ... I tried migrating perms and it threw crazy errors. But that is a smaller issue than learning all new commands. Plus trying to find every command block on my server that references group manager .... it is going to be unpleasant no matter which perm plugin I choose

First thing i would do is give your Minecraft more memory (2GB min)
Secondly, remove all mods and run forge, shutdown, then add 1 at a time. You will quickly find which mod isn't happy. That would be my first step.

You need to go to your Minecraft install (In windows type %minecraft% into your address bar in explorer) and find your options.txt file and set fullscreen:true to false
Should help you.

Don't happen to have a log of the errors?

I run a MacMini 2012, OSX Sierra. 12GB ram and my servers are off a HighSpeed SDCard lol. It does the job

I would hazard a guess that it exceeds the suffix character limit of the plugin. Try something smaller and see if that works?
