posted a message on A Question Concerning EXP Grinders
I both agree and disagree with the cave light issue. The creative world I made the first one on was superflat. No caves. But on my survival world I'm sure there are caves below me. However, I have explored below the surface for weeks (real time), and believe that all caves are adequately lit. In addition to this, the mob farm is elevated 21 blocks above the ground. If it still sounds like a cave issue, tell me. If not, we need the next idea.

posted a message on A Question Concerning EXP Grinders
I read what you said to on the wiki, and could make no sense of it. If the loaded chunks can be found in the debug screen, thats great. If not, I have no idea. As for the lighting, it is the same as the spawn room and grinder is the same. Location is different because I built them in two separate worlds, entirely different from each other. Thank you for your advise. Any more would be great.

posted a message on A Question Concerning EXP Grinders
So I have prototyped three mob farm ideas. After making them in creative, I rebuilt them in survival. But my problem is, they never work as well. In creative mode, I get 20-30 mobs per day, but in survival I'm lucky to get five. The only thing that changes is the world and game mode. What is happening?

posted a message on The Rope
Although string is all too common, it seems to be lacking an equal amount of uses. So I suggest something that can be crafted, The Rope. It can be crafted by placing three string in a vertical row. This would result in one rope. The rope could then be used to craft many things, such as the lasso, the leash, the zipline, the rope ladder, and the insulated redstone.

Lasso: As of right now, wheat is the only way to entice animals to follow you. But this attracts all nearby animals, and can get throughly annoying when trying to isolate one without getting the entire herd. A Lasso could be used to gain control of a single animal out of a herd. It's employment would be similar to the fishing rod, right click on the animal, and you "lasso" him. The gravity and range are already employed in the fishing rod, so implementation would be fairly simple. (I'm no good at programming, so if I'm wrong feel free to tell me.) It would be crafted in the same shape as an ax, the square with one under, but using ropes.

Leash: This would be used to control wolves and cats. It is essentially the same as the Lasso, and may be entirely superfluous.

Zipline: This would be crafted using Iron and Rope. There would be three Iron in the top row, and a vertical line of ropes down the center. This would create one zipline. This could be launched directly, or using a launcher. It could do anything from sling you across a ravine, to provide the quickest way down from the sky limit.

Rope Ladder: This would be crafted the same way as a normal ladder. It would be extendable or retractable by redstone power, and could be used as a secret entrance or exit to an otherwise insurmountable fortress.

Insulated Redstone: This would be crafted by placing a vertical line of redstone down the center of the crafting table, and surround it with two vertical lines of rope. Insulated redstone could be strung through the air, or placed next to another line of insulated redstone without them connecting.

If you like this idea, vote for it. If you don't, tell me why and I will see if we can change it. If you have anything to add, and it's good, I'll add it. Thanks for the support.

posted a message on Clocks on walls
I love the clock being able to give off redstone power. Perhaps a special type of Redstone-Clock to do such a thing? I also like the placeable maps. I find it difficult to get a complete picture of the world around me shifting from map to map to map.

posted a message on [Request] Need a double blaze spawner!
I actually found a Nether Fortress with two blaze spawners, but they are not on the same X or Z. However, they are very close to each other. The seed of the world is -24618638163. The location of the spawners are
    1:

    X: 77
    Y: 68
    Z: 171

    2:

    X: 104
    Y: 68
    Z: 179

I wish you the best, and I hope these will work for you.

posted a message on Greatest Ravine Ever, With Abandoned Mineshaft
I happen to have found the greatest set of ravines ever discovered. There is the intersection of four ravines (depending on interpretation) at:

    X: 746
    Z: 112

In the lower ravine, you will find an abandoned mineshaft at the top. However, speed is required since the wooden paths over the ravine are near lava, and will burn if not located quickly.

If you want to avoid the ravine but still want the Abandoned Mineshaft, you can dig straight down at:

    X: 804
    Z: 90

I checked, no lava lakes or giant caverns, just a mineshaft at Y: 32.

    The seed is -3834448579626585889.

    The edition is 1.2.4

Sorry about lack of pics, having problems with internet speed, if I had picture it would take a week to upload.

    Good luck, and have fun.

posted a message on DEAR GOD HELP ME!
If you have some blocks in your inventory, you can jump-build away from the mobs, then jump-build out of the ravine. To jump-build underground, dig up as far as you can, then jump-build in the space behind. It takes awhile, but its an easy way to escape.

posted a message on Jeb plans to remove lighting bugs!
I hate lighting bugs. I cannot get them to disappear, and finding them in every cave and hollow is incredibly annoying. They spawn monsters in broad daylight and are just plain ugly. Maybe I am a heartless *******, but I say get rid of them all!

posted a message on Dumbest way die ?
I was building a HUGE library, and thought, well, an iron golem will keep me safe. So I assembled him, and let him roam the room while I built. Poor me, he didn't attack any creepers. Forgetting about this convenient feature, I built on in blissful ignorance. I now have a crater in the middle of my library, which can't be filled in because I set a very specific pattern of lapis blocks and pine wood. I am out of lapis. GARRRRAAE!

I just finished construction of a two story library, but have no bookshelves to place in there yet. So I then doubled the output of my sugarcane farm, and am considering tripling it. Fun times.

posted a message on Which biome should be improved?
My least favorite biome is the winter forest biome (not sure of the actual name). It is all the same continuing on forever. There is no variation from which I can tell where I am. Perhaps more sparsely forested ground, and more vertical variation.

posted a message on What new Mob Would you like to see?
I think there are several mobs that are definitely needed. More water mobs, obviously, along with another boss of some description. As for original ideas (or at least those less touched upon) horse, for travel and may grant an attack bonus. A improved human mob, distinct from the current NPC villagers, which may wage war upon NPCs and vice versa. More interactions between us and villagers is definitely needed, and if the new human is added, we need better interaction there too. They may interact within each other as well. A mob that can fly (beyond the current Ender Dragon) should be added, but not in such copious amounts as to cause excessive lag (I have a small macbook). More utility mobs are a must, perhaps craftable ones, such as more powerful clay soldiers, or upgrades on the current ones, such as adding blaze rods to an Iron Golem makes him set mobs on fire, or adding gunpowder to Snowmen makes their snowballs explosive. Mere ideas, maybe we can catch attention.

posted a message on Does anyone have mob spawning tips??
I think there is a good article on this at the Minecraft Wiki. If not, I believe (important part there, believe) that mobs spawn in only the chunks adjacent to you. If that is so, you may want to build a little room at the top and center of this arrangement. Good Luck to you, and go get mobbed.

I tried two mods, SlimeFinder (I think thats the name), and Buildcraft, but neither worked on my Mac. So I gave up and now play clean. But not from lack of trying.
