    IGN: MrWubzy

Name, or What You Want us to Call You: MrWubzy is just fine! Although most people just call me Wubzy.

    Age(18+): 27

    Birth Year: 1990

Location: Illinois, but that sounds boring. How about somewhere over the rainbow instead?

Have You Read and Do You Agree to the Server Rules: Yes, I have read them and I agree to follow each one.

How Would You Describe Your Minecraft Play Style?: I do a little bit of everything. I love building, mining, farming mobs, redstone creations and everything in between. I mostly focus on building and mining, though. A little bit of pranking isn't out of the question, either.

Why Do You Want to Join Our Server: I've been away from the Minecraft multiplayer scene for quite some time, long enough to miss playing it with others. Most of the servers I've played on since then were mostly just me passing through, not really having any aim in my wandering. I'd like to find a server that I can stick with for a while, whether it be a few weeks to even a year or more. And yeah, I'll admit it: most of the servers I've joined were...less than ideal for me.

Tell us About Yourself: Name's Wubzy. I've been playing Minecraft for quite some time (almost five years now) mostly on-and-off with the wife on our own world. Though we dabbled in multiplayer servers we never found one to call home. And now that my wife is disinterested in Minecraft (we now play other games together instead), I'm ready to bounce back in to a new multiplayer server head-first.

I'm eccentric, kind, noble and as honest as I can be for a human being. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not perfect; I have my moments of weakness and, like many others, I may slip up from time to time. But in the end I always try to make sure that everyone is having a good time. After all, fun is the most important part of any game, and if nobody's having fun, then I'm not, either.

    Anything Else?: Let me in!

Thank you for the information. I'm not looking to become mod right away, I was just curious. If I do decide to make this server my home, I'd definitely want to be a part of the staff, though.

It could be any number of problems. Things like your ISP slowing down, weather conditions or the server host having a bad connection. Ask your friend how far away he is from your ISP, that could be the issue as well, since the distance might be too large for your connection to handle properly.

posted a message on Looking to join a small video group!
Hi there. I'm not really into uploading videos, but I've been wanting to at least be a part of a video group to see what it's like. I can record using FRAPs and my mic is decent enough to record without bugging out on me, but I don't really want to upload (would be glad to send clips though). Preferable around my age (25), and preferably a small group of around 3-5 people. I do have Skype, and if you want my contact name PM me here.

posted a message on [1.8 WorlGen Issue] Weird chunks loading...not sure how to explain.
My card can handle a render distance of at least 14 chunks (at least in 1.7 it could) so I doubt that's the real issue. I think it's as the link you gave said, that it's a loading of some sort of corrupt chunks or something to that effect.

posted a message on [1.8 WorlGen Issue] Weird chunks loading...not sure how to explain.
Hi there! Just loaded up 1.8 a few minutes ago, sat there in the menu while the world loaded, and suddenly this happened:

This is what it looked like at first:

    A couple of seconds later:

And after a minute or two of waiting, it ended up like this:

And now it just keeps flashing from those three images to each chunk being made of smooth stone and sometimes being completely empty. It flickers between each of those types of 'images' every few seconds. The world was default generated with no additions, resource packs or mods used, so that's not the issue. The world is completely new, just created about ten minutes ago, so it's a current world. My FPS takes a hit when looking at it (as you can see) so there's something loading/taking up space there.

Just letting others know that this is a possibility. I haven't found a fix for this just yet, but I'm trying everything I can. It may be a rare bug, it may not be, but still.

EDIT: Turning VBO ON fixed the issue almost instantly, strangely enough. Turning it back off immediately creates the problem again. This makes me wonder if it has anything to do with my laptop's specs, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll update if anything else comes up.

Turn down the particles, turn down the render distance and turn clouds off. Also turn the Mipmap settings to their lowest, that should help as well.

You should be OK on medium or low settings. The RAM is a bit of an issue, but if you avoid running other programs in the background while playing you should be OK. Just remember to get Optifine before you start playing.

Not sure where you heard that only castlevania games are called metroidvania. The term refers to nonlinear platformers with an emphasis on exploration and have a single world map.

Sorry, I apologize if I offended you. Since the end of the word is -vania I've always thought it was referring to the Castlevania games. Again, sorry.

There is DLC for Mario Kart 8

That I did not know, thanks for the info. It'd be interesting to see if they did start up DLC, but at the same time it may not work as intended. I've never played MK8 so I can't confirm or deny whether or not the DLC was successful, but only time will tell.

Personally I'd love to see Squirtle in there. Only because he's my absolute favorite, though.

Can't wait until this is eventually ported to WiiU or 3DS. Because, let's face it, any successful arcade game is always ported (see: Turtles in Time, any rail shooter, the Simpsons game).
