Disgusting! Why would I want to keep the faces of my victims in a book?
Much better to make them into fashionable masks.

You're going to start something fierce by saying that. It's best to keep your opinions to yourself, rather than publicly express it. There's thousands of bronies, probably even more, and you can just as easily anger some of the hot-heads, and like I said a hundred times, start a flame war.
Quote from Justdownthestreetguy
I think that the dumbest thing anyone has said is "I like trains". Oh god.. NOOOO!! *splat*
For real, I like trains. The bumpiness of the passenger cars, the steady but somewhat quick speed of the train, and the close interaction with real life, seeing all these passengers either texting on their phones, playing their compact video game consoles, or simply reading a book. In a way, things that are moving give the feeling of swiftness, and always interests me. Whenever I think of its amazing history even since the 19th century to now, I can't stop but see how fascinating trains are, immense but able to carry such weight.
And without it, there would be no Murder on the Orient Express. -

BC_Programming posted a message on What most schools don't teachPosted in: Computer Science and TechnologyQuote from 12345blitzkrieg
i find it odd. My school in australia offers IST but its all bloody animation, photoshop. Now I am doing 2 electives that are essentially the same. Multimedia and IST. I am one of the few technologically capable people in my school and the number gets smaller each year. No one cares how it works. for example. "OMFG YOU BUILT A COMPUTER? DID IT TAKE MONTHS?!?!?!?!!?" me: "no a few hours.....".
This is just a superiority complex. Do you know how houses are built? If somebody says they built a house by hand I doubt they'd respond by basically spitting on you and saying "it's easy you just need to learn how". There is NO REASON to give a rat's ass how a PC is built, and honestly the attitude that people should know these things es me off to no end, because its only the person making that argument making themselves feel superior.
A plumber is hired to fix plumbing problems. They do not go around telling people "hey, you should learn how to plumb" It would put them out of the job.
A Contractor is hired to build a house, or other buildings. They do not go around telling people "hey, you should learn how to contract building work and apply for applicable permits". It would put them out of the job.
Electricians are hired to wire buildings and fix existing building wiring. They do not go around telling people "hey, you should learn how to be an electrician" because it would put them out of the job.
I could go on. Basically you have people that like what they do selling their services to other people that don't do that. a Contractor essentially is an organizer, in that they hire people like plumbers and electricians. a Plumber might be able to fix their own plumbing, but they are going to be calling an electrician if their wiring has problems, and vice versa.
And yet, there are people that build computers for others, or fix computer problems- that seem to think this is something everybody should know how to do. They are basically insisting on making themselves redundant. People bring their computers to them to get them fixed, Not learn about cookies or how to clear their browser cache or how they should be following a backup schedule. Do your Job and don't pull the "I'm better than you" approach. It's the difference between "well, you wouldn't have this problem if you weren't stupid enough to click a phishing link" rather than "If you want I can tell you a few tips to help avoid this problem in the future". Being a insufferable douche just makes people WANT to learn how to do it so they don't have to deal with an insufferable douche.
The funniest part is I knew a IT tech that owned a small shop. I forget why I was there, but I watched some poor old woman get reamed out for something stupid like "why did you waste my time with this problem I just had to clean your browser cookies rabble rabble rabble why are people so stupid"... basically, the insufferable douche I described. Even after the woman left (probably to find somebody to outsource their IT requirements to that isn't an insufferable douche) he was still mumbling to himself.
You know what happened? Well, I don't know. The shop is gone. Presumably people that went to that guy for services didn't like giving money to somebody for a service and being told they were idiots, so they went elsewhere. It's funny because they didn't realize they were driving customers away.
That's part of the problem. You get IT techs that feel so superior, they don't realize that they are expendable. If a customer finds you to be an insufferable douchebag, they can find somebody who isn't that will provide the same services. -

It's hard not to have something better when it was always mostly a luxury that only makes things a tad faster outside of collectors. I mean, how often would you have the need to shoot lightning or spontaneously explode? The tools really just mine faster too, or in the morning star and katar's case save inventory space.
As I understand it Pahimar and Xeno never really liked the red matter. They felt it was just a re-textured dark matter. It is being taken out of the mod more for that reason than a need to balance. Because truth be told there are other mainstream mods that add items to mine quickly...like the mining laser form IC2...now I know its not as uber as dark and red matter but that doesn't mean that Pahimar should have to construct this mod around making up for the lack of mining instruments in other mods. That said you must have missed the other posts that have stated....while red matter is gone and will not return...Pahimar has plans to make dark matter tools better and the armor will be socketed allowing for all kinds of possibilities. I know there are a ton of posts to weed through but that has been stated by Xeno (the original creator of EE) whom is in almost constant contact with Pahimar (the current maintainer and developer of EE3). Pahimar is a genius who I believe is a founding father of ForgeCraft but I could be wrong on that account. My point is that if everyone would just give him the time to create this amazing mod (from infrastructure up to content) and give him good feedback rather than begging for items that may or may not make a return in the same or some new improved form, we will all be that much better off for it when the mod is finished. Please I beg all of you reading this just take the time to put yourselves in the shoes of Pahimar, here he is trying to create something amazing for all of us with no real prospect of a financial gain and yet we can not go one page on this thread without someone bashing him. How would that make you feel?
I know a fair amount of you are young and it is hard to control yourself when you get upset but please try. Trust us older folks...when this mod is done you will completely forget about EE2 or look on it with fair memories but without finding yourself wanting. That said I am not saying all younger folks are the ones flipping out, I know there are some level headed youngsters on MC forums. -

sankto posted a message on Any advice for a new Programmer? In general, if you wish to make a game (as it's usual for programmers to do at some point), don't do a 3D one. Start with 2D.Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
If you make a program or game, finish it. Cut on the features if necessary (sometimes, ideas and knowledge of how to apply those ideas doesn't go hand in hand), but finish it.
Make sure to look at the documentation if you need to understand something. Doing so while looking at the code of others can be good practice, albeit hard. -

I've ALWAYS had a problem with a view like this.. I have no problem with mods... and there are some darn good ones, But I have a problem with people like you, promoting a mod.. that does what the original engine should have done!
Its like defending a mod for Skyrim that makes it so you can run on your PC with more then 10 frames a second...
It should have been built into the engine in the first place!!!!!!!
And I have no sympathy for Mojang anymore, they have made 200+ million dollars, they have a dev team of what? 2-5 people? (I honestly don't know)... I mean they have there own freakin convention.. this isn't some dude sitting in his basement trying to program this on the weekends... back in Alpha and Beta when it was just notch.. I could give him some slack..
But all of this crap should have been fixed before it wen't into "release"
And telling people to fix it with a mod is just stupid.. very very stupid.
You seem to know a lot about how to develop a game.
Maybe you should work for Mojang and help them rewrite their engine! I'm sure they would pay you tons! -

Why is it that villages rip you off for e.g a villager wanted to trade ten gravel and a emerald for ten flint so why do they rip you off?
Because they know your the guy who just stole all the books from the Library. The same guy who also just took everything out of the blacksmith shop as well. They watched you tear down someones house/kick out someone and took the house. Also they're pissed that you don't grow your own wheat and steal theirs. -

If you don't know what a parameter is, you really shouldn't be trying to make a mod as in depth as this. You should start with something simple, and actually understand what you are doing before you go on to something harder.
