posted a message on 1km mine cart help
I figured this one out earlier today. You have to travel 1,000 X or 1,000 Z in a minecart without stopping. The track can be over 1k in length. The best bet is to lay out a straight track with a length of 1,000.

It isn't actually traveling on a track that is 1,000 blocks long, but traveling a distance of 1,000 blocks away (not tracks) in one trip. You have to displace either your X-coord or Z-coord by 1,000.

Is there a list somewhere where servers may add the names and IP addresses of know griefers? If not, there should be.

Look into a plugin called MCBans. If I recall correctly, it has a global banlist; if a player is globally banned by an admin with this plugin, that player will be banned from every server running MCBans.

Also, if you aren't running WorldGuard in conjunction with WorldEdit to obtain global protection along with region-defining protections, then you're just asking to be griefed.

Eliminate the diamond shape, make it a square that is 2 blocks away from the glass on each side. The way lava spread works, I believe, is that each block has an "invisible barrier" attached on each side. If the lava's invisible barrier is touching/is adjacent to the invisible barrier of a flammable block, it's going to catch fire. The Red Wool is the lava's flame spread range:

Going by the explosion resistance chart on the wiki and doing a little math, 12.5 hours is accurate. Obsidian explosion resistance is 6,000 compared to 18 million for Bedrock. Obsidian can be broken in 15 seconds, for Bedrock it would be 45,000 seconds.

The question is, does it drop when it breaks? :SSSS:

To much griefing, and if there is no griefing, its a safe free build with no danger=no fun..

This is not true at all. I'd say the servers you (and a lot of others in this thread) played on had admins who didn't know how to properly run them.

Lots of SMP hate going on in this thread, mostly seemingly misguided. It is very possible (and not difficult at all) to run a legit build server, still have mobs and PVP on, and keep griefers out. We do it every day on my server, and have for a long time. A lot of you complain about whitelisting, and while it may be a bit annoying, it helps to keep out certain players, like known griefers or younger players for server maturity purposes. My server is strict on griefers and thieves, and we run plugins to keep players' creations & chests safe (as do most other servers). We're currently in the process of using a server link plugin to build a ring of servers, each with their own different play style. We have three servers interconnected via portals; one is a legit build map with mobs & PVP, one is a full Nether map, and another is a hardcore legit server with barebones plugins (no Creeper nerfs, lava fire spread on, etc.). We don't charge to play, and never will. We're just trying to broaden the SMP focus to cater to the styles of more players. It's a lot of fun for us, and it's a lot of fun for our players.

I'm always impressed by obscure pixel art, like, really obscure. I saw a video where someone had a generic enemy, albeit an endgame and uncommon one, from the somewhat forgotten about NES game Faxanadu! You don't even see the things until about 15% from the end of the game, nor were they particularly memorable. That impressed me.

I also saw a painting pack that had one of the paintings as the hero from the NES game Battle of Olympus. If I had a list of the top 30 games that warranted being made into NES paintings, BoO would not have been one of them, though I loved the game dearly.

Want to be cool, do something obscure!

I'd say the Grim Reaper I made is fairly obscure.

I don't understand why some of you are so negative about pixel art (not directed at the quoted poster). It's fun to build, it's fun to see the final product, and it's fun to see it in Minecraft. If you don't like it, don't read the thread. Not really a difficult concept to comprehend and apply.

    Armos Knight:

    Articuno:

Grim Reaper. Mad props out to anyone who knows what game this one is from:

hmmm that looks a lot like the already made Zelda pack. but other than that to fix your gimp you need to get something that will completely erase gimp from you hd. that includes the registry files for it. the you will need to reboot your comp and reinstall gimp. if that doesn't work then i guess your s.o.l.

It's a mix of my favorite parts of the released Zelda packs, some old & some new, plus some of my own pixel work.

I'll look around and try to find something.

Yeah, I tried to reinstall GIMP, but it didn't work. Here are my terrain and items files. I also added a painting in place of the new one, so the kz.png was edited also:

I have a custom version of the Zelda pack that I am (finally) updating. For some reason, GIMP will not work for me anymore, and I have no idea why. I originally created the terrain.png and items.png in GIMP, but all of a sudden that program immediately closes itself when I try to open it. I downloaded Paint.net, and it's an ok editor. Problem is, when I saved my images, the transparency was screwed up somehow. The pack won't work, and I'm not sure how to fix it. Any and all help is appreciated.
