Hello there, I'm Monkah. The administrator of Redstone Rising, a new server currently in development. However, us developers require assistance making the dream server of our lives. We currently are in great need of people that can find a large Minecraft map, and edit it to our needs.


Classes and Factions
Redstone Rising is a server with many days in the workshop, hitting things with a wrench until they work. Redstone Rising will offer eight different classes, and eight different factions. Starting with classes, I should note that all classes have been hammered at to ensure equality. Each class offers two to three strengths, and one or two weaknesses. Each weakness can be taken advantage of by another class, in PvP and raiding, two things we heavily encourage on the server. Factions however, do not matter ability-wise, but matter more strategy-wise. Each team will get a special terrain, with large originality and planning involved. One of the team's terrain will be largely volcanic, with lava-flowing mountains and hardly any water. Each team will show a small portion of their strategies on the main thread, where the new user can look at them to decide who has the smartest leader, and the highest chance of success.
Difficulties
However, despite you being on a team, we have no intention on making this easy for you. Having server-exclusive features such as what was previously deemed impossible by many, mob speed changing, we have the abilities to make teamwork more required than before. Zombies will spawn in massive hordes. Spiders will race past you faster than you can imagine, creepers will destroy entire houses, and ghasts will angrily fire hell upon you. You and your faction will not find it too easy to battle off the evil creatures at night. During the day, you have problems such as starvation, which is quite shorter than in the life you live now, due to excessive lifting of hundreds of pounds of stone and such. Meat will be much harder to get now during the day, due to pigs being able to magically fly, however, you may eat zombie leg if you happen to be hungry enough. Even if you get past the evil of the night, and the starvation, you have the problem of angry, money-hungry players, who will find ways to make sure your establishments are in smithereens and that your hard earned minerals are theirs unless you do something about it. If you are up for more challenge, you may fight the ultimate human boss, Redstone. Beware though, he will not be easy, even for entire armies of men, yet what would the rewards yield?
Friendships
Despite our previously described challenging environment, we intend to have a cheerful and content community. Instead of a raid being taken as an asshole gesture, we intend to make it seem like the same feeling you get when you get bankrupted in Monopoly. To have an obscene and stuck-up environment was never our plan. All in good fun, we will host minigame events or trivia contests daily to provide the best experience for any mature survivalist out there.
Never ending-plotline.
Here at Redstone Rising, the administrators appreciate a good story-line. Those that like to roleplay, or simply like a good read with an update, will be satisfied knowing our updates will have fictional reasoning related to the initial plotline of the server. Along with this, I should mention, knowing from previously owned servers, I tend to update a lot.

Storyline as of 7/26/11

Two thousand years ago, there was a small village on the shore of the great ocean. All was well there, with the exception of one small thing. An evil shapeshifting demon that lived in the mountains, who eats the souls and flesh of humans. People sent sacrifices to the great demon daily, until at one point, the people simply stopped believing in the great demon, calling it a folktale. Eventually, the sacrificies stopped. The unpleased demon, Redstone, crawled from out of the same pit of lava that every sacrifice was from, and devoured the human population there, setting homes on fire, flooded the grassy hills, and at the end of his rampage, there were only eight survivors, each with a unique ability which allowed them to survive Redstone's wrath. To these days, these mountains are known as the Redstone Rise, always feared.


- Eight factions is being suggested to change to six. The suggestion is under consideration and debate.
- Despite our hardcore description, we don't plan on making it simply impossible. We can assure you that everything will flow smoothly.
