When I have a large base sometimes I do like Ickabodx did and spawn some villagers, I take care of them and protect them and such. (Sometimes I go and gather a bunch of animals and treat them like my babies Ie: A ton of sheep with all different colors and names)

Why: I really like to play survival minecraft with other people and no one will respond to my applications. All the threads I see seem to be dead. :,(
