I'd like to request a mod that destroys leaves when they are no longer attached to a tree.
that way i won't have ugly ghost trees hanging around my house.
(leaves used to disappear alone on older versions but now they seems not to)
idea:
make leaf blocks have a value "X"
if X=1 leaf is okay
if x=0 leaf is destroyed
when leaf block have an adjacent tree block than X=1
when leaf block has a leaf block adjacent with X=1 than its X=1 (this way trees won't have only one row of leaves)
when X=0 countdown from 10 till it pops (will stop new trees from popping when created)
it'll probably have an issue when two trees grow next to each other, but I'm sure I can live with that...
did you not change the new compressed file into a .jar?
which file do you mean? i didn't compress a single file, i compressed the whole folder
yes exactly what i meant!
you did this:
1) taken the files out of the JAR original file
2) messed with the stuff inside
3) compressed it to a RAR file
what you need to do:
4) change the surname of the file to .jar
if you cant see the surname of known file types
than you need to activate it through "Folder Options"
and that depends on what OS you are running. just google "hide extensions of known file types" and your sure to find something to help you
i kind of sorted it but when i start minecraft the loading bar gets to about 95% of the way up then stops
heres exactly what i did:
deleted entire bin folder
launched Minecraft, it re-downloaded bin folder and the game worked
opened minecraft.rar
extracted minecraft.rar to create a folder
deleted minecraft.rar
removed two MOJANG files from minecraft folder
dragged by.class into minecraft folder
compressed minecraft folder into new minecraft.rar
launched, failed miserably, began to experience minecraft withdrawal symptoms, went into fetal position and rocked back and forth while crying in a corner
I know absolutely nothing about .rar files and such, it took me over an hour to get a simple texture pack working, and then the halloween update appeared, ruining my good work >.<
if anybody could help me, I'd be extremelly obliged
did you not change the new compressed file into a .jar?
i was wondering if when creating a new world, in alpha that is. you will be prompted with a series (3 or 4) of questions about how would you like your world to look like.
will it be:
1) Smooth or with many mountains
2) Snowy or not
3) Many islands or a big mainlands

i deleted the two mojang ones and added the by.class to my jar (drag and drop into the rar-window) and it worked for me
but the game crashes when i try to add an HD texture pack (Mina's)

it just might be that the mod clashes with one of your other mods.
I did some testing on the mod and:
It doesn't work when:
* using hoe's right-click ability
* using a sword to break blocks
thought you should know!

never mind, I've been stupid and now I got this mod working along with some others (I used 303's mod loader too)

they should be alike!
edit:
oh, i see you already addressed the subject.
it just looks very bad in my cave with my glass floor and lava flow =D
besides "still lava" isn't always that still... at some situations it just looks weird.
besides that, everything looks awesome.
waiting for those male-armors!
