I can't believe the idiotic responses saying we should just not wear armor if we want a challenge.
Iron and Diamond armor are part of the game, and need to be appropriately balanced, instead of players needing to make artificial challenges for themselves.
If this is true about armor being nerfed a bit, thats great news and a step in the right direction, but I'd still like to see pre-1.8 armor values return.
Meaning each step of degradation reduced overall armor protection, and making repairing and replacing armor much more valuable.
Now that Notch is gone, we might actually get some good content, instead of mooshrooms and other experimental garbage that doesn't really add anything useful to the gameplay.
Bringing armor durability and protection back to 1.7 stats is the start, from there its adjusting Mob AI and behaviors, adding in more mob variety ect.
Unarmored you could survive 1 creeper blast if you had full health.
Armored, you were only strong as long as your armor was in good shape.
Each time your armor was damaged, your armor protected less and less until it was gone, reflecting the state of its durability right there in the main HUD.
Balance between armors was kept by durability per each material used to craft it.
Leather,Gold, Iron, Diamond gave 100% armor until damaged 1 time, then durability kicked in.
With 1.0 stats, even armor that is swiss cheese (1-5%) still gives 100% armor bonus.
Sorry, but that's just dumb.
When I can walk right up to creepers and other mobs and laugh in their faces as they tickle 1/2 heart at a time off me even with iron armor, I think something is wrong.
There is no longer any fear factor when exploring with armor stats the way they are now.

Slimes also glitch really really bad, and usually end up dying while being stuck inside walls.

Because it really served no purpose other than being an annoyance.

Adding Ruin surface dungeons as new content? yes
And yes, the same cube dungeon with spawner over and over again. is boring.

Setup like dungeons, but maybe 20x as large and at or near the surface would be great.
Dungeons are a nice find, but they all look the same and are too small IMO.
Putting surface ruins as well as more complex dungeons would be a great addition.
Afaik the only reason that strongholds are hidden so far below ground was to give use for Ender Eyes, and finding the END portal.

Both Ravines and Mineshafts are spammed everywhere, I can hardly explore anywhere without running into 1 or both of each in any direction I go.
Seems like the amount of them was increased super high for testing, and never got reduced back to normal generation levels.
Regular caves don't really cause much of an issue for me personally, could be reduced without much impact.
I'd rather that cave %'s were based on biomes or some other factor than just random generation.

If you want to accomplish anything, get a petition together and bring it directly to Jens or Notch via Twitter.

Soon as you got armor, you're impenetrable.
