Anywho, I want you all to look at this gate, and tell me with a straight face that it's only 1 block high.
Gee, I bet if I stack it, it will only be 2 blocks high!
Definitely 2 high. Mhm. Not 3 high. Not 4 high. 2 high. Totally.
That went well.

Not to brag, but I made a pretty legit 4 piston engine that required fuel(any items) to run. and sorry I don't have any pics, i'll have to make it soon. Each item kept it running for 5 minutes(item de-spawn time)

the irony in this being that you're insulting him for insulting others' tastes. Funny, isn't it?

Depends on who you're hiding from. No one is hidden in the internet.

If you are concerned about the mobs getting pushed above/walking onto the pistons, place a line of blocks/slabs above the tripwire hooks where the pistons are. Blocks above the tripwire won't affect it, afaik.
Edit: For fun, I mirrored it to make a nice and compact spawn pad segment.

Is it possible to change the star texture? If not, cuold some HDPatcher hackery alleviate this? I love your pack, but I'm afraid to look up at night...

Some of us can paint the Mona Lisa the moment we pick up a brush, for others, it takes years and years of practice. This pack isn't hurting anyone by existing, it's not being forced upon us. The author created something that he/she likes, and was generous enough to share it with those who would like it. Now for those of you that cannot fathom the concept of proper criticism, here's an example:
This texture pack is a good first try at creating textures for Minecraft. It does what it sets out to do (provide a simplified "feel" and look) and it does it well. While there may be other works similar to this, your pack adds another option for those who may desire it. May I suggest, though, if you make any future packs, that you try to add more detail to your textures? Those help make the blocks "pop out" and seem more 3-d.
That wasn't so hard, was it?

No threats please. That attitude is completely unnecessary. A simple please and thank you would suffice.

Not limited at all if you normally use two tracks to prevent riders from crashing into one another.

Four-Directional Piston Lighthouse Variant 1 (Made by traceroy)

*Note: This design is the cleanest and most simple design, but at the cost of entire sides moving in series, not individual pistons.
Eight-Directional Piston Lighthouse Variant 1 (Made by Alnohir)
Video:
*Note: This variant, though more compact than the original one by Driscj, suffers from an issue where one of the pistons in each corner remains unpowered, as shown below:

Eight-Directional Piston Lighthouse Variant 3 (Made by Mistahtokyo)

*Note: This variant suffers from an issue (due to limitations involved with using a four-repeater clock) in which two blocks per side will raise/lower at the same time.

*Note: This design is the largest (vertically) of all the others, but it was created as such so that and eight-repeater clock could be used to power the lighthouse without making is larger horizontally. This has the benefit (unlike my Variant 3) in that all of the pistons move in sequence. The midsection can be extended/shortened as necessary to fit varying lighthouse heights.
I will add more designs and they come so feel free to discuss and learn!
