May 21, 2013Do you want only one lamp at a time to be on, so that is one is on and you press another, the lit one turns off and the one you pressed turns on? Or do you want to be able to turn them on/off regardless of the state of the other lamps? The first could be achieved with a series of RS-NOR Latches that share a common reset line (or look up Grizdale's "Last Selectors"). The second could be achieved with T Flip-Flops but would be considerable harder (though not impossible).Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms
May 21, 2013Here are two variants we came up with on the server I frequent. They may have been discovered before, but as far as I'm aware these were developed by the users NickBambridge and I. They rely on the hopper clock, which allows for an extremely slim (1 wide) and tileable, should you need to, system. The second variant is not tileable due to the introduction of a piece of redstone dust, but is slightly more compact. Both systems can handle any load, but leave a single item in the pipe (not stuck, it gets flushed when new items enter).Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms

The single torch method of distribution can be changed, but is our personal favorite because it is compact and doesn't burn out with the hopper clock. We've used several of these in our server's iron farm and after filling 18 double chests with iron ingots, there are still no issues whatsoever. Multiple feeds can be managed, but would require some editing that I'm too lazy to provide at the moment.

Using sand generators is bug using, which is a kind of cheating. If you cheat anyway you can also use the /give-command and save a lot of work.
Cheating would imply that Minecraft has rules. Being a sandbox game, I find that unlikely.
Mar 29, 2013Wait, so your issue is with the pistons that control some sort of light mechanism (which in turn turn the setup on/off) aren't working? Why not place some redstone lamps on the top, hook up a simple dust line over them, and hook that up to a lever? I'm not seeing why pistons would be better in this case.Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms

Why not hook up a simple pulse lengthener to the output of the daylight detector, why make this?Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms

If you want a button with multiple functions, branch off the input line. Not sure where you're getting the time statistics from either.Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms

I've tried this method but the objects that I'm collecting seem to pass right on by on the "conveyor belt" (top row of hoppers) without dropping through to the appropriate chests. Any hints?
Edit: As it turns out, I was using 13w09b. When I upgraded to 13w09c it was working well.
Even so, just have the minecart constantly running back and forth. any item that doesn't get placed the first time will eventually that way.

Here is the other end stone.
if you are using the snapshot save it as whitestone.png and place it in the \textures\blocks
or heres the terrain.png for 1.4
That endstone texture also has a matching end portal texture, along with an alternate enchanting table texture, afaik.

OK, what new kinds of monostables, gates, T-Flip-Flops, etc. can be made with the latest redstone devices? What exactly doesn't work; is there a few specific things that don't work in 1.5, or what?
You seem to be enjoying yourself...

It's also worth noting that none of the pistons for the circuitry are sticky as well. The lone piston facing upwards is pushing a sand block, btw, so that it may fall and reset once unpowered.
Edit: Fail, you can make it a bit faster by replacing the torch tower with the same upside down slab line from the opposite side. It can also be much faster if you invert the input, but I don't feel it's worth the extra space it'd take up.

I'm currently using Chrome.
Nope. Still doesn't do anything.
Search your system files for the downloaded file. Sometimes the file will download without bringing up a prompt and/or download manager and it's not always to your "Downloads" folder.
