I just did exactly that, and nothing grew. Well, not nothing. Baby cows grew up, but planted wheat and canes did not. I planted some wheat, some cane, and spawned in some baby cows in a pen, then I TP'ed 1000 blocks away on both axes, and planted some more cane there. I waited over half an hour, until all of the canes had grown at least once, and most of them had grown twice. Headed back to spawn, and nothing. Every single one is still only 1-tall, how I planted them. The cows had grown up, but the canes and wheat had not grown at all. Just as I expected. Just as it had been last time I did this exact same experiment, back in 1.3/1.4 or thereabouts.

I suppose it could be different in multiplayer. I don't have the ability to test this at the moment. Do you have links to the videos you mentioned?

I'm pretty sure the loaded spawn chunks only applies in Multiplayer, not ssp.

TayzingTyger, are you aware that you can edit your last post instead of posting a ton of new ones in rapid succession?

As for the piston facing down, either make the line face directly to it, or place the line on a block that's level with the piston, either way works so long as the piston is receiving power.
As for the door direction, assuming the farm itself is facing north, make sure the doors are all facing the middle. Basically stand from the middle and place doors from there or just refer to the original map download.
If you're making this/have a copy of it/ in singleplayer, I recommend installing the villager detection mod. It'll show you if villages are forming properly and where golems are going to be spawning. Great for troubleshooting issues.

Misa. are you going to release one with sounds as well?

Whenever you look at a long thread, use the search feature, control+f, and/or read (at least) the last 10 pages.
This has already been discussed. Thoroughly.

The exact amount of blocks in between the two doors in 63, just like his video and world map show it to be. Unless I counted it wrong.
I downloaded his world map just for that part and counted how many blocks are in between. The first door on the secondary structure lands on the 64th block away from the south-east corner door.

Just going off of Ghost's statement. I'll measure myself, then, and check. Also remember to have all of your hopper clocks reset and the RS-NOR Latches in their proper states before attempting a full manual reset.

    Overcomplicate in which way?

Making the satellite (second building) farther than it should be. Ideally, you should attempt to make an exact replica, then make sure that works. If it does, you can then edit it in stages and check as you go (in case something goes wrong, you'll know exactly what you did to break it).

Why would you overcomplicate things like that? I'm honestly curious as to why you'd knowingly do that.

posted a message on Command Block dectection for square shaped regions Help!
Your best best is figuring out a proper spread pattern of varying size circle radii to cover the square. refer to this page for more info: http://mathworld.wolfram.com/CirclePacking.html
It's not too hard, find the length/width of the square, set a center circle with the radius set to that. Then add smaller and smaller circles (overlap would be fine in this case) until eventually reaching radius 1 circles at the corner. Still a lot of command blocks, but a helluva lot less than one for each block.

    Old Design:

Remove the torch in the floor. Replace the pushed block with a redstone block. Boom, it's now slightly more compact and you can call it a "new" design.

Actually, I'm pretty sure someone said somewhere (Jl's server I think) that the constant lava over the slab is the best method because the hopper will always pick up the item before it gets burned by lava. Also, using that simple and ridiculously tiny method makes for a system so compact that if you're worried about efficiency, you could make two side by side and it'd still be smaller than some of the systems posted here.

Copy this pattern as many times as you need it.

I remember with the older terrain generation there was that epic seed (named above) that spawned you inside a huge mountain valley surrounded by sheer rock walls/cliffs on all sides. It was like a hidden paradise inside the mountains. I have yet to find a similar seed, but maybe one of you has had some luck with a similar one? Preferably Large Biomes, by the way.

I looked into stacking them and unless you don't mind staggered towers, the torch "hose" method won't work. Otherwise I can simply use a different method of signal propagation (it takes little modification to change from the torch method to others).
