I didn't really need an account here. I've came here months before I got my account as I could gain valuable information from the community. Truthfully, I got an account so I could feel like I was making an impact. I view these forums as basically a game, and in every game I've played, I always craved power. So, I'm here to gain "power" in the sense of becoming known and respected.
Well you're sure as heck not going to get that on here.

The main issue is that the information is strewn about rather than grouped together or laid out in an orderly fashion, violating the design principles of proximity and alignment. I put some lines showing where things are not aligned and text with some other nitpicks.

No. My point was expressed perfectly well, you simply made no attempt to understand it, and worked right away to dismantle or push it aside. Did you even contemplate what I meant, or do you just always assume the worst? I mean really, a post talking about god as a concept does nothing for the religious thread? Oh Cosmic, you'll say the darnedest things.
This is ridiculous. Did you even read my post? Do you have even the most basic grasp of my argument at all? Do you acknowledge that we are fallible beings of knowledge and understanding and we first have to make presumptions of the nature of reality before creating rationalizations? The fact is that we don't know anything for absolutely certain, but this doesn't prevent us from setting ground rules for how reality works and taking safety in knowledge and reason.
Once again you've assumed this entirely. No where did I state that my interpretation of things is entirely factual, or the only way to view things. It's simply my own view of what I understand, but clearly that's not allowed here when you're snooping around. All your efforts work to shutdown and insult what I and others say. You need to get over yourself.

Obviously you contradicted yourself a bit thar, my friend.
*sigh* As usual you didn't even make an attempt to understand what I said. We all have to make presumptions based on our understanding of reality. I don't literally know if there's a dragon in my backyard, but I can state within reason that there isn't. Is this a contradiction too, or is it simply being realistic? Do I have to state that I don't know if the rain will fall because of gravity, or can I safely presume it'll follow its normally observed order?
As I've stated many, many times before to you, we have to take safety within certain accepted parameters before we can begin to rationalize the world. Similar to my previous examples, it's why I can state that things like fairies and vampires don't exist. I don't have proof that they don't, but I can state with some safety in mind that they do not exist. Are you ready to call this a contradiction too, or has the biased favor for god as a fictional entity been dropped finally? That would be most excellent, because then maybe we could make some actual progress.
Aug 26, 2013Posted in: Politics, Philosophy, News and ScienceQuote from NobnoobWhat evidence do I need??
If you can't prove that god isn't real then he isn't real.
Lack of supporting proof =/= Proof of nonexistence. If they were the case, then nothing new would have ever been discovered. Correctly, it's wise to state that we simply don't know if there is or is not any kind of god.
But realistically, god is just a concept devised by the human mind. Humans are prone to superstition and irrational thinking, and social teaching allows it to permeate and propagate in societies. Indeed, the absolute lack of any support whatsoever to the presence and actions of a god is rather startling. It's downright baffling that people believe it at all.

I finished Fallout: Equestria about 5 days ago. Oh my god. Where does one even begin to describe...? It was wonderful. It's easily in my top fanfic list (which, I must add, is ranked highly if not atop all literature I've ever read), sitting alongside Eternal, Dangerous Business (which seriously needs to be put onto Fimfiction), and The Immortal Game.
Fallout: Equestria was both sad and beautiful. It's massive, filled with adventure and grim reality. But in that darkness there is a guiding light that waves hope of a better tomorrow before the occupants of the wasteland and the reader. I'm no fan of the Fallout games, but the setting and theme portrayed in FoE is mature and gritty. It tears up anything walking and devours innocence and goodness. The locations are fantastic, and the story is always moving to a new exciting destination.
But the gem of the story is the characters. They. Are. God-tier. Littlepip, the main character, is incredible! She is realistic, possessing foibles and deep faults. Yet she still stands and keeps running forward into danger, working to protect her friends and the innocent from the harsh nature of their destroyed world. She is filled with hate and love and everything that makes
humansponies who they are. The friends and allies she picks up along the way are no less in their depth or development. You come to care for and appreciate them, and Littlepip herself is nothing short of inspiring.
This isn't to say the story is without its own shortcomings. Hardly. I have several criticisms for the epic tale; particularly the beginning and ending are poorly paced. The ending, while not bad, felt almost rushed. It was like the author was wanting to finally move on, or she was too lazy to wrap up everything more neatly. The story is also very convenient. There's always that last health potion for the final stretch, or someone shows up to save them, or Littlepip finds something to remove themselves from the danger, or there's some way for the plot to explain itself and shuffle the characters to the next place. It relies a lot on deus ex machina. However these are usually explained reasonably enough to accept, and it does have the benefit of keeping the story moving and flowing very well. There are also some minor issues with the story that I won't bother flooding the post with.
Yet despite these qualms, the story was still very powerful and engaging. They certainly didn't keep me from shedding a few tears once I finished the story. It was a great ride, one I dedicated a lot of my free time to, and I'm going to miss the experience of reading it and being with the characters. As a result, Fallout: Equestria gets Nerevar's Badass Seal of Approval! Everyone who hasn't read it yet needs to right now.

Season four spoilers!
All I've seen so far is the animatic, and not really anything else. So I'll just say my thoughts about the episodes we saw in that.
Episode 1: While I never hated the Babs Seed bullying episode, I thought it could've been handled better. It also could've been handled a lot worse, but it's not nearly the best in the series. So, I expect this episode to be of that quality. It could surprise me though. But didn't Lauren say she never wanted to address Scootaloo's flightlessness in the show? Anyway, I'm just not really excited by this episode.
Episode 2: I really hope the superhero episode is going to be good, it just looks like the fun silliness that we have seen in lots of the early season one episodes (like Feeling Pinkie Keen or Look Before You Sleep), which I really like seeing again. It of course could turn out to be some huge battle like in Canterlot Wedding, which I wouldn't mind, but I would prefer just some good ole' silliness. Nothing complicated. I suppose with the villian they have in there it's more than likely going to go the second way. I won't be disappointed either way however.
Episode 3: I'll welcome another musical as long as Hasbro isn't forcing a huge change down the writers throats in 22 minutes again. I'd like to see why Pinkie is joining them though. Don't see how they could really mess this one up, it looks like it'll be good.
THAT IS ALL
They're doing a episode that will (i hope) involve Celestia and Luna's history. I think we're probably gonna have to wait awhile for this one though, considering it's probably going to be the season finale. If they mess this up though I swear... or if frickin' Hasbro forces some ridiculous change again...
Anyway, season 4 looks good, I'm glad they gave us a few entire episode previews rather than just a single song from a crappy opening. And it's 26 episodes. And they aren't wasting 13 episodes for a crappy movie. Hasbro only looks to maybe have forced another bullying episode, no signs of any big changes. I have hopes this'll be better than season 3.
Season 4 spoiler discussions.
1) I think it's great that the show is finally moving to this topic. An amazing lesson can be drawn from the experience (treating those with disabilities equally, never giving up, don't let things get you down, etc). I worry this may become a repetitive bully episode though. They'll need to stick from the classic bully tropes and focus more on Scootaloo as a character. Hopefully they can squeeze in some details concerning her parents too.
2) I agree. We need another purely fun episode, this is a cartoon after all. I'm not sure how it'll work (Spike is dreaming? It's looking very 'Super Friends' of course). It's clearly a parallel of Powerpuff Girls, which... isn't bad. It's almost like a little shoutout to Lauren herself. But it's also very different to what we've been given before, and it poses the danger of running too many cliches.
3) This seems like a very down-to-earth episode focusing on some fun, character-building antics. I'm not sure why Pinkie Pie is with the Apples, or where they're going with those apples. All I can think of is they're moving them to go trade somewhere else, so maybe we'll see another town. Maybe one close to Pinkie's family's rock farm? PP and AJ could seriously use some interaction (which is great since they're fairly contrary), and it'd be a good moment to delve more into Pinkie's history and life. Though, if they're taking the apples to trade, why is the whole family going? I saw someone inquire that may Pinkie Pie is related to the Apples distantly, which isn't a bad guess. I did like the song.
OK, ok. OK. YAY FINALLY SOME ROYAL SISTERS HISTORY. I say history because this clearly seems like it's showing NMM's rise 1,000 years ago. Luna's dialogue is geared under a context that it's only her and one other Princess (who the ponies bask under said Princess' light). Luna's voice (this may not be a final recording) is very... Well, it makes no damn sense (and Luna turning into NMM again would be lame). She's incredibly snarky and hostile to Twilight, which is out of place given their short history together. an episode showing a - if not THE - key historical point for the entire show is finally going to be shown. Ready the fire for the fanfics!
