You're not missing anything I guess... I don't regret anything I did, but I've been alone for quite a while now and I can clearly see there are much more important things than sex and girls.
I'm not very confident about relationships, though probably not as much as you, but after some time you'll see that being rejected is not such a big deal. I guess the more you're concerned about it, the less chances you'll have, not because this makes you a worst person, but because most people aren't worth the hassle anyway.
As an example, the MacBook Air looks and feels sexy. I have a friend who has one, so I've handled it... and mmmyes, that would be nice to own. Definitely not worth what Apple is asking though lol

By the way, don't take me wrong. I own a couple macs (A 8100/100AV Power PC and a G4 Mac mini, along with a bunch of other regular pcs) and they're both nice machines. It's just that such a blind fandom can't be good.
If macs are no different but the OS and design, it sounds like they should improve something to make us want to buy them. instead of people buying them because they are rich.
In a perfect world, maybe, people wouldn't buy just for the looks. In our world however that happens often.
Again, design is not just aesthetic, e.g. the macbook air is not that thin just because the components are smaller - its design is probably the most important factor that makes it so thin. The macbook pro have an aluminium body, which is obviously more resistant to shock. The mac mini is small and silent. etc etc.
Now, about the os - Being UNIX-like, it's much more reliable than any Windows system. Not being required to support a great variety of hardware also helps it to be more optimized for its native platform. The problem, it's made by Apple, who likes to handcuff its customers to their lines of products.
To each his own. In the end it's all a matter of preference. Also, they're rich, yes, and no one works for bananas. Don't you like to be rich too? Rich companies get rich selling products that can be sold, and they set the price they want. It's not like anyone is being forced to buy it. A company can't sell anything if people don't want to buy it. Oh, and shall I remind you that Microsoft owns a considerable bit of Apple?

Anyway, this is my last post here so I'll make it short - what I'm trying to point is that the argument about regular pc vs mac pc comes from the same place where your question comes from. One guy dislikes regular pcs, other dislikes mac pcs, and other dislikes others disliking the machine they like. Not so hard to understand...
