Sigh, as with every new mod, in floods the terrible suggestions.
"Add this, this and this"

First up, work on the model and behavior.

Though, I wouldnt mind the addition to snakes and such, but you should first "finish" what you have.

I have someone working on the model and skin.

I personnaly think the behavior is good. what i did not metion is that because it is a cold blooded animal(IRL), you will usually find it on land on blocks with a high amount of light.

I am also working on new content - Armor effects. Maybe more mobs(maybe turtle, snake). Maybe a new overly complicated machine to code that makes armor abilities "activate," sort of like enchating, but with a furnace like interface.
Many things to come in future. New food like jerky or ********* ******(<- that one is a surprise. :biggrin.gif: )

Tell me what you guys think of my somewhat complicated update list.
Tell me what you want to see.
And last but not least, How do you like the mod so far?

Cool, maybe you could remodel the helmet model to make it look like a 3d alligator head so it isn't just a green box.

hmmmmm. That sounds really awesome but, extremely hard. I'll do my best to try.

This has potential. I just don't see it yet sorry.. I think you just need to add more features to the gator & reskin/remodel.

working on it. thanks for the feedback. I will add armor features like... Full set = no fall damage/no fire damage. i'll try to add what you guys want.

Alligator Mod v2.0

Update 2.0 is now out! Finnaly I have updated my mod. :D

Face it notch, swamp biomes are boring. <_< But that is ok sir because my alligator mod is here to help in the minecraft swamp experience. This mod adds... well... an Alligator of course. Th alligator spawns on grass in the swamp biome. He may look a little small and derpy(sorry about my not so good modeling and skining skills) but he really can pack a punch at 3 hearts of damage. so watch out. If you are lucky enough to find and kill one you will be rewarded with some tasty tender meat and strong slimy skin. the meat can be eaten or cooked. Raw it fills 1 and a half huger bars - Cooked in a furnace fills 3 hunger. The skin can be crafted into armor the strength of iron. Dont believe me? here are some pictures:(Hint:they are in the spoiler)

*CAUTION* old pictures

I am making a mod called Alligators. Everything works except the Alligator. I think you might see my dilema. I was wondering if any smart people out there could assidt me with my problem.

1) I am using modloader and MCP for 1.8.1

2) no Errors when recompiling or reobfuscating

3) I used techne to make my model and render file

4) here is my current code that involves the alligator:

mod_Alligator
package net.minecraft.src;

import java.util.Map;

public class mod_Alligator extends BaseMod
{
public static Item AlligatorMeatRaw = new ItemFood(134, 3, true).setItemName("AlligatorMeatRaw");
public static Item AlligatorMeatCooked = new ItemFood(135, 7, true).setItemName("AlligatorMeatCooked");
public static Item AlligatorSkin = new Item(136).setItemName("AlligatorSkin");
public static Item AlligatorHelmet = new ItemArmor(137, 3, ModLoader.AddArmor("Alligator"), 0).setItemName("AlligatorHelmet");
public static Item AlligatorBody = new ItemArmor(138, 3, ModLoader.AddArmor("Alligator"), 1).setItemName("AlligatorBody");
public static Item AlligatorLegs = new ItemArmor(139, 3, ModLoader.AddArmor("Alligator"), 2).setItemName("AlligatorLegs");
public static Item AlligatorBoots = new ItemArmor(140, 3, ModLoader.AddArmor("Alligator"), 3).setItemName("AlligatorBoots");
